The New York Mets lose to the Miami Marlins



The New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field and the final score was 4-3 Marlins.  Matt Harvey started and pitched pretty good and Ruben Tejada led the offense with a couple of hits. 

Harvey pitched eight innings giving up six hits and four runs with a walk and eleven strikeouts.  Harvey lost his third game of the season.  Carlos Torres pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Dan Haren won his fifth game of the season pitching seven innings and giving up four hits and two runs with a walk and four strikeouts.  Sam Dyson pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and A.J. Ramos pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts.  Ramos saved his third game of the season. 

Curtis Granderson had a hit and an RBI, Tejada had two hits and Lucas Duda had a hit adn an RBI.  Daniel Murphy had a hit and an RBI, Michael Cuddyer had a hit and Juan Lagares drew a walk.  Cuddyer hit a double, Duda and Granderson each hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

Dee Gordon had a hit, Martin Prado had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Justin Bour had a hit and three RBI.  Christian Yelich had a hit, Adeiny Hechavarria had a hit and Haren had a hit.  Bour hit a homerun and the Marlins were 2-4 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Gordon had a stolen base. 

In the fourth Bour hit a three run homerun to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead.  In the fourth Duda hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the fifth Prado hit an RBI single making it a 4-1 game.  Granderson hit a solo homerun in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-2 and in the ninth it became a one run game on a Murphy RBI double but the final score would be 4-3 Marlins.  The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.   

The New York Yankees blow a lead on the West Coast



The New  York Yankees were defeated by the Oakland Athletics on Thursday night.  The game took place at O.co Coliseum and the final score was 5-4 Oakland.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and couldn't hold a two run lead.  Brett Gardner and Brian McCann each had three hits. 

Sabathia pitched six innings giving up eight hits and five runs with a walk and four strikeouts.  Sabathia took his seventh loss of the season.  David Carpenter pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk and Chasen Shreve pitched 1 1/3 innings striking out one. 

Kendall Graveman pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and three runs with two walks and four strikeouts.  Fernando Abad pitched to two batters and retired them both, Evan Scribner earned his first win of the season pitching 1 2/3 innings and striking out two and Tyler Clippard saved his fifth game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and a run with a walk. 

Gardner had three hits and an RBI, Chase Headley had a hit and he struck out one and Alex Rodriguez had a hit and an RBI.  Mark Teixeira drew a walk, McCann had three hits and two RBI and Chris Young drew a walk.  Garrett Jones drew a walk, Gardner hit a double and McCann hit a homerun.  the Yankees were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Billy Burns had two hits and an RBI, Marcus Semien had a hit and Ben Zobrist had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Billy Butler had an RBI, Steven Vogt had a hit and Brett Lawrie had a hit and two RBI.  Josh Phegley had two hits, Mark Canha had a hit and drew a walk and Zobrist hit a double and Burns and Lawrie each hit a homerun.  The A's were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Semien committed an error. 

In the second McCann hit a solo homerun giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth McCann hit an RBI single to make it 2-0 after a replay review call was overturned on the field.  In the fifth the Yankees increased their lead to 3-0 on a Rodriguez sac fly.  In the fifth Burns hit a solo homerun to make it a 3-1 game.  In the sixth Lawrie hit a two run homerun to tie the game at three.  Zobrist had an RBI walk in the seventh and it was 4-3 Oakland.  Butler hit a sac fly and it was 5-3 Oakland.  In the ninth Gardner hit an RBI double to cut the lead 5-4 but that would be how the game ended. 

The two teams will play game two of four on Friday night.  Chris Capuano will take on Sonny Gray.

The New York Mets shutout the Philadelphia Phillies



The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-0.   Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and pitched very well, he also led the team with three hits including a homerun. 

Syndergaard pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up six hits and no runs with no walks and six strikeouts.  Syndergaard won his second game of the season.  Sean Gilmartin pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Erick Goeddel pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out twice. 

Sean O'Sullivan pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up 11 hits and seven runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  O'Sullivan lost his fourth game of the season.  Jake Diekman pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and striking out two and Jonathan Papelbon pitched an inning giving up a walk. 

