The New York Yankees suffer their first loss of the season when scoring the games first run
The New York Yankees were defeated by the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 3-2 on Tuesday night. The game took place at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. Phil Hughes made the start and didn’t pitch bad and the bullpen was good. Vidal Nuno gave up a walk off homerun in the tenth inning. The Yankees offense didn’t do much.
Hughes pitched six innings giving up two runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out five. Boone Logan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and striking out one, Shawn Kelley faced one batter and got him out and David Robertson struck out the side in his one inning of work. Preston Claiborne pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one and Nuno gave up a hit and a run to the only batter that he faced which ended the game.
Brett Gardner had a hit, Vernon Wells had a hit and Travis Hafner had two hits and two RBI. David Adams had a hit, Gardner and Wells each hit a double and the Yankees were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.
Miguel Gonzalez pitched seven innings giving up five hits and two runs with five strikeouts. Tommy Hunter pitched two perfect innings with a strikeout and Jim Johnson picked up his second win of the season pitching a perfect inning.
McClouth had two hits and an RBI, Manny Machado had a hit and Nick Markakis had a hit. Chris Davis drew a walk, Chris Dickerson had three hits and two RBI and Navarro had a hit and drew a walk. Dickerson hit two homeruns and McClouth hit a homerun. The Orioles were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.
Hafner hit an RBI single in the first inning giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead. In the third inning Dickerson hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one. Hafner hit an RBI single in the fourth giving the Yankees a 2-1 lead. Dickerson hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two in the fifth inning. McClouth hit a walk off homerun in the tenth inning to give the Orioles a 3-2 win.
The Yankees ended their three game winning streak and dropped their record to 28-17. The Orioles record improved to 24-21. The two teams will play the rubber game of their three game series on Wednesday night.

The New York Yankees take the series from the Minnesota Twins
The New York Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins by the score of 8-2 on Wednesday night. The game took place at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota. CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and pitched really well. The Yankees offense did a good job especially in their big third inning. Samuel Deduno started for the Twins but left with eye irratation and was replaced by Brian Duensing who struggled. The Twins offense was led by Alexi Casilla.
Sabathia pitched eight innings giving up two runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out ten and picked up his 14th victory of the season. Cody Eppley pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one. Deduno pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two walks and striking out two, Duensing lost his 11th game of the season and pitched an inning giving up five hits and six runs with two walks and a strikeout and Anthony Swarzak pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and three strikeouts. Kyle Waldrop pitched two innings giving up two hits and striking out two and Luis Perdomo pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one.
Ichiro Suzuki had two hits, Derek Jeter drew a walk and Robinson Cano had two hits and two RBI. Nick Swisher had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Curtis Granderson had a hit and two RBI and Eric Chavez drew two walks. Raul Ibanez had two hits, Chris Stewart had a hit and drew a walk and Chris Dickerson had two hits and two RBI. Cano hit two doubles and Ibanez hit a double, Granderson hit a triple and Dickerson hit a homerun. The Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. Granderson was picked off and Stewart had a passed ball.
Ryan Doumit had a hit, Matt Carson had a hit and an RBI and Jamey Carroll had a hit and drew a walk. Chris Hermann had a hit, Casilla had two hits and Pedro Florimon had a hit and an RBI. The Twins were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and they left six men on base.
Carson hit an RBI single in the second to give the Twins a 1-0 lead. In the third the Yankees scored six runs to take a 6-1 lead. Cano hit a two run double, Swisher hit an RBI single and Granderson hit a two run triple. A wild pitch scored the final run of the inning. Dickerson hit a two run homerun in the sixth to make it a 8-1 game. The Twins scored the final run of the game in the seventh on a Florimon RBI single.

The Yankees will begin their final road series of the regular season on Thursday night in Toronto. They will play four games there before returning home to play the final three games of the season against Boston. The New York Yankees drop the rubber game to the Baltimore Orioles
The New York Yankees were defeated by the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 8-3 on Sunday afternoon. The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York. Phil Hughes started for the Yankees and pitched well for five innings and then lost it in the sixth. The Yankees bullpen wasn’t very good and their offense was led by Chris Dickerson. Chris Tillman started for the Orioles and left with tightness in his elbow, their bullpen pitched well. Mark Reynolds led the Orioles offense.
Hughes pitched five+ innings giving up eighth hits and five runs with a walk and six strikeouts. Hughes lost his 12th game of the season, Cody Eppley pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and drew a walk and Clay Rapada struck out the only guy that he faced. Joba Chamberlain pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit, two runs and a walk and Justin Thomas struck out the only batter that he faced. Derek Lowe didn’t record an out and gave up a hit, a run and a walk. Boone Logan gave up a hit without recording an out and Cory Wade pitched 1 2/3 perfect innings. Tillman pitched three innings giving up two hits, two runs with two walks and two strikeouts. Randy Wolf won his fourth game of the season pitching 3 1/3 innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Luis Ayala pitched an inning giving up a hit. Brian Matusz pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out one and Darren O’Day pitched one inning giving up a walk.
