New York Yankees shutout the Anaheim Angels


The New York Yankees defeated the Anaheim Angels on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-0.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and pitched well in his season debut and the bullpen pitched well.  DJ LeMahieu, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela and Cameron Maybin each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Severino pitched four innings giving up two hits and no runs with two walks and four strikeouts.  Jonathan Loaisiga won his second game of the season pitching two innings and giving up a walk and he struck out three, Stephen Tarpley pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three hits and he struck out four and Cory Gearrin pitched 2/3 of an inning.  Chance Adams pitched an inning giving up a hit and he walked one and struck out two. 

Noe Ramirez pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Ramirez lost his fourth game of the season.  Jose Suarez pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and six runs with two walks and three strikeouts, Jose Rodriguez pitched three innings giving up a hit and three walks with two strikeouts.  Trevor Cahill pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

LeMahieu had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Aaron Judge drew a walk and Didi Gregorius had a hit and two RBI.  Torres had two hits and three RBI, Luke Voit drew two walks and Brett Gardner had a hit.  Urshela had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Maybin had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Maybin and Gregorius each hit a double.  Torres hit a homerun and the Yankees were 5-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Brian Goodwin drew a walk, David Fletcher had two hits and Kole Calhoun had two hits.  Andrelton Simmons had a hit, Jared Walsh drew a walk and Matt Thaiss had a hit.  Michael Hermosillo drew two walks and the Angels were 0-7 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. 

In the second Urshela hit an RBI single, Maybin hit an RBI double and the Yankees had a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth LeMahieu hit an RBI single, Gregorius hit a two-run double and Torres hit a three-run homerun to push their lead to 8-0 and that was the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Wednesday night and the Yankees can clinch the division with a win.  CC Sabathia will be making his final regular season start at Yankee Stadium.

New York Yankees sweep the Baltimore Orioles


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.  The game took place at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland and the final score was 14-2.  James Paxton started for the Yankees and pitched well and Cameron Maybin had four hits and Gio Urshela had three hits to lead the offense. 

Paxton pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up five hits and a run with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Paxton won his seventh game of the season.  Chance Adams pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout. 

John Means pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up five hits and four runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  He lost his seventh game of the season.  Miguel Castro pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with one of them being earned.  He walked one, Taylor Scott pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and four runs with a  walk, Tom Eshelman pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with two being earned and a walk and strikeout.  David Hess pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Urshela had three hits and four RBI.  Didi Gregorius had two hits, Maybin had four hits and two RBI and Brett Gardner had two hits and an RBI.  Kyle Higashioka had two hits and five RBI, Mike Tauchman drew two walks and Breyvic Valera drew a walk.  Gardner hit two doubles and Urshela hit a double.  Higashioka hit two homeruns, Urshela hit two homeruns and Maybin hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 6-12 with runners in scoring position and left 5 men on base.  Tauchman and Maybin each had a stolen base. 

Hanser Alberto drew a walk, Trey Mancini had a hit and an RBI and Jonathan Villar had a hit and drew a walk.  Stevie Wilkerson had two hits and an RBI, Jace Peterson had a hit and Richie Martin had a hit.  Wilkerson hit a double and Mancini hit a homerun.  The Orioles were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Villar and Eshelman each committed an error. 

In the fourth Maybin hit an RBI single and Higashioka hit a three-run homerun giving the Yankees a 4-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Mancini hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-1.  IN the fifth Urshela hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 6-1.  In the sixth LeMahieu hit an RBI single, Judge hit an RBI single and Urshela hit a two-run homerun making it a 10-1 game.  Gardner hit an RBI ground out to make it 11-1 and in the ninth Maybin hit a solo homerun and Higashioka hit a two-run homerun to extend the lead to 14-1.  In the ninth Wilkerson hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 14-2 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees earned the three-game sweep and have won eight in a row.  They will head to Toronto for the first of three on Thursday night.