Curtis Granderson had an RBI and drew a walk, Lucas Duda had three hits and two RBI and Daniel Murphy had three hits and an RBI.  Michael Cuddyer had two hits and two RBI, Danny Muno drew a walk and Kevin Plawecki had a hit.  Syndergaard had three hits and an RBI, Duda hit a double and two homeruns.  Cuddyer and Syndergaard also hit a homerun each.  The Mets were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Ben Revere had two hits, Blanco had a hit and Franco had a hit.  Grady Sizemore had two hits, Rupp had a hit and O'Sullivan had a hit.  Blanco hit a double and the Phillies were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Diekman committed an error. 

In the first Duda hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  Murphy hit an RBI single and then Cuddyer hit a two run homerun in the third to make it 4-0.  Syndergaard hit a solo homerun in the fourth to make it 5-0.  Duda hit his second homerun in the fifth to make it a 6-0 game.  In the sixth Granderson hit a sac fly and it was 7-0 which was the final score. 

The Mets will have the day off on Thursday.

The New York Mets blew a lead but then win the game in extra innings



The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-4 in ten innings.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and pitched very well, the bullpen blew the lead and win for deGrom.  Michael Cuddyer and Kevin Plawecki each had two hits. 

deGrom pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up six hits and two runs with no walks and nine strikeouts.  Hansel Robles gave up two hits and two runs, Alex Torres pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and striking out one and Carlos Torres pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit.  Jeurys Familia picked up his first win of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and walking two with a couple of strikeouts.  Familia earned his first win of the season. 

Jerome Williams pitched six innings and gave up five hits and three runs.  He walked four and struck out four.  Luis Garcia pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one, Giles pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Gomez lost his first game of the season pitching an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout.  Araujo pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he walked two batters. 

Curtis Granderson had a hit and drew a walk, Juan Lagares had a hit and drew a walk and Lucas Duda had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Daniel Murphy had a hit and drew a walk, Cuddyer had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk and Flores had a hit and two RBI.  Eric Campbell drew a walk, Plawecki had two hits and Murphy hit a double.  The Mets were 3-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Granderson had a stolen base. 

Ben Revere had two hits and two RBI, Freddy Galvis had a hit and an RBI and Chase Utley had two hits and drew a walk.  Maikel Franco had a hit and an RBI, Grady Sizemore had a hit and Herrera drew a walk.  Carlos Ruiz had two hits, Williams had a hit and Cesar Hernandez had a  hit.  Revere hit a triple and the Phillies were 3-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Herrera was caught stealing. 

Duda hit an RBI single in the third to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  Cuddyer hit a two run single to make it a 3-0 game.  In the eighth Revere hit a two run triple, Galvis hit an RBI single and Franco hit an RBI single to make it 4-3 Phillies.  In the bottom of the eighth Flores hit a sac fly to tie the game at four.  In the tenth Flores hit an RBI single to make it 5-4 and that was the final score.   

The Mets swept the three game series and will be off on Thursday.  They will host the Miami Marlins in a three game series which begins on Friday night. 

The New York Yankees sweep the Kansas City Royals behind a very good Michael Pineda



The New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 4-2.  Michael Pineda started for the Yankees and pitched very well, the bullpen closed it out.  Alex Rodriguez and Carlos Beltran each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Pineda pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up six hits and a run with a walk and eight strikeouts.  He won his sixth game of the season.  David Carpenter gave up a hit to the only batter that he faced, Justin Wilson retired the only batter that he faced and Dellin Betances pitched an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run.  He walked one and struck out three.  Andrew Miller earned his 14th save of the season pitching a perfect inning. 

Chris Young lost his first game of the season pitching six innings.  He gave up seven hits and four runs with two walks and seven strikeouts.  Young lost his first game of the season, Ryan Madson pitched an inning giving up two hits and a walk with a strikeout and Franklin Morales pitched an inning with a strikeout. 

Brett Gardner had a hit, Chase Headley had a hit and drew a walk and Rodriguez had two hits and three RBI.  Teixeira had a hit, Brian McCann had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Carlos Beltran had two hits, Slade Heathcott had a hit and Headley and Gardner each hit a double.  McCann and Rodriguez each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Gregorius committed an error. 

Alcides Escobar had three hits, Mike Moustakas had a hit and an RBI and Lorenzo Cain drew a walk.  Eric Hosmer had a hit, Kendrys Morales had two hits and Alex Gordon drew a walk.  Paulo Orlando had a hit which was a double and Moustakas hit a homerun.  The Royals were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Cain had a stolen base. 

