The New York Mets even their series with the Seattle Mariners


The New York Mets defeated the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington.  Jacob deGrom started and pitched great and the bullpen was good.  Lucas Duda had two hits. 

deGrom pitched seven innings giving up five hits and a run.  He walked one and struck out seven and won his fourth game of the season.  Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Jennry Mejia saved his 12th game of the season pitching an inning and walking one. 

Erasmo Ramirez pitched seven innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks and ten strikeouts.  He lost his fifth game of the season.  Tom Wilhelmsen pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout. 

Daniel Murphy had a hit, David Wright drew a walk and Duda had two hits and an RBI.  Bobby Abreu had a hit, Travis d'Arnaud had a hit and an RBI and Kirk Nieuwenhuis drew a walk.  Juan Lagares drew a walk, Ruben Tejada had a hit and an RBI and d'Arnaud hit a triple.  Duda hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Duda had a stolen base, Murphy committed an error. 

Endy Chavez had a hit, Kyle Seager had a hit and drew a walk and Corey Hart drew a walk.  Willie Bloomquist had a hit, Dustin Ackley had two hits and an RBI and Ackley hit a double.  The Mariners were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Jones had a stolen base. 

In the second d'Arnaud had an RBI triple and Tejada hit an RBI single to make it 2-0 Mets.  In the bottom of the fifth Ackley hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the eighth Duda hit a solo homerun to make it 3-1 and that was the final score.
