New York Yankees defeat the Red Sox for eighth straight win and take over first place


The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 9-6.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he struggled but battled through.  Brett Gardner and Aaron Judge each had three hits to lead the offense. 

Tanaka pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts.  Chad Green pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts, Chasen Shreve pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Jonathan Holder picked up his first win of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Aroldis Chapman saved his ninth game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit with three strikeouts. 

Rick Porcello pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and five runs with three walks and three strikeouts.  Brian Johnson pitched a perfect inning, Carson Smith pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Matt Barnes took his first loss of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning and giving up a hit and two runs with a walk.  Craig Kimbrel blew his second save of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with two strikeouts. 

Gardner had three hits and two RBI, Judge had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk and Didi Gregorius drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit and two RBI, Gary Sanchez had two hits and an RBI and Aaron Hicks had an RBI and drew a walk.  Neil Walker had a hit, Miguel Andujar had a hit and Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk.  Gardner hit two doubles, Stanton and Walker hit a double.  Gardner hit a triple and Judge hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 5-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Hicks had a stolen base. 

Mookie Betts drew a walk, Andrew Benintendi had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks and Hanley Ramirez had a hit and two RBI.  J.D. Martinez had two hits and drew a walk, Xander Bogaerts had three hits and Mitch Moreland had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk.  Eduardo Nunez had a hit and an RBI, Rafael Devers had two hits and Sandy Leon had a hit.  Bogaerts and Nunez each hit a double.  Moreland, Benintendi and Ramirez each hit a homerun.  The Red Sox were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Porcello committed an error. 

In the first Judge hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the second Moreland hit a two-run homerun to give the Red Sox a 2-1 lead.  In the third Stanton hit a two-run double and Hicks hit a sac fly to give the Yankees back the lead at 4-2.  In the fifth Benintendi hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-3.  Sanchez hit a sac fly in the bottom of the fifth to push the lead to 5-3.  In the sixth Nunez hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 5-4.  In the seventh Ramirez hit a two-run homerun to give the Red Sox the lead at 6-5.  In the eighth Gardner hit a two-run triple giving the Yankees a 7-6 lead and Judge hit a two-run homerun to make it 9-6 which would be the final score. 

The Yankees have won the first two of three in this series.  The Yankees have won eight in a row overall and 17 of 18.  They have also won 11 straight home games.  They will look for the sweep on Thursday night.

New York Mets lose to the Cincinnati Reds


The New York Mets were defeated by the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio and the final score was 7-2.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Asdrubal Cabrera had two hits and Wilmer Flores had two hits to lead the offense. 

Vargas pitched four innings giving up six hits and four runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Seth Lugo pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, AJ Ramos pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run with a strikeout and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and got him out.  Hansel Robles pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and Paul Sewald pitched 1 1/3 perfect innings. 

Luis Castillo pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and seven strikeouts and he won his second game of the season.  Amir Garrett pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two walks and a strikeout, David Hernandez pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Wandy Peralta pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.  Austin Brice pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Cabrera had two hits, Yoenis Cespedes drew two walks and Jay Bruce drew a walk.  Adrian Gonzalez had an RBI and drew a walk, Amed Rosario had a hit and Juan Lagares had a hit.  Flores had two hits and an RBI, Flores hit a homerun and the Mets were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Cabrera committed an error. 

Jose Peraza had a hit, Scott Schebler had two hits and Joey Votto drew a walk.  Eugenio Suarez had three hits and four RBI, Scooter Gennett had a hit and two RBI and Adam Duvall had a hit and drew two walks.  Tucker Barnhart had three hits and an RBI, Billy Hamilton had a hit and Suarez and Schebler each hit a double.  Barnhart hit a triple and Gennett hit a homerun.  The Reds were 3-13 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

In the first Suarez hit a two-run single to give the Reds a 2-0 lead.  In the third Suarez hit an RBI double, Barnhart hit an RBI single to push the lead to 4-0.  In the sixth Flores hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-1.  Gonzalez drew an RBI walk and the lead was cut to 4-2.  In the seventh Suarez hit an RBI single, Gennett hit a two-run homerun and it was 7-2 Reds which was the final score of the game.

