Here are some pregame notes as always via Peter Abraham and also from the AP in Tampa regarding A-rod. I also have the Yankees lineup, the Yankees are on a 8 game homestand now looking to get a few games over 500 and start to make a move and establish homefield advantage.
A.J. Burnett makes the start looking to bounce back from his bad start in Fenway last time out. That was his only bad start and his ERA looks bad because of it but he has pitched well other then that start and I look for him to bounce back tonight.
Robinson Cano has a 16 game hitting streak going and Hideki Matsui has a 9 game hitting streak going.
Mark Teixeira is 1 of his last 16 and must be thrilled to see that tomorrow is May 1st.
A-rod had 8 at bats in a extended spring game today and was 1 for 6 with 2 walks. He did hit a homerun. He didn't really run during the game, he did do windsprints afterwards. The reports are that he looked rusty but he feels good and is happy to be back on the field. I will get more into A-rod later. Here is the Yankees lineup:
Jeter(ss)
Damon(lf)
Tex(1b)
Matsui(dh)
Cano(2b)
Posada(c)
Swish(rf)
Cabrera(cf)
Pena(3b)