In the first Moustakas hit a solo homerun to give the Royals a quick 1-0 lead.  In the second McCann tied the game with a solo homerun.  In the third Rodriguez hit a three run homerun to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead.  In the eighth the Royals cut the lead to 4-2 on a Morales RBI single.  4-2 would be the final score of the game. 

The Yankees swept the three game series and now have a 1 1/2 game lead in the AL East.  The Yankees begin a four game series with the Oakland A's on Thursday night in Oakland.   

The New York Yankees win second straight over the Kansas City Royals



The New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-1.  Adam Warren started and pitched very well.  The Yankees bullpen also was good.  Mark Teixeira drove in four runs to lead the offense. 

Warren pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run.  He didn't walk a batter and he struck out five and earned his third win of the season.  Justin Wilson pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Dellin Betances pitched a perfect inning striking out the side and Andrew Miller gave up a hit and he struck out one in his one inning. 

Jason Vargas lost his second game of the season for the Royals.  He pitched four innings giving up two runs, a walk and he struck out six.  Joe Blanton pitched two innings giving up three hits and three runs with two of them being earned and he struck out one, Kelvin Herrera pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout and Wade Davis pitched an inning with a walk. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Chris Young had a hit and Alex Rodriguez had two hits and drew a walk.  Teixeira had two hits and four RBI, Chase Headley had an RBI and drew a walk and Carlos Beltran had a hit.  John Ryan Murphy had a hit, Teixeira hit a double and a homerun and the Yankees were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Headley committed an error. 

Mike Moustakas had two hits, Kendrys Morales had a hit and Paulo Orlando had a hit and an RBI.  Orlando hit a homerun and the Royals were 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Infante and Cain each committed an error. 

In the first Teixeira hit a two run homerun and the Yankees had a 2-0 lead.  Teixeira hit a two run double in the fifth and the lead extended to 4-0 Yankees.  Headley hit a sacrifice fly and it was 5-0.  In the sixth Orlando hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 5-1. 

The two teams will play game three of three on Wednesday afternoon.  The Yankees have now won two straight after losing ten of their previous eleven games.

The New York Yankees losing streak reaches six



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Sunday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-2 Texas.  Chris Capuano started and pitched ok but didn't get deep into the game.  The Yankees bullpen was pretty good and Chase Headley and Garrett Jones each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Capuano pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He lost his second game of the season.  Capuano didn't walk a batter and struck out four.  Chasen Shreve pitched 1 1/3 innings and walked one, Justin Wilson pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and two runs and Dellin Betances pitched a perfect inning.  David Carpenter pitched an inning giving up two hits and Andrew Miller pitched a perfect inning with a couple of strikeouts. 

Yovani Gallardo pitched six innings giving up four hits and two runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Gallardo earned his fourth win of the season.  Keone Kela pitched an inning giving up a hit, Ross Ohlendorf pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk and Sam Freeman pitched to one batter and retired him.  Shawn Tolleson pitched a perfect inning striking out the side. 

Headley had two hits, Alex Rodriguez had a hit and Mark Teixeira drew a walk.  Brian McCann had a hit and two RBI, Jones had two hits and drew a walk and the Yankees were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Pirela committed an error. 

Delino Deshields had two hits, Shin-Soo Choo had two hits and an RBI and Prince Fielder had three hits and two RBI.  Adrian Beltre had a hit, Mitch Moreland had a hit and Leonys Martin had a hit.  Robinson Chirinos had a hit, Adam Rosales had two hits and two RBI with a walk.  Fielder, Moreland, Choo and Martin each hit a double.  DeShields hit a triple and Rosales hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Rosales and Martin was caught stealing and Andrus and Moreland each committed an error.  Martin had an outfield assist. 

In the first Fielder hit an RBI double to give the Rangers a quick 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first McCann hit a two run single to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead.  In the second Rosales hit a two run homerun to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead.  Choo hit an RBI double in the seventh and Fielder hit an RBI single to make it a 5-2 game. 

The Yankees were swept in the three game series.  The Yankees will remain at home to face the defending American League Champion Kansas City Royals. 

