New York Yankees lose fourth straight in loss to the Tampa Bay Rays

 The New York Yankees were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday.  The game took place at 

Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-3.  Jordan Montgomery started for 

the Yankees and he pitched ok.  The Yankees offense didn't do much.  

Montgomery pitched six innings giving up two hits and four runs.  He walked two and struck out seven

and took his first loss of the season.  Jonathan Loaisiga pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run.  

He walked none and struck out three and Justin Wilson pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run.  

He struck out two.  

Tyler Glasnow earned his second win of the season starting for the Rays and pitching five innings 

giving up two hits and a run.  He walked four and struck out seven.  Jeffrey Springs pitched 1 1/3 

innings giving up a hit and a run and he struck out two, Colin McHugh pitched 1/3 of an inning 

giving up two hits and a run and Ryan Thompson pitched 1 1/3 innings with a strikeout.  Diego 

Castillo pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts to earned his fourth save of the season.  

DJ LeMahieu had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Aaron Judge had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Hicks

had a hit.  Gleyber Torres, Gary Sanchez and Gio Urshela each drew a walk.  Roughned Odor had a 

hit and an RBI, Judge hit a double and Odor hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-7 with runners in 

scoring position and left seven men on base.  Higashioka had a passed ball.  

Yandy Diaz had a hit, Austin Meadows drew a walk and Mike Brosseau had a hit and drew a walk. 

Manuel Margot had a hit and two RBI, Francisco Mejia had two hits and two RBI and Joey Wendle had 

a hit and two RBI.  Mejia hit a double and a homerun.  Margot and Wendle each hit a homerun and the 

Rays were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base.  Margot had a stolen base and 

Wendle committed an error.  

In the second Mejia hit a solo homerun giving the Rays a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second 

LeMahieu hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  Margot hit a two-run homerun in the fourth to 

give the Rays a 3-1 lead.  In the seventh Wendle hit a two-run homerun pushing the Rays lead to 5-1.  

In the bottom of the seventh Odor hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 5-2.  Judge hit an RBI double

and the lead was cut to 5-3.  In the ninth Mejia hit an RBI double to make it 6-3 and that would be the 

final score.  

The Yankees have lost two straight in the series and will try and avoid the sweep on Sunday afternoon.
