The New York Mets defeat the Atlanta Braves 8-2

The New York Mets defeated the Atlanta Braves by the score of 8-2 on Monday afternoon. Bobby Parnell made the start and pitched well. Justin Turner had a couple of hits and Ruben Tejada had a hit and three RBI. 
Parnell pitched three innings giving up two hits and striking out two. Manny Acosta pitched one inning giving up two hits, Miguel Batista pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and three strikeouts and Ryan Fraser pitched a perfect inning. Ramon Ramirez pitched two innings giving up two hits and one run with three strikeouts.

Tejada had a hit and three RBI, Rafael Fernandez had an RBI and drew a walk and Josh Thole had a hit. Daniel Muno had a hit and an RBI, Turner had two hits and Richard Lucas had an RBI and drew a walk. Ramirez had an RBI, Darrell Ceciliani had a hit and Mike Baxter had two hits. Wilfredo Tovar had three hits and Mike Nickeas had a hit.

Tovar and Turner each had a double. Tejada had a homerun. The Mets were 3-13 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. The Mets improved their spring record to 8-19. The Mets will take on the New York Yankees in the last two spring training games. They will play on Tuesday afternoon at home in Port St. Lucie and then Wednesday afternoon in Tampa. The Mets will open up the season in New York on Thursday afternoon.
