The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin, Florida and the final score was 11-5.  Luis Cessa started for the Yankees and he did not pitch well.  Bryan Mitchell and James Kaprielian did pitch well.  Aaron Hicks, Clint Frazier, Ronald Torreyes and Starlin Castro each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Cessa pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up six hits and four runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Ben Heller pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out two, Mitchell pitched three innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts and Kaprielian won the game pitching two innings with a walk and three strikeouts.  J.R. Graham pitched a perfect inning, striking out the side. 

Hicks had two hits and an RBI, Frazier had two hits and two RBI and Torreyes had two hits.  Donovan Solano had a hit, Castro had two hits and an RBI and Chris Carter had an RBI and drew a walk.  Tyler Wade had a hit, Billy McKinney had an RBI and drew a walk and Wilken Castillo had a hit and two RBI.  Rob Refsnyder had a hit and an RBI, Ji-Man Choi had a hit and two RBI and Dustin Fowler drew a walk.  Mason Williams had a hit and two RBI, Hicks, Castro, Refsnyder and Frazier each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 4-11 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Mitchell and Tejada each committed an error. 

In the first Carter hit an RBI ground out to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Jarrod Saltalamacchia hit a two-run single to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead.  Melvin Upton Jr. hit an RBI single and it was 3-1 Blue Jays.  In the second Ezequiel Carrera hit an RBI single to extend the Blue Jays lead to 4-1.  In the third Hicks hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-2.  Castro hit a solo homerun in the third and it was 4-3.  In the fourth Refsnyder hit a solo homerun to tie the game at four.  In the sixth Ryan Goins hit an RBI triple to give the Blue Jays back the lead at 5-4.  Frazier hit a solo homerun in the seventh to tie the game at five.  In the eighth Choi hit an RBI groundout and Williams hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 7-5 lead.  McKinney reached on a fielding error in the ninth to make it 8-5 and then Choi hit an RBI single and Williams hit a sac fly with Frazier hitting an RBI single to finish the scoring at 11-5.