The New York Mets double up the Philadelphia Phillies on Memorial Day



The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was  6-3.  Bartolo Colon started and ended his personal two game losing streak.  He pitched pretty well and the bullpen was good.  Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murphy each had a couple of hits to lead the offense. 

Colon pitched six innings giving up six hits and three runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  Colon won his seventh game of the season.  Alex Torres pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out one, Hansel Robles pitched to two batters and retired them both, one on a strikeout and Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and he earned his 14th save of the season. 

Severino Gonzalez pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs with no walks and eight strikeouts.  Elvis Araujo pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run and took his first loss of the season, Justin De Fratus pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with two walks and Jeanmar Gomez pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings.  Jake Diekman pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one. 

Granderson had two hits, Lucas Duda had a hit and an RBI and Murphy had two hits and an RBI.  Michael Cuddyer had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks, Wilmer Flores had a hit and three RBI and Anthony Recker drew a walk.  Colon had a hit and Duda, Cuddyer and Flores each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  recker had a stolen base and committed an error. 

Ben Revere had a hit, Freddy Galvis had two hits and Chase Utley had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Ryan Howard had a hit and an RBI, Grady Sizemore drew a walk and S. Gonzalez drew a walk.  Galvis hit a double and the Phillies were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

In the first Murphy hit an RBI single giving the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Utley hit a two run single to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead.  Duda answered back with a solo homerun int he third to tie the game at two.  In the fourth Cuddyer hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 3-2 lead.  Howard hit a sac fly in the fifth and the game was tied at three.  In the sixth Flores hit a three run homerun to make it 6-3 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.  Jacob deGrom will get the ball coming off of a dominating performance his last time out.

The New York Mets are swept in Pittsburgh as they are blown out



The New York Mets were defeated by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the final score was 9-1.  Jon Niese started for the Mets and didn't pitch very well, the bullpen didn't fare too well either.  Wilmer Flores had two hits to lead the offense. 

Niese pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with four walks and six strikeouts.  Niese suffered his fifth loss of the season.  Erik Goeddel pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and Sean Gilmartin pitched two innings giving up three hits nad two runs with a walk and a strikeout. 

Francisco Liriano won his second game of the season pitching six innings and giving up six hits and a run with two walks and 12 strikeouts.  Jared Hughes pitched a perfect inning, Tony Watson pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Arquimedes Caminero pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one. 

Flores had two hits and an RBI, Michael Cuddyer had a hit and Daniel Murphy had a hit and drew a walk.  John Mayberry Jr. had a hit, Darrell Ceciliani had a hit and Ruben Tejada drew a walk.  Niese had a hit, Mayberry hit a double and the Mets were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

Josh Harrison had a hit and an RBI, Jose Tabata drew a walk and Corey Hart had a hit and an RBI.  Andrew McCutchen had two hits, two RBI and drew two walks, Starling Marte had a hit and three RBI and Jung Ho Kang had a hit and drew a walk.  Francisco Cervelli had three hits and an RBI, Jordy Mercer had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Gregor Polanco had two hits, Kang and Mercer each hit a double.  McCutchen and Marte each hit a homerun and the Pirates were 4-12 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Mercer had a stolen base. 

In the fourth Mercer hit an RBI double to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth Flores hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  McCutchen hit a two run homerun to give the Pirates a 3-1 lead.  Cervelli hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 4-1.  In the bottom of the sixth Marte hit a three run homerun and the lead was now 7-1 Pirates.  Harrison hit a sac fly to make it 8-1 in the seventh.  Hart hit an RBI single in the seventh and that was the end of the scoring. 

The Pirates swept the Mets and the Mets will remain at home to take on the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday afternoon.  Bartolo Colon will get the start coming off of two rough outings.

The New York Yankees are embarrassed in 15-4 loss to the Texas Rangers



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 15-4.  CC Sabathia started and didn't pitch well, Esmil Rogers was bad in relief, the defense was bad and Didi Gregorius was the only player with more than a hit. 

Sabathia pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up seven hit snad six runs with a walk and four strikeouts.  He lost his sixth game of the season.  Rogers pitched three innings giving up four hits and seven runs with three walks and three strikeouts, Brandon Pinder pitched three innings and gave up four hits and two runs with three strikeouts and Garrett Jones pitched 2/3 of an inning with a walk. 

