New York Mets lose again out west



The New York Mets were defeated by the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.  The game took place at AT+T Park in San Francisco, California and the final score was 8-1.  Seth Lugo started for the Mets as Steven Matz start was skipped.  He pitched ok but the bullpen wasn't very good.  Jose Reyes led the offense with four hits. 

Lugo pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  He lost his second game of the season.  Jerry Blevins pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits, Josh Smoker pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with one of them being earned and Jeurys Familia pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two unearned runs.  Erik Goeddel pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and a run with a strikeout. 

Johnny Cueto pitched seven innings giving up eight hits and a run with two strikeouts.  He earned his 14th win of the season.  Hunter Strickland pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Javier Lopez pitched 2/3 of an inning and George Kontos pitched an inning giving up two hits. 

Reyes had four hits, Kelly Johnson had a hit and Yoenis Cespedes had a hit.  James Loney had two hits, Curtis Granderson had a hit and an RBI and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit.  Rene Rivera had a hit, Reyes hit a double and Granderson hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Loney and Cabrera each committed an error.  Granderson had an outfield assist. 

Denard Span had four hits and two RBI, Angel Pagan had two hits and Brandon Belt had two hits.  Brandon Crawford had a hit.  Hunter Pence had two hits, Eduardo Nunez had a hit and an RBI and Joe Panik had a hit and drew a walk.  Ehire Adrianza had a hit and an RBI, Conor Gillaspie had a hit and two RBI and Pence and Nunez hit a double.  Belt  hit a triple and Gillaspie hit a homerun.  The Giants were 5-13 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Nunez had a stolen base, Pence had an outfield assist. 

Granderson hit a solo homerun in the second to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Span hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  In the seventh Adrianza hit an RBI single to give the Giants a 2-1 lead and Span hit an RBI single to make it 3-1.  In the eighth Nunez hit into an RBI force out and it was 4-1 Giants.  Panik reached on an error and two runs scored making it a 6-1 game.  In the eighth Gillaspie hit a two run homerun to push the lead to 8-1 and that would be the final score of the game. 

The two teams will play game three of four on Saturday afternoon.   

New York Yankees rough up the Anaheim Angels out west



The New York Yankees defeated the Anaheim Angels on Friday night.  The game took place at Angel Stadium of Anaheim in Anaheim, California and the final score was 7-0.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched great.  The bullpen only had two work for 1 1/3 innings but they did their job as well.  Gary Sanchez and Jacoby Ellsbury each had three hits but the big story was Ronald Torreyes who had four hits including his first major league homerun. 

Tanaka pitched 7 2/3 innings giving up five hits and no runs with no walks and nine strikeouts.  He won his 10th game of the season.  Tommy Layne pitched to one batter and walked him, Adam Warren pitched to one batter and struck him out and Kirby Yates pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Jered Weaver started for the Angels and pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up ten hits and five runs with no walks and two strikeouts.  He lost his 11th game of the season.  Mike Morin pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs with a strikeout and Brett Oberholtzer pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a walk with a strikeout. 

Ellsbury had three hits and two RBI, Didi Gregorius had two hits and two RBI and Sanchez had three hits and drew a walk.  Brian McCann had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Hicks had two hits and Torreyes had four  hits and two RBI.  Torreyes, and Gregorius each hit a double and Sanchez hit two doubles.  Ellsbury and Torreyes each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 3-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Sanchez had a stolen base, the first of his career. 

Gregorio Petit had a hit, Kole Calhoun drew a walk and Mike Trout had two hits.  Albert Pujols had a hit, Jefry Marte had a hit and Jett Bandy had a hit.  The Angels were 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Petit committed an error and Trout had an outfield assist. 

In the first Ellsbury hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the third Ellsbury hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0.  In the fifth the homerun barrage came on as Torreyes and McCann all homered to give the Yankees a 6-0 lead.  The final run was scored in the sixth on a Gregorius RBI double to make it 7-0 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday night and then finish their series on Sunday afternoon.   

