Mariners at Yankees

The New York Yankees take on the Seattle Mariners tonight from the stadium with Andy Pettitte taking on Jarrod Washburn. Here are the pregame notes and lineup from Peter Abraham of the Journal News. Phil Coke has gone 12 1/3 innings in his last 14 appearances with 5 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks and 14 strikeouts and Phil Hughes has gone 8 games, 13 innings with 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 3 walks and 16 strikeouts. MO has gone 8 1/3 innings in his last 8 outings with 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and 12 strikeouts. The Yankees have scored 45 runs over their last 49 innings, prior to that that they had scored 18 runs in 67 innings. The Yankees have a 2.56 era in their last 14 games and opponents are only hitting 207 against them. Ramiro Pena was optioned down to AAA as expected and will get some time in CF to be more versatile.