New York Yankees defeat the Boston Red Sox to earn four-game sweep


The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-4.  J.A. Happ started for the Yankees and he pitched ok, the bullpen pitched well.  Cameron Maybin and Kyle Higashioka each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Happ pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Happ won his ninth game of the season.  Luis Cessa pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a walk and striking out three and Chad Green saved his second game of the season pitching an inning with a walk and a strikeout. 

David Price lost his fifth game of the season pitching 2 2/3 innings giving up nine hits and seven runs with two walks and three strikeouts.  Darwinzon Hernandez pitched 1 1/3 innings with two walks and Ryan Weber pitched four innings giving up a hit and no runs with two strikeouts. 

Gleyber Torres drew a walk, Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Didi Gregorius had a hit.  Gio Urshela had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk and Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk and Maybin had two hits and an RBI.  Mike Ford had a hit and an RBI, Higashioka had two hits and Mike Tauchman had a hit and two RBI.  Higashioka and Maybin each hit two doubles and Gardner hit a double.  Judge and Urshela each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Mookie Betts had a hit, J.D. Martinez had two hits and Sam Travis drew a walk.  Andrew Benintendi had a hit and two RBI, Christian Vasquez had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Michael Chavis had two hits and an RBI.  Brock Holt drew a walk, Vasquez and Chavis each hit a homerun and the Red Sox were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

In the first Judge hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the third Urshela hit a two-run homerun, Maybin hit an RBI double and Ford hit an RBI single to push the lead to 5-0.  Tauchman hit a two-run single to extend the lead to 7-0.  In the fifth Vazquez and Chavis each hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 7-2.  In the sixth Benintendi hit a two-run single to cut the lead to 7-4 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees swept the four-game series and will head to Baltimore for a three-game series beginning on Monday night.

New York Yankees salvage final game of series in Boston


The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.  The game took place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts and the final score was 9-6.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Edwin Encarnacion, Gio Urshela and Cameron Maybin each had two hits to lead the offense. 

German pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and nine strikeouts.  German won his 13th game of the season.  Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts, Adam Ottavino pitched 2/3 of an inning givin gup two hits and Zack Britton pitched an inning giving up a hit and two walks with a strikeout.  Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with one of them being earned.  He walked one and struck out two. 

Chris Sale pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up five hits and six runs with three walks and seven strikeouts and he took his tenth loss of the season.  Colten Brewer pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Darwinzon Hernandez pitched an inning giving up a hit and two unearned runs with two walks and two strikeouts and Marcus Walden pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk.  Heath Hembree pitched an inning. 

Aaron Hicks drew two walks, Encarnacion had two hits and Luke Voit drew two walks.  Didi Gregorius had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Urshela had two hits and an RBI and Maybin had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Austin Romine had a hit and two RBI, Urshela hit two doubles and Encarnacion and Maybin each hit a double.  Romine and Gregorius each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Maybin was picked off and Torres and Gregorius each committed an error.  Romine had a passed ball. 

Mookie Betts had an RBI and drew a walk, Rafael Devers had a hit and drew a walk and Xander Bogaerts had three hits.  J.D. Martinez had an RBI and drew a walk, Andrew Benintendi had three hits and four RBI and Mitch Moreland had a hit.  Sam Travis drew a walk, Jackie Bradley Jr. had a hit and Christian Vasquez had a hit.  Bogaerts and Devers each hit a double and Benintendi hit a homerun.  The Red Sox were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Devers, Bradley Jr. and Holt each committed an error.  Brewer had a pickoff. 