New York Mets open up series in San Francisco with another loss



The New York Mets were defeated by the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night.  The game took place at AT+T Park in San Francisco, California and the final score was 10-7.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched very poorly.  Justin Ruggiano led the Mets offense with three hits and four RBI. 

deGrom pitched five innings giving up 13 hits and eight runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  He lost his sixth game of the season.  Jerry Blevins pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out two, Hansel Robles pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with two walks and Josh Edgin struck out the only batter that he faced.  Addison Reed pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he walked one. 

Madison Bumgarner pitched five innings giving up six hits and four runs with three walks and six strikeouts.  He won his 12th game of the season.  Cory Gearrin pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs, Will Smith pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and Derek Law pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a walk with a strikeout.  Javier Lopez pitched to one batter and retired him, Sergio Romo pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out two and Santiago Casilla pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and earned his 28th save of the season. 

Jose Reyes had a hit, T.J. Rivera had two hits and Jay Bruce had a hit.  Wilmer Flores had a hit and drew a walk, Travis d'Arnaud had two hits and drew a walk and Ruggiano had three hits and four RBI.  Kelly Johnson had a hit and drew a walk, Ty Kelly had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk and Rene Rivera had an RBI.  Kelly hit a triple, Ruggiano hit a homerun and the Mets were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Kelly had an outfield assist.

In the fourth Ruggiano hit a grand slam to give the Mets a 4-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Pence hit an RBI single, Nunez hit a two run triple and Bumgarner hit a two run homerun to give the Giants a 5-4 lead.  In the fifth Nunez hit an RBI single to push the lead to 6-4.  Panik hit a two run triple and the lead was 8-4 still in the fifth.  In the sixth Kelly hit a two run triple and the Mets cut the lead to 8-6.  Rivera hit an RBI ground out in the sixth and the lead was cut to one at 8-7.  In the eighth Posey hit a two run double and the lead was 10-7 which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of their series on Friday night.  They will then play Saturday afternoon and Sunday night.

New York Mets finally get a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks



The New York Mets defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and the final score was 7-5.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched ok, the bullpen did a pretty good job.  T.J. Rivera led the offense with four hits. 

Syndergaard pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with two of them being earned.  He walked two and struck out eight and won his 10th game of the season.  Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and struck him out, Hansel Robles pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and he struck out one and Addison Reed pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out one.  Jeurys Famila saved his 40th game of the season pitching a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Braden Shipley pitched five innings giving up ten hits and seven runs with six of them being earned.  He walked one and he lost his second game of the season.  Daniel Hudson pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two, Patrick Corbin pitched two innings giving up a hit and he walked one and struck out two.  Edwin Escobar pitched an inning giving up a walk. 

Jose Reyes had two hits and an RBI with a walk, Curtis Granderson had an RBI and Jay Bruce had two hits and drew a walk.  Kelly Johnson had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Rivera had four hits and Alejandro De Aza had two hits and an RBI.  Rene Rivera had an RBI, Syndergaard had a hit and two RBI and De Aza hit two doubles and Bruce hit a double.  Reyes hit a triple and Syndergaard and Johnson each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 3-8 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Reyes was caught stealing and T.J. Rivera committed two errors. 

Jean Segura had three hits, Micheal Bourn had a hit and Paul Goldschmidt had a hit and drew a walk.  Jake Lamb drew a walk, Yasmany Tomas had a hit and an RBI and Welington Castrillo had a hit and drew a walk.  Mitch Haniger had two hits and three RBI, Bourn, Segura, Goldschmidt and Haniger each hit a double.  Haniger hit a triple and Tomas hit a homerun.  The Diamondbacks were 4-16 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Bourn, Lamb, Segura and Gosselin each had a stolen base.  Bourn and Tomas each committed an error. 

In the fourth Tomas hit a solo homerun to give the Diamondbacks to give them a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth Rene Rivera hit a sac fly to tie the game at one.  Syndergaard hit a two run homerun to give the Mets a 3-1 lead.  Granderson hit a sac fly and it was 4-1 Mets still in the fifth.  Johnson hit a solo homerun in the sixth to make it 5-1.  De Aza hit an RBI double to make it 6-1 and Reyes hit an RBI single to push the lead to 7-1 still in the sixth.  In the bottom of the sixth Haniger hit a two run triple to cut the lead to 7-3 Mets.  Gosselin reached on a fielding error to make it 7-4 and Haniger hit an RBI double and it was 7-5 which would be the final score.  The two teams will play the final game of the series on Wednesday night. 

