New York Yankees bust out of their slump with victory over the Chicago White Sox

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois and the final score was 7-1.  Clarke Schmidt started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the bullpen was great, mainly Michael King.  The offense broke out of their slump with Harrison Bader leading the way with three hits. 

Schmidt pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Schmidt won his eighth game of the season.  King pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out five and Jonathan Loaisiga made his first appearance since April and he pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Touki Toussaint started for the White Sox and he pitched five innings giving up six hits and four runs with five walks and nine strikeouts.  Toussaint lost his fifth game of the season.  Declan Cronin pitched two innings giving up two hits and a walk with five strikeouts and Tanner Banks pitched two innings giving up five hits and three runs with three strikeouts. 

Jake Bauers had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew three walks and Gleyber Torres had a hit.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, Billy McKinney had two hits and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had two hits and two RBI.  Bader had three hits and an RBI, Anthony Volpe had a hit and drew a walk and Ben Rortvedt drew a walk.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit and two RBI.  Kiner Falefa hit a double and Higashioka and Judge each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.  Bader had a stolen base and Bauers and Volpe were each caught stealing.   

Andrew Benintendi had a hit, Luis Robert Jr. had a hit and an RBI and Eloy Jimenez had two hits.  Yoan Moncada had a hit and drew a walk, Zach Remillard had a hit and Benintendi hit a double.  Robert Jr. hit a homerun and the White Sox were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Toussaint had a pickoff. 

In the top of the fourth Kiner-Falefa hit a two-run double giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  Bader hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 3-0 and Bauers hit a sac fly making it 4-0.  In the bottom of the fourth Robert Jr. hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 4-1.  In the eighth Higashioka hit a two-run pinch hit homerun making it 6-1 and Judge hit a solo homerun extending the lead to 7-1 which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play the rubber game of the series on Wednesday night. 

New York Yankees leave a village on the bases as they fall to the Chicago White Sox

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.  The game took place at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois and the final score was 5-1.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and he pitched well although his final line didn’t indicate it.  Aaron Judge led the offense with two hits. 

Cole pitched seven innings giving up five hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts.  Cole took his third loss of the season.  Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run with two strikeouts. 

Dylan Cease started for the White Sox and he pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up a hit and no runs.  He walked seven and struck out six.  Cease picked up his fifth win of the season.  Brent Honeywell pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits, Lane Ramsey pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and Bryan Shaw pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out four.  Shaw picked up his first save of the season. 

Judge had two hits and drew a walk, Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk and Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk.  Billy McKinney had an RBI and drew two walks, DJ LeMahieu had a hit and drew a walk and Harrison Bader had a hit and drew a walk.  Anthony Volpe had a hit and drew a walk, Judge hit a double and the Yankees were 1-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.  Kahnle committed an error. 

Andrew Benintendi had an RBI, Luis Robert Jr. had a hit and two RBI and Eloy Jimenez had a hit.  Yoan Moncada drew a walk, Andrew Vaughn had two hits and two RBI and Yasmani Grandal drew a walk.  Gavin Sheets had a hit, Elvis Andrus had a hit and Robert Jr. hit a double.  Vaughn hit a homerun and the White Sox were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

In the bottom of the second Vaughn hit a two-run homerun to give the White Sox a 2-0 lead.  IN the seventh McKinney hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the eighth Benintendi hit a sac fly to push the lead to 3-1.  Robert Jr. hit a two-run double and it was 5-1 White Sox which would be the final score.  The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees are downed by the Tampa Bay Rays

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday by the score of 5-1.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.  Jhonny Brito started for the Yankees and he wasn’t good.  Domingo German came in out of the bullpen and was very good.  The Yankees offense only managed three hits. 

Brito pitched four innings giving up six hits and five runs with four strikeouts.  Brito took his fifth loss of the season.  German pitched five innings giving up two hits and no runs with two walks and four strikeouts. 

Tyler Glasnow started for the Rays and he pitched seven innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and eight strikeouts.  Glasnow won his fifth game of the season.  Robert Stephenson pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and Pete Fairbanks pitched an inning with a walk and he struck out two. 

