Yankees Visit tithe White House
The New York Yankees had a off day today but they did visit the White House. They also visited Walter Reed Medical Center before attending the ceremony in the white house. If you haven't see any video it is on youtube and there are some good pictures on the Lohud Yankees Blog via the Associated Press. It was a nice speech the president gave. He singled out Mark Teixieira, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada. The Yankees felt it was a great experience and that they gained a lot from it. They will be ready to go back to work tomorrow against the Baltimore Orioles for the start of a 3 game series.

They took a 90 minute private tour that included the West Wing, Rose Garden and Oval Office. There were a total of 22 players, coaches and others in the traveling party in attendance. Peter Abraham of the Journal News and http://yankees.lhblogs.com had this on his blog, thanks to him for pointing this out.