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Giancarlo Stanton led the offense with two homeruns. 

Severino pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs with 11 strikeouts.  David Robertson won his third game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he struck out two, Chad Green pitched an inning giving up a hit and Aroldis Chapman saved his eighth game of the season pitching an inning and striking out a batter. 

Drew Pomeranz pitched six innings giving up four hits and two runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  Heath Hembree lost his first game of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with two walks, Joe Kelly pitched 1 1/3 innings givin gup a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Carson Smith pitched to one batter and struck him out.

In the second Stanton hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Stanton hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 2-0.  In the fifth Benintendi hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the seventh Betts hit an RBI triple to tie the game at two and in the bottom of the seventh Judge hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Wednesday night.  The Yankees have won seven in a row and 16 of 17 to move into a first place tie with the Red Sox.

New York Mets end six game losing streak with a victory in Cincinnati


The New York Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.  The game took place at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio and the final score was 7-6.  P.J. Conlon started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Adrian Gonzalez led the offense with three hits, including two homeruns. 

Conlon pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Paul Sewald pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs, Robert Gsellman earned his fourth win of the season pitching 2 2/3 innings and giving up a hit and a run and Jeurys Familia saved his 10th game of the season pitching a perfect inning with two strikeouts. 

Homer Bailey lost his fifth game of the season pitching four innings and giving up eight hits and six runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Jackson Stephens pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout, Jared Hughes pitched two perfect inning with four strikeouts and Raisel Iglesias pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out a batter. 

Michael Conforto had two hits and an RBI, Yoenis Cespedes had two hits and an RBI and Jay Bruce had two hits, two RBI and drew two walks.  Gonzalez had three hits and two RBI, Jose Lobaton had a hit and Conlon had a hit.  Amed Rosario had two hits and an RBI, Lobaton hit a doubule and Cespedes and Rosario each hit two doubles.  Conforto and Bruce each hit a homerun and Gonzalez hit two homeruns.  The Mets were 3-11 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Joey Votto drew a walk, Eugenio Suarez had two hits and an RBI and Scooter Gennett had two hits and two RBI.  Adam Duvall had a hit, Tucker Barnhart had two hits and an RBI and Alex Blandino drew a walk.  Scott Schebler had an RBI, Billy Hamilton had a hit and an RBI and Suarez, Gennett and Barnhart each hit a double.  Hamilton, Suarez and Gennett each hit a homerun.  The Reds were 2-4 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

In the first Conforto hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the second Rosario hit a sac fly to push the lead to 2-0.  In the third Bruce hit a two-run homerun to extend the Mets lead to 4-0.  Gonzalez hit a solo homerun and it was 5-0.  In the bottom of the third Hamilton hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the fourth Cespedes hit a sac fly to push the lead to 6-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Gennett hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 6-2.  Barnhart hit an RBI double and it was 6-3.  In the fifth Gonzalez hit a solo homerun to make it 7-3.  Suarez hit a solo homerun and it was 7-4.  Schebler hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 7-5 and in the eighth Gennett hit a solo homerun to cut it to 7-6 and that would be the final score.   

New York Mets lose to the Colorado Rockies for sixth straight loss


The New York Mets were defeated by the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and pitched well but was a little wild.  The offense only managed five hits. 

Syndergaard pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs with four walks and five strikeouts.  Jerry Blevins pitched to two batters and retired them both, one was a strikeout, AJ Ramos pitched to one batter and struck him out and Hansel Robles pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and lost his first game of the season. 

Kyle Freeland pitched seven innings giving up four hits and two runs with a walk and eight strikeouts.  Freeland won his second game of the season.  Bryan Shaw pitched 2/3 of an inning with two strikeouts, Jake McGee pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up a walk and Adam Ottavino pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts. 

