The New York Mets lose 4-2 to the Los Angeles Dodgers


The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets on Tuesday night. The final score was 4-2 and the game took place at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Matt Harvey started for the Mets and was just ok; John Buck and Juan Lagares each had a hit and an RBI.

Harvey pitched six innings giving up eight hits and four runs. He lost his fourth game of the season walking two and striking out three. Gonzalez Germen pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and Scott Atchison pitched a perfect inning.

Lagares had a hit and an RBI, Daniel Murphy had a hit and Marlon Byrd had a hit. Josh Satin had a hit and drew a walk, Justin Turner had a hit and Buck had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk. Mike Baxter had a hit, Lagares hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched seven innings giving up five hits and a run with a walk and three strikeouts. Ryu won his 12th game of the season, Ronald Belisario pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one and Kenley Jansen saved his 19th game of the season. He pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk.

Carl Crawford drew a walk, Mark Ellis had two hits and Yasiel Puig had two hits. A.J. Ellis had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Juan Uribe had two hits and Nick Punto had a hit and two RBI. Punto hit a double and the Dodgers were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.

Lagares hit a solo homerun in the first giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. In the fifth Punto hit a two run double giving the Dodgers a 2-1 lead. Ellis hit a two run single in the sixth giving the Dodgers a 4-1 lead. In the ninth the Mets scored a run. Buck hit an RBI single and the final score was 4-2 Dodgers.

The Mets record fell to 54-63 and the Dodgers record improved to 69-50. The two teams will play the third and final game of the three game series on Wednesday night.
