The New York Yankees remain on fire as they blowout the Cleveland Indians 14-1

The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians by the score of 14-1 on Tuesday night. The game took place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Andy Pettitte made the start and was great, Robinson Cano led an amazing offensive attack with five RBI. The Yankees hit five homeruns and now lead the majors with 15 homeruns. The Yankees have also scored 7+runs for the third straight game which they didn’t do at all last year. 
Pettitte pitched seven innings giving up five hits and a run with three walks and four strikeouts, he picked up his second win of the season. Adam Warren pitched two innings giving up two hits and striking out one.

Brett Gardner had four hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Cano had four hits and five RBI and Kevin Youkilis had a hit and two RBI. Brennan Boesch who pinch hit had a hit and two RBI, Vernon Wells had a hit and Ichiro Suzuki had a hit and an RBI. Eduardo Nunez had a hit, Lyle Overbay had three hits and an RBI and Francisco Cervelli had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk. Gardner hit two doubles, Cano hit two doubles, Wells and Overbay each hit a double. Suzuki, Cano, Youkilis, Overbay and Boesch each hit a homerun. The Yankees were 7-17 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.

Carlos Carrasco started for the Indians and pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and seven runs with two walks and two strikeouts and picked up his first loss of the season. Brett Myers pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up 11 hits and seven runs with four strikeouts. Myers was scheduled to pitch on Wednesday but saved the bullpen for the Indians in this game.

Drew Stubbs had two hits, Kipnis drew a walk and Asdrubel Cabrera had a hit and an RBI. Lonnie Chisenhall had a hit, Nick Swisher had two hits and Michael Brantley drew a walk. Ryan Raburn drew a walk, Mike Aviles had a hit and Stubbs hit two doubles. Cabrera hit a homerun. The Indians were 0-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. Carrasco and Aviles each committed an error.

In the second Gardner hit a two run single and Cano a two run double to make it 4-0 Yankees. Suzuki hit a solo homerun in the third to make it 5-0 Yankees. Cano hit a two run homerun in the fourth followed by Youkilis getting hit and Carrasco getting ejected from the game. Youkilis hit a two run homerun in the sixth to extend the Yankees lead to 9-0. Cabrera hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the sixth to make it 9-1 Yankees. In the eighth Overbay hit a solo homerun, Cano an RBI double and Boesch a two run homerun to make it 13-1 Yankees. The Yankees added a run in the ninth on a Cervelli RBI single to complete the scoring at 14-1 Yankees. The Yankees are now 4-4 and have won three straight games. The Indians record dropped to 3-5. The two teams will play game three of their four game series on Wednesday night with the Yankees trying to take the series and their fourth straight victory. The Indians are trying to win a game in this series and then try and split the series with the final game on Thursday.