Juan Lagares had a hit, Yoenis Cespedes had a hit and Brandon Nimmo drew a walk.  Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and an RBI, Todd Frazier had an RBI and Wilmer Flores drew two walks.  Jose Lobaton had a hit, Adrian Gonzalez had a hit and the Mets were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Syndergaard committed an error and Lagares had an outfield assist. 

Charlie Blackmon had a hit, David Dahl had two hits and Nolan Arenado drew two walks.  Gerardo Parra had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Ian Desmond had two hits and two RBI, Daniel Castro had a hit and Tony Wolters drew two walks.  Dahl and Parra each hit a double and Desmond hit two homeruns.  The Rockies were 0-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Dahl and Wolters each had a stolen base. 

In the first Cabrera hit an RBI signle, Frazier hit a sac fly to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.  In the second Desmond hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the third Parra drew an RBI walk to tie the game at two.  In the eighth Desmond hit a solo homerun to give the Rockies a 3-2 win and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees defeat the Cleveland Indians and complete three-game sweep


The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-4.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and pitched great in his first start.  Dellin Betances had a rough outing and Aaron Hicks had two hits and Gleyber Torres a walk-off homerun to lead the offense. 

German pitched six innings giving up no hits or runs and walked two and struck out nine.  Betances pitched an inning giving up three hits and three runs with two strikeouts, Jonathan Holder pitched an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run and Chasen Shreve won his second game of the season pitching a perfect inning with two strikeouts. 

Mike Clevinger pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up a hit and two runs with four walks and ten strikeouts.  Cody Allen lost his first game of the season and blew his first save of the season.  Allen pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and Dan Otero pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk. 

Brett Gardner had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Judge had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk and Didi Gregorius drew a walk.  Hicks had two hits, Neil Walker had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks and Tyler Austin drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk, Torres had a hit and three RBI.  Judge, Hicks and Walker each hit a double and Torres hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Judge was picked off and Sanchez had a passed ball.  Francisco Lindor had a hit and an RBI, Jason Kipnis had an RBI and Jose Ramirez drew a walk.  Edwin Encarnacion drew a walk, Yonder Alonso had a hit and Yan Gomes had a hit.  Tyler Naquin had a hit and an RBI, Lindor hit a double and the Indians were 2-3 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base.  Davis had a stolen base, Alonso committed an error and Clevinger had a pickoff. 

In the eighth Naquin hit an RBI single, Lindor hit an RBI double, a passed ball scored a run and Kipnis hit a sac fly to make it 4-0 Indians.  In the bottom of the eighth Gardner hit an RBI single and Judge hit a two-run double to cut the lead to 4-3.  In the ninth Walker hit an RBI double to tie the game at four and Torres hit a walk-off three-run homerun to give the Yankees a 7-4 win. 

The Yankees swept the three-game series and will have a day off on Monday.  They will begin a three-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.   

New York Mets get shutout by the Colorado Rockies


The New York Mets were defeated by the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 2-0.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Asdrubal Cabrera and Jay Bruce each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Matz lost his third game of the season pitching six innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts.  Paul Sewald pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Robert Gsellman pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and three strikeouts. 

Chad Bettis pitched seven innings giving up six hits and no runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Bettis won his fourth game of the season.  Adam Ottavino pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout and Wade Davis saved his 13th game of the season pitching a perfect inning. 

Brandon Nimmo drew a walk, Cabrera had two hits and Bruce had two hits.  Todd Frazier drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and Amed Rosario had a hit.  Bruce hit a double and the Mets were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Cespedes had a stolen base and Nido had a passed ball.  Nimmo and Cespedes each had a outfield assist. 

