The New York Mets are beaten 11-1 by the Miami Marlins

The New York Mets were beaten by the Miami Marlins on Monday afternoon.  The final score was

11-1 and the game took place at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, Florida.  Bartolo Colon made his

spring debut and pitched ok.  There wasn't any player on the Mets who had more then one hit. 

Colon pitched four innings giving up five hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Cory Mazzoni pitched an inning giving up three hits and striking out one, John Church pitched an inning giving up two hits and striking out one and Jack Leathersich pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Ryan Reid pitched an inning giving up six hits and four runs with a strikeout and Scott Rice pitched an inning giving up two hits and two unearned runs with a walk and a strikeout.

Eric Young Jr. had a hit, Kirk Nieuwenhuis drew a walk and Chris Young had a hit.  Matt den Dekker had a hit, David Wright drew a walk and Zach Lutz had an RBI.  Anthony Recker had a hit, Ruben Tejada had a hit and drew a walk and Eric Campbell had a hit.    

Young and Tejada each hit a double and the Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Tejada and Rice each committed an error and Granderson had an outfield assist.  The Mets will play at the St. Louis Cardinals spring home on Tuesday afternoon.