Aaron Judge drew three walks, Anthony Rizzo had a hit and Jake Bauers had a hit and an RBI.  Anthony Volpe had a hit, Bauers hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

Yandy Diaz had two hits, Wander Franco had a hit and an RBI and Brandon Lowe had a hit and two RBI.  Luke Raley had a hit and drew a walk, Isaac Paredes had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Josh Lowe had a hit and an RBI.  Paredes and Raley each hit a double and Lowe, Franco, Paredes and J. Lowe each hit a homerun.  The Rays were 0-5 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Raley had a stolen base and Siri was caught stealing. 

In the first B. Lowe hit a two-run homerun giving the Rays a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second Bauers hti a solo homerun cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the third Franco hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 3-1.  In the fourth Paredes hit a solo homerun making it 4-1 and J. Lowe hit a solo homerun extending the lead to 5-1 which was the final score.  The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees are swept in Anaheim by the Angels

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Anaheim Angels on Wednesday night.  The game took place at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California and the final score was 7-3.  Carlos Rodon started for the Yankees and he wasn’t good.  The bullpen did a good job and Franchy Cordero led the offense with three hits. 

Rodon pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up four hits and six runs with five walks and three strikeouts.  He took his third loss of the season.  Ian Hamilton pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and three walks with three strikeouts, Wandy Peralta pitched to one batter and got him out and Ron Marinaccio pitched an inning with a walk.  Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two walks. 

Chase Silseth started for the Angels and he pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with two walks and ten strikeouts.  Silseth won his second game of the season.  Jose Soriano pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout, Jacob Webb pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Matt Moore pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with three strikeouts.  Aaron Loup pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Oswaldo Peraza drew a walk, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  DJ LeMahieu had a hit, Cordero had three hits and an RBI and Kyle Higashioka had two hits and an RBI.  Oswaldo Cabrera drew a walk, Cordero hit a double and Stanton and Cordero each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Volpe committed an error and Higashioka had a passed ball. 

Zach Neto had two hits, Shohei Ohtani drew four walks, Taylor Ward had two hits, three RBI and drew a walk and Mickey Moniak had a hit and an RBI.  Eduardo Escobar had an RBI and drew a walk, Hunter Renfroe drew two walks and Luis Rengifo had a hit, two RBI and drew two walks.  Chad Wallach drew a walk.  Ward hit a double and a homerun and Rengifo hit a homerun.  The Angels were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base. 

IN the bottom of the first Ward hit a two-run homerun giving the Angels a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second Rengifo hit a two-run homerun pushing the lead to 4-0.  In the bottom of the third Moniak hit an RBI single extending the lead to 5-0.  Escobar hit into a forceout and a run scored making it 6-0.  In the top of the sixth Stanton hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 6-1.  Higashioka hit an RBI single making it 6-2.  In the top of the eighth Cordero hit a solo homerun making it 6-3.  In the bottom of the eighth Ward hit an RBI double and it was 7-3 which was the final score. 

The Yankees got swept in the three-game series and will be off on Thursday before beginning a three-game series at home with the Kansas City Royals on Friday. 

New York Yankees offense struggles in loss to the Anaheim Angels

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Anaheim Angels on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California and the final score was 5-1.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he pitched ok.  The Yankees offense managed only two hits. 

German pitched six innings giving up four hits and five runs with three walks and nine strikeouts.  German lost his sixth game of the season.  Albert Abreu pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out four. 

Patrick Sandoval started for the Angels and he pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with three walks and seven strikeouts.  Sandoval won his fifth game of the season.  Jacob Webb pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out one and Carlos Estevez pitched an inning with a strikeout. 

Gleyber Torres had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Harrison Bader drew a walk and Isiah Kiner-Falefa drew a walk.  Anthony Volpe had a hit, Torres hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

Zach Neto had a hit and drew a walk, Shohei Ohtani had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Mickey Moniak had three hits and three RBI.  Michael Stefanic drew a walk and Ohtani hit a triple.  Moniak hit a homerun and the Angels were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Moniak had a stolen base.  Neto committed an error. 

In the bottom of the first Moniak hit a two-run homerun giving the Angels a 2-0 lead.  In the third Torres hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the third a wild pitch made it 3-1.  In the bottom of the fifth Ohtani hit an RBI triple pushing the lead to 4-1.  Moniak hit an RBI single and it was 5-1 Angels which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Wednesday night.   

New York Yankees blow late lead to Angels and fall in extra innings

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Anaheim Angels on Monday night.  The game took place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California and the final score was 4-3.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  The bullpen didn’t do a great job and Gleyber Torres led the offense with a couple of hits. 

