New York Yankees offense erupts in victory over the Guardians

 The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.  The game took place at 

Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 11-2.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees

And he pitched well.  Albert Abreu closed it out with two strong innings and four players had two hits

To lead the offense.  

Cole pitched seven innings giving up two runs on five hits and he walked two and struck out three.  Cole

Earned his third victory of the season.  Abreu pitched two innings giving up two hits and no runs with a

Strikeout.  

Hunter Gaddis started for the Guardians and he pitched three innings giving up eight hits and eight runs

With two walks and three strikeouts and he took his first loss of the season.  Tim Herron pitched two 

Innings giving up a hit and he struck out one and Xzavion Curry pitched four innings giving up four hits

And three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  

DJ LeMahieu had two hits and drew a walk, Aaron Judge had two hits and Anthony Rizzo had two hits

And two RBI and drew a walk.  Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk, Willie Calhoun had a hit

And an RBI and Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and an RBI.  Franchy Cordero had a hit and three RBI.  

Jose Trevino had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Hicks had two hits.  LeMahieu hit a double and Cordero hit 

A homerun.  The Yankees were 6-14 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  

Steven Kwan had a hit, Andres Gimenez had two hits and Jose Ramirez had two hits and an RBI.  

Josh Naylor had an RBI, Josh Bell had a hit and Will Brennan had a hit.  Oscar Gonzalez drew a walk.  

Mike Zunino drew a walk, Ramirez and Brennan and Bell each hit a double.  The Guardians were 

1-8 with runners in scoring position  and left five men on base.  Ramirez committed an error and Brennan

Had an outfield assist.  

In the bottom of the first Ramirez hit an RBI double and Naylor hit a sac fly giving the Guardians a 2-0 

Lead.  In the second Trevino hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the third Calhoun hit an RBI 

Single tying the game at two.  Cabrera hit a sac fly and Cordero hit a three-run homerun giving the Yankees

A 6-2 lead.  In the fourth Rizzo hit an RBI single and a double play scored another run

Pushing the lead to 8-2.  In the sixth Rizzo hit an RBI single and a wild pitch extended the lead to 10-2.  

Calhoun hit into a double play and a run scored making it 11-2 and that would be the final score.  

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Wednesday afternoon.