New York Yankees drop finale to the Toronto Blue Jays and lose first series in a while



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-4.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and he struggled, the bullpen pitched well.  Gary Sanchez hit another  homerun and had two hits and Aaron Judge had two hits. 

Sabathia pitched six innings giving up nine hits and seven runs.  He walked one and struck out 12 and took his tenth loss of the season.  Kirby Yates pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one, Tommy Layne pitched an inning walking one and struck out two and Anthony Swarzak pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

J.A. Happ pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with a walk and nine strikeouts.  He won his 17th game of the season.  Joaquin Benoit pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and Roberto Osuna pitched 1 1/3 innings striking out two and earning his 27th save of the season. 

Brett Gardner had a hit, Chase Headley had two hits and an RBI and Starlin Castro had two hits and an RBI.  Sanchez had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Judge had two hits and an RBI and Sanchez and Castro each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Headley committed an error. 

Devon Travis had a hit, Edwin Encarnacion had a hit and Russell Martin had three hits and an RBI.  Troy Tulowitzki had a hit, Melvin Upton Jr. had two hits, three RBI and drew a walk and Ezequiel Carrera had a hit and an RBI.  Drew Barney had two hits and two RBI, Darrell Ceciliani drew a walk and Carrera, Barney and Martin each hit a double.  Upton Jr. hit a homerun and the Jays were 4-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

In the second Carrera hit an RBI double to give the Jays a 1-0 lead, Barney hit a two run double to make it 3-0.  In the second Sanchez hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1 and in the fourth Castro hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-2.  In the fifth Martin hit an RBI single to give the Jays a 4-2 lead.  Upton Jr. hit a three run homerun to push the lead to 7-2 still in the fifth.  Headley hit a solo homerun in the sixth to cut the lead to 7-3 and in the eighth Judge hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 7-4.  7-4 would be the final score.  The Yankees will have the day off on Thursday and then begin a three game series in Anaheim on Friday night.   

New York Yankees blow big lead in a bad loss to the Toronto Blue Jays



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 12-6.  Michael Pineda started for the Yankees and pitched great but then the rain came and after a delay he couldn't come back and the bullpen blew the game.  Gary Sanchez led the offense with three hits and four RBI and Didi Gregorius had two hits and two RBI. 

Pineda pitched five innings giving up four hits and no runs with no walks and two strikeouts.  Anthony Swarzak pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up four hits and four runs with two strikeouts, Tommy Layne pitched to one batter and retired him and Tyler Clippard pitched an inning with two strikeouts.  Adam Warren lost his third game of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and four runs with a walk, Chasen Shreve pitched not recording an out and giving up two hits and four runs with two walks and Blake Parker pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out two. 

Marco Estrada pitched four innings and gave up five hits and five runs with no walks and two strikeouts.  Scott Feldman won his sixth game of the season pitching three innings and giving up three hits and a run with five strikeouts, Jason Grilli pitched an inning striking out two and Ryan Tepera pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.

In the first Gregorius hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the second Sanchez hit a solo homerun to make it 2-0.  In the fourth Sanchez hit his second homerun which was a three run homerun to make it 5-0 Yankees.  In the fifth Gregorius hit an RBI single to push the lead to 6-0.  In the sixth Donaldson hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 6-1.  Tulowitzki hit a two run homerun and it was 6-3 Yankees.  Martin hit a solo homerun and the lead was cut to 6-4.  In the eighth Encarnacion hit a two run homerun to tie the game at six.  Martin hit a two run homerun and the Jays took an 8-6 lead, Travis hit an RBI single to push the lead to 9-6 and Donaldson walked to make it 10-6.  Encarnacion grounded into a force out to make it 11-6 and Saunders hit an RBI double making it 12-6 all in the eighth. 

The two teams have split the first two games of the series.  The final game of the three game series will be played on Wednesday afternoon.  The Yankees will then be off on Thursday and head to the West Coast to take on the Angels beginning on Friday night in Anaheim.