In the third Romine hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Gregorius hit a two-run homerun to push the Yankees lead to 4-0.  In the bottom of the fourth Benintendi hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 4-2.  In the sixth Urshela hit an RBI double to push the lead to 5-2 and Maybin hit an RBI single making it 6-2.  In the sixth Martinez hit an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 6-3.  In the seventh Gregorius hit a sac fly and a run scored on an error to make it 8-3.  In the bottom of the seventh Betts hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 8-4.  In the eighth a wild pitch made it 9-4 and Benintendi hit a two-run single in the ninth to cut the lead to 9-6 but that would be the final score. 
The Yankees were able to salvage one of the four games and will be off on Monday before beginning a brief two-game set at home with the Arizona Dia

New York Yankees double up the Tampa Bay Rays


The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-3.  J.A. Happ started for the Yankees and he pitched pretty well and the bullpen was good.  Luke Voit and Cameron Maybin each had three hits to lead the offense. 

Happ pitched five innings giving up seven hits and two runs with three strikeouts.  Happ won his seventh game of the season.  Adam Ottavino pitched an inning with a walk and two strikeouts, Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and Zack Britton pitched an inning giving up a hit.  Aroldis Chapman saved his 19th game of the season pitching an inning and striking out the side. 

Ryne Stanek served as the opener and pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk.  Ryan Yarbrough pitched three innings giving up a hit and struck out two, Chaz Roe pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up five hits and three runs with two strikeouts and Roe lost his third game of the season.  Oliver Drake pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and Andrew Kittredge pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and three strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had two hits and an RBI, Voit had three hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Gary Sanchez had a hit and two RBI.  Edwin Encarnacion had a hit and an RBI, Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk and Maybin had three hits and an RBI.  Voit hit a double and Maybin and Encarnacion each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Travis d’Arnaud had two hits and an RBI, Tommy Pham had two hits and Avisail Garcia had a hit and an RBI.  Willy Adames had a hit, Keven Kiermaier had a hit and Guillermo Heredia had a hit and drew a walk.  Mike Zunino had a hit and an RBI, Joey Wendle drew a walk and Pham and d’Arnaud each hit a double.  The Rays were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

In the first Sanchez hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the second Zunino hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  In the third Garcia hit an RBI single to give the Rays a 2-1 lead.  In the fifth LeMahieu hit an RBI single to tie the game at two, Voit hit an RBI single and Sanchez hit an RBI single to make it a 4-2 game.  In the seventh d’Arnaud hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 4-3.  In the bottom of the seventh Maybin hit a solo homerun to push the Yankees lead to 5-3.  In the eighth Encarnacion hit a solo homerun making it a 6-3 game and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees have taken the first two games of the series and will try and sweep the series on Wednesday afternoon. 

New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays behind a dominant Masahiro Tanaka


The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 3-0.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched great.  Cameron Maybin led the offense with three hits. 

Tanaka pitched a complete game shutout giving up two hits and he walked one and struck out ten.  Tanaka earned his fifth win of the season. 

Yonny Chirinos pitched six innings giving up five hits and three runs with a walk and six strikeouts and he lost his third game of the season.  Jake Faria pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three hits and a walk with two strikeouts and Adam Kolarek pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout. 

DJ LeMahieu had a hit and two RBI, Luke Voit had a hit and drew a walk and Aaron Hicks had a hit.  Gary Sanchez had a hit, Maybin had three hits and an RBI and Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk.  Hicks hit a double and LeMahieu and Maybin each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

Austin Meadows had a hit and drew a walk, Willy Adames had a hit.   Meadows was caught stealing and Kiermaier committed an error. 

In the third LeMahieu hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  IN the fifth Maybin hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-0 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees pound the Chicago White Sox to split the series


The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois and the final score was 10-3.  James Paxton started for the Yankees and he pitched well, the bullpen did a good job and DJ LeMahieu, Brett Gardner, Gio Urshela, Austin Romine and Cameron Maybin each had two hits. 

Paxton won his fourth game of the season and pitched six innings giving up eight hits and two runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Adam Ottavino pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts, David Hale pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Zach Britton pitched a perfect inning. 