Severino pitched six innings giving up six hits and a run with three walks and three strikeouts.  Michael King pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with three walks and two strikeouts, Ron Marinaccio pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out one and Nick Ramirez took his second loss of the season pitching 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and an unearned run with a walk and three strikeouts.  

Griffin Canning started for the Angels and he pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up six hits and two runs with three walks and 12 strikeouts.  Jimmy Herget pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Gerardo Reyes pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a run and two walks with two strikeouts and Matt Moore pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout.  Aaron Loup pitched an inning with two strikeouts and picked up his first win of the season.

In the sixth Cabrera hit a two-run double giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the sixth Thaiss hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the top of the seventh Torres hit a sac fly pushing the Yankees lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the seventh Ohtani hit a two-run homerun tying the game at three.  In the bottom of the tenth Stefanic hit a walk-off single giving the Angels a 4-3 victory. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees start out fast and then stop hitting in loss to the Colorado Rockies

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Colorado Rockies on Friday night.  The game took place at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado and the final score was 7-2.  Carlos Rodon started for the Yankees and he pitched ok.  Gleyber Torres led the offense with three hits and a couple other players had two hits each. 

Rodon pitched five innings giving up four hits and four runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  Rodon took his second loss of the season.  Michael King pitched two innings giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and four strikeouts and Albert Abreu pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run. 

Austin Gomber started for the Rockies and he pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs.  He walked none and struck out two.  Gomber won his eighth game of the season.  Pierce Johnson pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Daniel Bard pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and Justin Lawrence pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts. 

Torres had three hits, Giancarlo Stanton had two hits and two RBI and Anthony Rizzo had a hit.  Josh Donaldson drew a walk, DJ LeMahieu had two hits and Stanton hit a double and a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

Kris Bryant had a hit and two RBI, Elias Diaz drew a walk and CJ Cron had a hit and drew a walk.  Randal Grichuk had two hits and an RBI, Nolan Jones had a hit and an RBI and Ezequiel Tovar had a hit and an RBI.  Brenton Doyle had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, he hit a double and Grichuk, Bryant and Jones each hit a homerun.  The Rockies were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Doyle had a stolen base. 

In the top of the first Stanton hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second Tovar hit an RBI single, Doyle hit a two-run double and the Rockies had a 3-2 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Grichuk hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 4-2.  In the bottom of the seventh Bryant hit a two-run homerun and the lead increased to 6-2.  In the bottom of the eighth Jones hit a solo homerun and the score was 7-2 which was the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday night.

New York Yankees rally to win rubber game over the Texas Rangers

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-3.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and he battled through 4 2/3 innings.  The bullpen was great and Harrison Bader led the offense with two hits and two RBI. 

Cole pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up nine hits and three runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Jimmy Cordero pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk, Nick Ramirez pitched 1 1/3 innings striking out one and Ron Marinaccio picked up his fourth win of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit.  Michael King pitched an inning giving up a hit and struck out two and earned his fifth save of the season. 

Nathan Eovaldi started for the Rangers and he pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Josh Sborz pitched 1 1/3 innings with three strikeouts, John King pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and took his first loss of the season and Yerry Rodriguez pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk. 

Gleyber Torres had a hit, Bader had two hits and two RBI and Anthony Rizzo drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Jake Bauers had a hit and drew a walk and DJ LeMahieu had a hit and two RBI.  Anthony Volpe had a hit, Jose Trevino had a hit and Torres, Bauers, Volpe and LeMahieu each hit a double.  Bader hit two doubles.  The Yankees were 4-12 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Trevino had a pickoff. 

Marcus Semien had two hits, Corey Seager had a hit and an RBI and Nathaniel Lowe had two hits.  Josh Jung had a hit and drew a walk, Jonah Heim had two hits and an RBI and Ezequiel Duran had two hits.  Leody Taveras had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Semien, Taveras and Lowe each hit a double and Duran hit two doubles.  Heim hit a homerun and the Rangers were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.  Taveras had a stolen base and was picked off. 