New York Yankees defeat the Toronto Blue Jays behind strong pitching



The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 1-0.  Chad Green started for the Yankees and he was great and the bullpen shut it down as well.  Aaron Judge continued his hot start to his MLB career with an RBI double and he had two hits and Gary Sanchez also had two hits. 

Green pitched six shutout innings giving up two hits.  He walked none and struck out eleven and earned his second win of the season.  Tyler Clippard pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Adam Warren pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Dellin Betances earned his fifth save of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he walked one. 

R.A. Dickey lost his 13th game of the season pitching five innings and giving up four hits and a run.  He walked four and struck out six.  Joe Biagini pitched an inning giving up two hits and a walk with two strikeouts, Brett Cecil pitched an inning giving up a walk and Ryan Tepera pitched an inning giving up two hits and a walk with a strikeout. 

Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit, Chase Headley had a hit and drew two walks and Mark Teixeira drew a walk.  Brian McCann had a hit and drew two walks, Sanchez had two hits and drew a walk and Judge had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Aaron Hicks had a hit, Ellsbury, Judge and Headley each hit a double adn the Yankees were 2-18 with runners in scoring position and left 14 men on base. 

Josh Donaldson had a hit, Troy Tulowitzki had a hit and Darrell Ceciliani had a hit.  Josh Thole drew a walk, Ceciliani hit a double and the Blue Jays were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

In the fourth Judge hit an RBI double to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead and that was the only run of the game.  The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night. 

The Mets win a series over the San Diego Padres



The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-1.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and pitched great and the bullpen closed it out.  T.J. Rivera led the offense with a couple of hits and RBI. 

Matz pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up a hit and no runs with two walks and eight strikeouts.  He won his ninth game of the season.  Addison Reed pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Gabriel Ynoa pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout. 

Clayton Richard lost his second game of the season pitching five innings and giving up three hits and two runs with three walks and three strikeouts.  Leonel Campos pitched two innings with two walks and two strikeouts, Jose Dominguez pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and three runs with two walks and Carlos Villanueva pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Jose Reyes had a hit, Ty Kelly drew three walks and Neil Walker had a hit and an RBI.  Jay Bruce drew two walks, Flores had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Rivera had two hits and two RBI.  Matz drew a walk, Rivera hit a double and Flores and Walker each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Reyes had a stolen base and Flores was caught stealing. 

Travis Jankowski drew a walk, Wil Myers had a hit and Yangervis Solarte had a hit and an RBI.  Alexei Ramirez had a hit, Derek Norris drew a walk and Ryan Schimpf had a hit.  The Padres were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Jankowski was caught stealing and Dickerson and Norris each committed an error.  Richard had a pickoff. 

In the second Flores hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Walker hit a solo homerun to push the Mets lead to 2-0.  In the eighth a walk and wild pitch let another run score and make it 3-0.  Rivera hit a two run double and it was 5-0 Mets.  In the ninth Solarte hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 5-1 and that would be the final score.   

The New York Mets walk off in the 11th against the San Diego Padres



The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched well and the bullpen was ok although Jeurys Familia blew the save.  Wilmer Flores had three hits to lead the offense. 

deGrom pitched seven innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and nine strikeouts.  Addison Reed pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Familia blew his third save of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Jerry Blevins pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit.  Erik Goeddel pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out one and Gabriel Ynoa won his first game of the season pitching a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Jarred Cosart pitched six innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts.  Jose Dominguez pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout, Brandon Morrow pitched an inning and Ryan Buchter pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one.  Brad Hand pitched an inning with two strikeouts and Brandon Maurer pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run and he lost his third game of the season. 

Jose Reyes drew a walk, Neil Walker had two hits and an RBI and James Loney had a hit.  Flores had three hits and an RBI, Alejandro De Aza drew a walk and Travis d'Arnaud had a hit and drew a walk.  Kelly Johnson had an RBI and the Mets were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

Travis Jankowski drew a walk, Wil Myers had a hit and an RBI and Yangervis Solarte had a hit and an RBI.  Alex Dickerson had two hits, Ryan Schimpf had a hit and Solarte and Myers each hit a homerun.  The Padres left one man on base, Dickerson was caught stealing, Bethancourth, Myers and Noonan each committed an error. 