Odrisamer Despaigne pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up nine hits and seven runs with four walks and five strikeouts.  He lost his second game of the season.  Jose Ruiz pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout, Aaron Bummer pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Thyago Vieira pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk.  Alex Colome pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

LeMahieu had two hits, Luke Voit had a hit and drew two walks and Gleyber Torres drew three walks.  Clint Frazier had a hit, Gardner had two hits and four RBI and Urshela had two hits and an RBI.  Mike Tauchman drew a walk, Romine had two hits and four RBI and Maybin had two hits and an RBI.  Romine and Urshela each hit a double and Maybin hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 5-14 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Maybin was caught stealing. 

Leury Garcia had a hit, Tim Anderson had a hit and Jose Abreu had three hits and an RBI.  James McCann had two hits and two RBI, Juan Moncada drew a walk and Jose Rondon drew a walk.  Welington Castillo had a hit, Yonder Alonso had a hit and Abreu and McCann each hit a homerun.  The White Sox were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

In the first Abreu hit a solo homerun to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead.  In the third Gardner hit a two-run single to give the Yankee a 2-1 lead.  Urshela hit an RBI single and Romine hit a two-run single making it a 5-1 game.  In the fifth Romine hit a two-run double to push the Yankees lead to 7-1.  In the bottom of the fifth McCann hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 7-2.  In the sixth Gardner hit into an RBI ground out to make it a 8-2 game.  In the seventh Maybin hit a solo homerun making it 9-2.  In the eighth Gardner hit an RBI single and it was 10-2.  In the bottom of the eighth McCann hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 10-3 and that would be the final score. 
The Yankees ended up with a four-game split and will return home to take on the Tampa Bay Rays for a three-game series beginning on Monday night

New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians to salvage series


The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 7-6.  Chad Green served as the opener and pitched well and the bullpen mostly did a good job with a couple of guys not doing their job.  DJ LeMahieu, Luke Voit, Clint Frazier and Cameron Maybin each had two hits to lead the Yankees offense. 

Green pitched two innings giving up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts.  Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched three perfect innings with two strikeouts, Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up four hits and four runs with a strikeout and Adam Ottavino pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run.  Zack Britton pitched an inning giving up a walk, Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run with a walk and a strikeout and he picked up his first win of the season after blowing his second save of the season.  Stephen Tarpley picked up his first save of the season pitching a perfect inning with three strikeouts. 

Shane Bieber pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up five hits and five runs with two walks and four strikeouts.  A.J. Cole pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three walks, Nick Goody pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and two walks with three strikeouts and Tyler Clippard pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two.  Tyler Olson pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and two strikeouts, Adam Cimber pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Oliver Perez lost his first game of the season pitching 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout. 

LeMahieu had two hits and an RBI, Aaron Hicks had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Voit had two hits and two RBI and drew a walk and Gray Sanchez had a hit and drew a walk.  Gleyber Torres drew a walk, Frazier had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Brett Gardner had a hit and two RBI.  Gio Urshela drew four walks, Maybin had two hits and Hicks, Sanchez, Frazier, Maybin and Voit each hit a double.  Gardner hit a homerun and the Yankees were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.  Frazier was caught stealing and Gregorius and Chapman each committed an error. 

Oscar Mercado had a hit, Carlos Santana had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Mike Freeman had a hit and two RBI.  Jose Ramirez had two hits, Roberto Perez drew two walks and Jake Bauers had a hit and an RBI.  Leonys Martin had a hit and an RBI including a homerun, Freeman and Bauers each hit a homerun and the Indians were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Ramirez had a stolen base. 

In the second Gardner hit a two-run homerun and LeMahieu hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  Voit hit a two-run double and it was 5-0.  In the sixth Martin hit a solo homerun, Santana hit an RBI single and Freeman hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 5-4.  In the seventh Bauers hit a solo homerun to tie the game at five.  In the ninth Frazier hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 6-5 lead.  In the bottom of the ninth Lindor reached on an error and a run scored to tie the game at six.  In the tenth Hicks hit an RBI double to give the Yankees back the lead at 7-6 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees salvaged one game and ended a rough road trip at 2-4.  They will return home for a brief two game series with the New York Mets.