Nick Martinez won his fourth game of the season ptiching seven innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Alex Claudio pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Anthony Bass pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a strikeout. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Carlos Beltran had a hit and an RBI and Alex Rodriguez had a hit and drew a walk.  Jones had a hit, Gregorius had two hits and an RBI and John Ryan Murphy had a hit and an RBI.  Slade Heathcott had a hit and an RBI, Murphy hit a triple and Beltran and Gregorius each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 0-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Gardner had a stolen base and Beltran committed an error. 

Delino DeShields had a hit and drew two walks, Shin-Soo Choo had two hits and four RBI and Prince Fielder had three hits and three RBI with a walk.  Adrian Beltre had two hits, Mitch Moreland had a hit and Elvis Andrus had two hits and three RBI.  Adam Rosales had two hits and an RBI, Carlos Corporan had a hit and an RBI and Jake Smolinski had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Corporan and Moreland each hit a double and Choo and Fielder each hit a homerun.  The Rangers were 8-15 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Rosales and DeShields each committed an error. 

In the third the Rangers scored 10 runs after scoring seven on Friday night in the third inning.  The Rangers had a 10-0 lead and added to it in the sixth on a wild pitch, Andrus sac fly and a Rosales RBI single.  Texas had a 13-0 lead when Beltran hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth.  In the seventh Fielder hit a two run homerun to make it a 15-1 game.  Gregorius hit a solo homerun in the seventh to make it a 15-2 game.  In the ninth the Yankees scored a couple more runs to make it 15-4 and that would be the final score.  Murphy hit an RBI triple and Heathcott had an RBI groundout for his first major league RBI.  The Yankees will try and avoid a sweep and end their losing streak on Sunday night.  It is Bernie Williams night with the ceremony at 7 and the game at 8.  Chris Capuano will start for the Yankees.   

The New York Yankees fight back but still fall to the Rangers in high scoring game



The New  York Yankees were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 10-9.  Michael Pineda started and for the second straight game he didn't pitch well.  The bullpen wasn't very good either and the offense did hit three homeruns. 

Pineda pitched six innings giving up eight hits and seven runs with four of them being earned.  He walked one and struck out four and suffered his second loss of the season.  Chasen Shreve pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a strikeout, David Carpenter pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Justin Wilson pitched an inning walking one and striking out one. 

Colby Lewis earned his fourth win of the season pitching 6 2/3 innings and giving up eight hits and five runs with three strikeouts.  Sam Freeman pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs, Tanner Scheppers pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Ross Ohlendorf recorded his first save by pitching an inning and giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout.

Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk, Carlos Beltran had a hit and Alex Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI.  Mark Teixeira had a hit and an RBI, Brian McCann had a hit and an RBI and Chase Headley had a hit and drew a walk.  Stephen Drew had a hit, Didi Gregorius had a hit and three RBI.  Garrett Jones had a hit and three RBI, Slade Heathcott had two hits including a double and Rodriguez and McCann also each hit a double.  Gregorius, Jones and Teixeira each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Gardner had a stolen base, Pineda and Gregorius each committed an error. 

Delino Deshields had a hit and an RBI, Shin-Soo Choo had a hit and an RBI and Prince Fielder had two hits and four RBI.  Mitch Moreland had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Elvis Andrus had two hits and Leonys Martin had two hits.  Robinson Chirinos drew two walks, Thomas Field  had two hits and two RBI including a double and Fielder hit two homeruns and Moreland also hit a homerun.  The Rangers were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Martin had a stolen base and Andrus was caught stealing.  Chirinos committed an error. 

In the third DeShields reached on a force attempt error.  Two runs scored, Choohit an RBI single, Fielder hit a three run homerun, Moreland hit a solo homerun and the score was 7-0 Rangers.  In the fourth McCann hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 7-1, Gregorius hit a solo homerun and the lead was cut down to 7-4.  In the seventh Fielder hit a solo homerun to make it an 8-4 game.  In the bottom of the seventh Rodriguez hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 8-5.  Field hit a two run double in the eighth to extend the lead to 10-5.  Jones hit a pinch hit three run homerun in the eighth to cut the lead to 10-8 and then in the bottom of the ninth Teixeira hit a solo homerun to make it 10-9 but that would be the final score.  The Yankees have now lost four games in a row and will try to even the three game series on Saturday afternoon.
