Pitching Matchups for Subway Series Part II
Tonight- CC Sabathia vs Mike Pelfrey
Tomorrow- A.J. Burnett vs Tim Redding
Sunday- Chien-Ming Wang vs Livan Hernandez
The games are all night games with Sunday night being a ESPN game, tonight is a MY9 game and tomorrow a YES game. The Yankees clearly have the advantage in the pitching matchups and should win 2 out of 3 if not sweep them. The Yankees bats have seem to awoken the last game and a half in Atlanta and if this is the case the Mets could be in for a long weekend as none of the pitchers going are too good. The Yankees catch a break by missing Santana although they did crush him in the first game they saw him this year. I wouldn't of expected that again though if he faced them. Mike Pelfrey has really been struggling lately and Tim Redding just picked up his first win the other day. Livan Hernandez has pitched well this year but he doesn't have great stuff and puts a lot of runners on base.

Nats at Yankees(weather permitting)
I don't see how they will play this game today but the Yankees say they will try and get it in and there is a window around 3. The Yankees are not playing well at all going 6-7 in their last 13 but really 5-8. They head out on the road tomorrow for 9 straight against Florida, Atlanta and the Mets. Here are the pregame notes and lineup from Peter Abraham.
The season is 40 percent over, wow I didn't realize that unbelievable.
A-rod has gone in a June swoon hitting 157 with a 328 on base percentage and 314 slugging percentage. He is now batting 219 and has 2 homeruns in his last 79 at bats. This is not good he needs to start hitting soon.
Brett Gardner is 14 of 16 in stolen bases this year and 43 of 48 for his career.
Phil Hughes has looked good in relief but is and should be a starter. He has pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts out of the pen.
Derek Jeter won't play and wouldn't have even if the weather was good, he should be in there tomorrow.
Phil Coke has been great his last 7 outings giving up 2 hits, 0 runs with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.
Chien-Ming Wang is scheduled to start on Tuesday in Atlanta.
Yankees Lineup:

Yankees weekly Minor League roundup
AAA- The Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees continue to be in first place. Austin Jackson who is the Yankees #2 prospect is batting 358 with 0 homeruns and 19 rbi's. It would be nice to see a little power but that is always last to develop and he plays a good centerfield. He has a 442 obp.
In the pitching department we know what Dave Robertson and Mark Melancon are as we have seen them as well as Edwar Ramirez. Ian Kennedy is on the DL and Phil Hughes is in the major league rotation.
AA- Jorge Vasquez is hitting 299 with 7 homeruns and 30 rbi's. He was signed out of the Mexican league just like Alfredo Aceves. Eduardo Nunez is batting 286 with 2 homeruns and 16 rbis. Vasquez plays 1b and Nunez is a SS.
Pitching wise Christian Garcia is healthy and has pitched 9.1 innings giving up 6 hits, 6 walks and 8 strikeouts. He hasn't given up a run yet, the Yankees think highly of him but he has to stay healthy.
Zach McAllister is 2-2 with a 2.25 era. He has pitched 40 innings giving up 33 hits with 13 walks and 27 strikeouts.
A- Jesus Montero is batting 324 with 5 homeruns and 30 rbi's, he is the Yankees top prospect and is a catcher. Austin Romine who is also a catcher is hitting 289 with 4 homeruns and 21 rbi's.
Austin Krum an outfielder is batting 300.
Pitching wise Jeremy Bleich is 3-2 with a 2.94 era. Dellin Betances is 2-4 with a 4.87 era.