Charlie Blackmon had a hit and drew a walk, Nolan Arenado had a hit and an RBI and Trevor Story drew a walk.  Chris Iannetta had a hit, Noel Cuevas had a hit and Carlos Gonzalez drew a walk.  Pat Valaika had a hit, David Dahl had a hit and an RBI and Arenado hit a homerun.  The Rockies were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Story and Blackmon each had a stolen base. 

In the first Arenado hit a solo homerun to give the Rockies a 1-0 lead.  In the ninth Dahl hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0 and that was the final score.

New York Yankees win fifth straight with victory over the Cleveland Indians


The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-2.  Sonny Gray started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the bullpen was great.  Brett Gardner led the offense with two RBI. 

Gray pitched six innings giving up four hits and two runs.  He walked two and struck out seven and won his second game of the season.  Chad Green pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts and David Robertson picked up his first save of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Trevor Bauer lost his third game of the season pitching six innings and giving up two hits and four runs with two of them being earned.  He walked three and struck out eight.  Ben Taylor pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with three strikeouts. 

Gardner had a hit and two RBI, Aaron Hicks had a hit and Neil Walker drew a walk.  Miguel Andujar drew a walk, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Austin Romine had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Ronald Torreyes had an RBI, Romine hit a double and the Yankees were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

Francisco Lindor had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Jose Ramirez had a hit and Michael Brantley drew a walk.  Edwin Encarnacion had a hit and an RBI, Tyler Naquin had a hit and Bradley Zimmer had a hit.  Zimmer, Ramirez and Encarnacion each hit a double.  Lindor hit a homerun and the Indians were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Lindor committed an error. 

In the fifth Lindor hit a solo homerun to give the Indians a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fifth Romine drew an RBI walk to tie the game at one.  Torreyes reached on a fielder’s choice error and two runs scored to make it 3-1.  Gardner hit a sac fly to make it a 4-1 game.   In the sixth Encarnacion hit an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 4-2.  In the seventh Gardner hit an RBI single to make it a 5-2 game and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees have now won five in a row and 14 out of their last 15 games.  They will go for the sweep of the series on Sunday afternoon. 

New York Mets rally falls short as they fall to the Colorado Rockies


The New York Mets were defeated by the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 8-7.  Zach Wheeler started for the Mets and he did not pitch well.  Asdrubal Cabrera and Todd Frazier led the offense with two hits and three RBI each. 

Wheeler pitched six innings giving up ten hits and eight runs.  He walked three and struck out three and lost his second game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched three innings giving up a hit and a walk and he struck out three. 

German Marquez pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs with no walks and eight strikeouts.  Marquez won his second game of the season.  Bryan Shaw pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, Chris Rusin pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and Jake McGee didn’t record an out and gave up two hits and two runs.  Wade Davis picked up his 12th save of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts.

The two teams will play the second game of three on Saturday night.

The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-6.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and he pitched well, the bullpen did not pitch well.  Aaron Judge, Neil Walker, Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres each had two hits. 

Sabathia pitched six innings giving up three hits and no runs.  He walked none and struck out seven.  Dellin Betances pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two, Chasen Shreve pitched giving up three hits and four runs and a walk without recording an out and David Robertson pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run.  Aroldis Chapman won his first game of the season after blowing his first save of the season.  He pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with three strikeouts. 

Josh Tomlin pitched seven innings giving up eight hits and five runs with four of them being earned.  He walked two and struck out four.  Alexi Ogando lost his first game of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and two runs with three walks and a strikeout and Cody Allen pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he walked one.

In the fourth Torres hit a three-run homerun to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  Judge hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 4-0.  In the fifth Sanchez hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 5-0.  In the eighth Zimmer hit a three-run homerun cutting the lead to 5-3.  Ramirez hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at five.  In the eighth Judge had an RBI walk to make it 6-5.  In the ninth the Indians scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at six.  IN the bottom of the ninth Andujar hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a walk-off 7-6 victory. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.  

