The Mets jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning.  Wright hit an RBI single and Granderson a three run homerun.  The Yankees came right back and scored three in the bottom of the first. Teixeira hit an RBI single and McCann a two run homerun.  In the third Lagares hit a sacrifice fly to push the Mets lead to 5-3.  In the fourth Murphy hit a sacrifice fly and Wright had an RBI single to give the Mets a 7-3 lead.  Gardner hit an RBI single in the fourth to cut the lead to 7-4.  The Yankees could of gotten closer but Jeter hit into a double play to end the inning.  In the fifth Tejada hit an RBI single and Murphy hit a three run homerun giving the Mets an 11-4 lead.  Soriano hit an RBI single in the fifth to cut the lead to 11-5, Solarte homered in the eighth to cut the lead to 11-6 and then Duda hit an RBI double in the ninth to push the lead to 12-6.  The Yankees scored a run in the ninth on a McCann RBI single to make it 12-7 and that was the final score.

The Mets have taken the first two games of the 2014 Subway series and have won six in a row overall in the subway series dating back to last year.  The series will shift to Citi Field for Wednesday and Thursday night games.  The two teams have identical 19-19 records with the Yankees now losing four straight games.
