Changes to the Blog

I haven't announced on here yet but now is the time. I am going to be covering the New York Yankees and New York Mets as a member of the press this season. I will be maintaining the blog like I always do but hope that this will enhance it. The games I will be doing you will know ahead of time and I plan on doing live blogging from the games I do attend. I hope that you guys will be more interactive with me and we can get a community going on here. I will have the game posts up and I hope this will lead to lots of discussion and maybe even debate. I welcome any and all comments but remember I do monitor so please refrain from abusive or derogatory language. If you have any other ideas to make this blog better please let me know also. My first game will be covering the Mets home opener on April 5th and I will also cover the Yankees home opener on April 13th. I can't wait to get started, I am hoping to put more pictures on here also to enhance the game stories. I think having the live blog posts and postgame reaction all directly from the games will enhance this blog and hopefully get people to come here and chat in the comments section. I will be on the computer throughout the days and nights of the games I am covering so don't be shy to write away and I will be responding. I thank you for all of your past, current and future support. I am looking forward to this experience and oppurtunity and can't wait to get started.

My new adventure

I forgot to mention this before but I have teamed up with Voice of Yankees universe and will be posting stuff on that site. Please visit that site and leave comments and emails also at http://nyyankeesrumors.com/ I am trying to expand my horizons and hoping this will work out well for me. I will still be posting regularly on here and nothing will change other then having to post on there and getting more people to see my work. I appreciate the support and will continue to provide you with the best coverage that I can.

Arod Today

Here is Arod with Joba and Arod sure has the support of the fans out at George M. Steinbrenner Field. He really seems to be enjoying himself out on the field, but this story won't go away, hopefully he will just pour everything in to the baseball field and have a great season.

The Captain Speaks

We have all been waiting for the New York Yankees captain to speak and he finally has. Derek Jeter did an interview with SI.com's Jimmy Traina today. The interview will run in tomorrows edition of Hot Clicks. Here is some of what he had to say. "I'm just curious as to why people keep asking the same questions over and over. We've been down this road before. Alex is a teammate. I support him. Our whole team is behind him. We all support him and we are looking forward to a new season. To be quite honest with you, it's old hearing the same questions. It's something that has been addressed before in the past. Everyones moved beyond it and it really doesn't need to be addressed again." He also had this to say about the Yankees high expectations for 2009- "I don't know how you can say more pressure because every year we are expected to win a championship. That's the bottom line. So I don't know how you can have more pressure then winning it all, you know what I mean? So every year it's the same expectations for us and that won't change." You can check extra mustard on si.com tomorrow for the entire interview. I am happy with this statement, it is what he needed to do, say he supports Arod and so does everyone else and that they have to get ready for the season and trying to win a title and that is the last of the Torre book for the team. I hope he did speak about the Book, but we will see what else he said tomorrow.