In the first Walker hit an RBI single giving the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Solarte hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one.  In the bottom of the seventh Johnson hit a sac fly to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.  In the ninth Myers hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the bottom of the 11th the Mets walked off  when Flores reached on a fielder's choice.  The Mets won the game 3-2.   

New York Yankees get blown out by the Tampa Bay Rays as Luis Severino struggles



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 12-3.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he got knocked around.  Aaron Judge hit another homerun and Gary Sanchez also hit a homerun. 

Severino pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up eight hits and seven runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  He lost his eighth game of the season.  Luis Cessa pitched three innings giving up five hits and five runs with a walk and two strikeouts, Blake Parker pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Chasen Shreve pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Jake Odorizzi won his seventh game of the season pitching six innings and giving up five hits and three runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Dylan Floro pitched an inning giving up a hit, Ryan Garton pitched an inning giving up a hit and Alex Colome pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out a batter.

Logan Forsythe had two hits and an RBI, Kevin Kiermaier had a hit and drew a walk and Evan Longoria had three hits and four RBI.  Brad Miller had a hit, Matt Duffy had two hits and an RBI and Nick Franklin had three hits and three RBI.  Corey Dickerson had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk,  Steven Souza Jr. had a hit and Bobby Wilson had a hit.  Forsythe, Franklin and Kiermaier each hit a double and Longoria hit two doubles.  Forsythe, Dickerson and Franklin each hit a homerun and the Rays were 5-14 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

In the first Longoria hit an RBI double to give the Rays a 1-0 lead.  In the third Forsythe hit a solo homerun and the Rays had a 2-0 lead.  Judge hit a solo  homerun in the third to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the fourth Dickerson hit a three run homerun and the Rays lead was now four runs.  Longoria hit a three run double and the lead ballooned to 8-1.  In the fourth Sanchez hit a two run homerun and it was 8-3 Rays.  In the seventh Duffy hit an RBI single and Franklin hit a three run homerun to make it a 12-3 game which would be the final score. 

The Yankees won two out of three for the third straight series.  They will remain at home to take on the Toronto Blue Jays in a three game set beginning on Monday night.

New York Yankees rookies start off with a bang in Yankees victory



The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-4.  Masahiro Tanaka started and his line didn't look great but he was hurt by only one batter.  The bullpen did a good job and Aaron Judge and Tyler Austin each had a homerun and two hits in their MLB debuts. 

Tanaka pitched seven innings giving up five hits and four runs.  He didn't walk a batter and he struck out eight to win his ninth game of the season.  Tyler Clippard pitched a perfect inning, Anthony Swarzak pitched to one batter and gave up a hit and Tommy Layne pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Matt Andriese pitched five innings giving up eight hits and six runs with no walks and eight strikeouts.  He lost his fourth game of the season.  Erasmo Ramirez pitched two innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout and Danny Farquhar pitched a perfect inning striking out the side. 

Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit, Aaron Hicks had two hits and three RBI and Chase Headley drew a walk.  Didi Gregorius had two hits and two RBI, Starlin Castro had two hits and an RBI and Austin had two hits and an RBI.  Judge had two hits and an RBI, Gregorius hit a double and Austin, Judge, Castro, Hicks and Gregorius each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Hicks and Austin each had a stolen base. 

Kevin Kiermaier had a hit, Evan Longoria had two hits and Brad Miller had two hits and four RBI.  Matt Duffy had a hit, Miller hit two homeruns and the Rays were 1-1 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base. 

In the second Austin hit a solo homerun and one batter later Judge hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Miller hit a three run homerun to give the Rays a 3-2 lead.  Castro hit a solo homerun in the fourth to tie the game at three.  In the fifth Hicks hit a three run homerun to give the Yankees a 6-3 lead.  Miller hit his second homerun of the game in the sixth to cut the lead to 6-4 and in the seventh Gregorius hit a two run homerun to push the lead to 8-4 and that would be the final score of the game. 

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Sunday afternoon.  The Yankees will be looking for the sweep.
