The American League Division series
both ended in a sweep. The Cleveland
Indians defeated the Boston Red sox in three straight and the Toronto Blue Jays
defeated the Texas Rangers in three straight games. You can say they were non competitive series
but there were a bunch of good games despite the two sweeps. The Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays
will meet in the American League championship series. Here are the scores of the Indians/Red Sox
series. Game 1 was 5-4, Game 2 6-0 and game 3 was 4-3. You can see that there were 2 one run games
making it a lot closer then it would appear.
In the Toronto series the scores
were 10-1, 5-3 and 7-6 in ten innings.
This series wasn't as close as the other one but it also wasn't as one
sided as it seems.
In the National League the Cubs won
their division series over the San Francisco Giants three games to one. The scores of these games were 1-0, 5-2, 6-5
in 13 innings and 6-5 again to close out the series. The Giants were very competitive as you would
expect from an even year as they have been very tough in the postseason during
those years. The Cubs were the best team
all year and I am not surprised they are back in the NLCS but it was a lot
harder then it seemed. The Cubs will
await the winner of the game five between the Washington Nationals and Los
Angeles Dodgers. I have no idea what to
think of game five but I am picking the Cubs to finally advance to the World
Series against either team. They have
their pitching set up the way they want and either one of the other teams will
not have their pitching set up.
It should be a great game five and
a good NLCS. I am expecting a good ALCS
as well and I am going to pick the Toronto Blue Jays to win and advance to the
World Series. Enjoy the baseball
everyone.