New York Yankees win rubber game against the San Diego Padres


The New York Yankees defeated the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-0.  James Paxton started for the Yankees and pitched well and the bullpen was good.  Luke Voit, Gleyber Torres and Cameron Maybin each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Paxton pitched four innings giving up two walks and he struck out seven.  Chad Green pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Adam Ottavino pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Jonathan Holder won his fourth game of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and he struck out one.  Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched an inning giving up two hits and he walked one.   

Chris Paddack pitched five innings giving up six hits and four runs with a walk and six strikeouts and he lost his third game of the season.  Adam Warren pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with two being earned.  He struck out one and Luis Perdomo pitched 1 2/3 innings with a walk and two strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks, Voit had two hits and an RBI and Torres had two hits and two RBI.  Brett Gardner had a hit and an RBI, Gio Urshela had a hit and an RBI and Maybin had two hits.  Austin Romine had a hit, Voit hit a triple and LeMahieu, Urshela, Torres and Voit each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Maybin had two stolen bases and Torres committed an error. 

Wil Myers had a hit, Manny Machado drew two walks and Eric Hosmer had a hit.  Hunter Renfroe had a hit, Austin Allen had a hit and Manuel Margot drew a walk.  Allen hit a double and the Padres were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Myers had a stolen base and Hedges committed an error. 

In the first LeMahieu and Voit went back-to-back with homeruns to lead off the game and give them a quick 2-0 lead.  In the second Urshela hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-0.  In the fifth Gardner hit a sac fly to make it a 4-0 game and in the sixth a stolen base by Maybin and a throwing error allowed a run to score and make it a 5-0 game.  In the seventh Torres hit a two-run homerun and the lead was 7-0 and that was the final score. 

The Yankees won two out of three in the series and took their eighth straight series for the first time since 1998.  They will now face the Red Sox in a four-game series at home beginning on Thursday night.

New York Yankees defeat the Seattle Mariners in walk-off fashion


The New York Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-4.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the bullpen was good.  DJ LeMahieu, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela and Cameron Maybin all led the offense with two hits each. 

Tanaka pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up five hits and two runs.  He walked two and struck out four.  Jonathan Holder pitched to two batters and got them both out, Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up three hits and two unearned runs and Joe Harvey won his first game of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and he struck out one. 

Marco Gonzales pitched six innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and three strikeouts.  Cory Gearrin pitched an inning giving up two hits, Brandon Brennan pitched an inning giving up a run and two walks and he struck out two and Anthony Swarzak lost his second game of the season and blew his third save.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and three runs and Roenis Elias pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

LeMahieu had two hits, an RBI and drew two walks, Clint Frazier had a hit and Torres had two hits.  Urshela had two hits and two RBI, Maybin had two hits and Brett Gardner had an RBI and drew a walk.  Urshela hit a double and a homerun and the Yankees were 1-11 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Maybin had a stolen base and Frazier and Urshela each committed an error. 

Dee Gordon had two hits, Mitch Haniger had a hit and Daneil Vogelbach had a hit.  Edwin Encarnacion had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Domingo Santana had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Jay Bruce had three hits and an RBI.  Ryan Healy had a hit and an RBI, Bruce hit two doubles and Encarnacion hit a homerun.  The Mariners were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Gordon had a stolen base and Gonzales committed an error. 

In the second Healy hit a sac fly to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead.  In the third Gardner hit an RBI ground out to tie the game at one.  In the sixth Encarnacion hit a solo homerun to give the Mariners a 2-1 lead.  In the eighth Santana hit an RBI single and Bruce hit an RBI double to push their lead to 4-1.  In the bottom of the eighth a wild pitch cut the lead to 4-2.  In the ninth Urshela hit a two-run homerun to tie the game and then LeMahieu hit an RBI walk-off single to give the Yankees a 5-4 victory. 

The Yankees have won the first two games of the four-game series and will play again on Wednesday night.