New York Mets are shutout by the Atlanta Braves


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Thursday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 11-0.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Matt Harvey was terrible out of the bullpen.  The Mets offense managed three hits. 

Vargas pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up 11 hits and six runs.  He walked two and struck out three and took his second loss of the season.  Harvey pitched two innings giving up three hits and five runs with three walks and a strikeout, Jerry Blevins pitched 1 1/3 innings with a strikeout and Jeurys Familia pithed an inning giving up a hit. 

Julio Teheran pitched seven innings giving up two hits and no runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  He won his second game of the season.  Jesse Biddle pitched an inning striking out one and Max Fried pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts. 

Brandon Nimmo drew a walk, Yoenis Cespedes drew a walk and Juan Lagares had a hit.  Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit, Michael Conforto drew a walk and Adrian Gonzalez had a hit.  Cabrera hit a double and the Mets were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Vargas had a pickoff. 

Ozzie Albies had two hits and three RBI, Ronald Acuna Jr. had three hits and an RBI and Freddie Freeman drew a walk.  Nick Markakis had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk, Kurt Suzuki had two hits and two RBI and Johan Camargo drew a walk.  Charlie Culberson had two hits and an RBI, Teheran had two hits and an RBI and Preston Tucker had a hit.  Ender Inciarte drew two walks, Markakis and Tucker each hit a double and Suzuki, Acuna Jr., Markakis and Albies each hit a homerun.  The Braves were 3-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Acuna Jr. was caught stealing. 

In the first Markakis hit an RBI double, Suzuki hit a two-run homerun and it was 3-0 Braves.  In the fifth Acuna hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 4-0.  Markakis hit a two-run homerun and it was 6-0.  In the seventh Culberson hit an RBI single, Teheran hit a sac fly and Albies hit a three-run homerun to push the lead to 11-0 and that would be the final score.   

New York Yankees defeat the Houston Astros and win the series


The New York Yankees defeated the Houston Astros on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas and the final score was 6-5.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched well, Chad Green out of the bullpen struggled a little bit.  Didi Gregorius and Miguel Andujar led the offense with two hits each. 

Tanaka pitched six innings giving up five hits and three runs with no walks and five strikeouts.  Green pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with one of them being earned.  He struck out one batter, Chasen Shreve pitched 2/3 of an inning and retired both batters and picked up the win.  Aroldis Chapman saved his seventh game of the season pitching an inning and striking out the side, he did give up a hit. 

Lance McCullers Jr. pitched seven innings giving up five hits and three runs.  He walked three and struck out five.  Chris Devenski pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts, Will Harris took his second loss of the season giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and didn’t record an out and Brad Peacock pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Aaron Judge had an RBI, Gregorius had two hits and Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk.  Gary Sanchez drew two walks, Neil Walker had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Andujar had two hits.  Ronald Torreyes had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Hicks had a hit and Gleyber Torres had a hit and three RBI.  Gregorius hit a double and the Yankees were 5-11 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Sanchez had a passed ball. 

George Springer had a hit and an RBI, Carlos Correa had a hit and an RBI and Yuri Gurriel had a hit.  Josh Reddick had a hit, Alex Bregman had a hit and Marwin Gonzalez had a hit and an RBI.  Brian McCann had two hits and an RBI, Jake Marisnick had a hit and Correa hit a homerun.  The Astros were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

IN the second Torreyes hit an RBI single, Torres hit a sac fly and it was 2-0 Yankees.  In the third Walker hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 3-0.  In the seventh Gonzalez hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-1.  McCann hit an RBI single to make it a 3-2 game and a passed ball tied the game at three.  Springer hit an RBI ground out to give Houston a 4-3 lead.  In the eighth Correa hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 5-3.  In the ninth Torres hit a two-run single to tie the game at five.  Judge hit an RBI ground out and the Yankees took a 6-5 lead and that would be the final score.  The Yankees won three out of four in the series and will now head home to start a three-game series with the Cleveland Indians on Friday night.
