Yanks win 8th in a row

The New York Yankees defeated the Oakland A's tonight by the score of 8-3. Joba Chamberlain got the start and had his second straight good outing since the break. He went 7+ innings giving up 2 hits, 1 run, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Phil Coke was good in the 8th as he got out of a 1st and 2nd no out jam without allowing a run. Dave Robertson pitched the ninth, he gave up a couple of runs but got the job done as he finished the game. The offense was led by Derek Jeter going 3-5, Jorge Posada had a solo homerun and Melky Cabrera also had 3 hits. A-rod had a double. The Yankees have really been doing the little things like moving runners over and hitting sac flys, taking walks and getting clutch hits. They aren't just hitting homeruns anymore which is a great sign. The Yankees will try and make it 9 in a row tomorrow with Andy Pettitte on the mound. The Yankees remain 2 1/2 up on the Red Sox in first place in the AL East and the best record in the AL.