In the top of the first Seager had an RBI single to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.  In the second Heim hit a solo homerun pushing the Rangers lead to 2-0.  Taveras hit an RBI double and it was 3-0 Rangers.  In the bottom of the second LeMahieu hit a two-run double cutting the lead to 3-2.  In the eighth Bader hit a two-run double giving the Yankees a 4-3 lead and Stanton hit an RBI single making it 5-3 and that would be the final score.  The Yankees took two out of three in the series and four out of six on the homestand.  They will be off on Monday and then head to Oakland to begin a three-game series on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees shutout the Texas Rangers

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 1-0.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched great as well as the bullpen.  Billy McKinney hit a homerun as the only run of the game. 

Severino pitched six innings giving up five hits and no runs with two walks and four strikeouts.  Severino earned his first win of the season.  Tommy Khanle pitched a perfect inning, Wandy Peralta pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one and Clay Holmes pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout.  Ron Marinaccio pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts and he earned his second save of the season. 

Jon Gray started for the Rangers and he pitched five innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and four strikeouts.  Gray lost his third game of the season.  Grant Anderson pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out four and J. Barlow pitched a perfect inning. 

Gleyber Torres drew a walk, Harrison Bader had a hit and Anthony Rizzo had a hit.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, McKinney had a hit and an RBI and Anthony Volpe drew a walk.  McKinney hit a homerun and the Yankees were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Bauers had an outfield assist. 

Marcus Semien had three hits, Corey Seager had a hit and Nathaniel Lowe drew a walk.  Adolis Garcia had a hit and drew a walk, Josh Jung had a hit and Jonah Heim had two hits.  Mitch Garver drew a walk, Heim hit a double and the Rangers were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base. 

In the bottom of the fourth McKinney hit a solo homerun giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead and that would be the only run scored in the game.  The two teams will play the rubber game of the series on Sunday afternoon.

 The New York Yankees were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 4-2 in ten innings.  Clarke Schmidt started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Anthony Rizzo and Isiah Kiner-Falefa each had two hits to lead the offense.

Jake Bauers drew a walk, Rizzo had two hits and DJ LeMahieu had a hit.  Kiner-Falefa had two hits, Billy McKinney had a hit and an RBI and Kyle Higashioka had an RBI.  Anthony Volpe drew a walk, LeMahieu hit a double and the Yankees were 0-8 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Kiner-Falefa was caught stealing and committed an error and Peralta had a pickoff. 

Corey Seager had a hit and drew a walk, Nathaniel Lowe had a hit and drew a walk and Adolis Garcia had a hit and had two RBI.  Josh Jung had a hit, Robbie Grossman had a hit and Mitch Garver had two hits and an RBI.  Ezequiel Duran had two hits, Leody Taveras had a hit and Grossman, Jung and Seager each hit a double.  Garcia hit a homerun and the Rangers were 3-11 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.  Seager was caught stealing and picked off. 

In the bottom of the second McKinney hit an RBI groundout to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Taveras hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  In the eighth Garver hit an RBI single giving the Rangers a 2-1 lead.  In the bottom of the eighth Higashioka hit a sac fly to tie the game at two.  In the top of the tenth Garcia hit a two-run homerun giving the Rangers a 4-2 lead and that would be

New York Yankees get clobbered by the Boston Red Sox

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.  The game took place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts and the final score was 15-5.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he wasn’t good.  Josh Donaldson had two hits to lead the offense with every other starter having a hit. 

German took his fourth loss of the season pitching two innings and giving up seven hits and seven runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Matt Krook pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up four hits and five runs with a walk, Albert Abreu pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs which were both unearned and Nick Ramirez pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two.  Isiah Kiner-Falefa pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run. 

Tanner Houck started for the Red Sox and pitched four innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts.  Joe Jacques pitched two innings giving up three hits and three runs with one of them being earned and he struck out two and earned his first win of the season.  Corey Kluber pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with a strikeout and Brennan Bernardino pitched an inning giving up a walk.

In the top of the first Rizzo hit an RBI groundout giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Yoshida hit a two-run double giving the Red Sox a 2-1 lead.  In the bottom of the second Turner hit a two-run homerun to extend the Red Sox lead to 4-1.  In the bottom of the third Yoshida hit an RBI single, Reyes hit an RBI single and Turner hit a grand-slam giving the Red Sox a 10-1 advantage.  In the bottom of the fourth Wong hit a two-run single pushing the lead to 12-1.  Reyes hit an RBI single making it 13-1.  In the top of the sixth Rizzo hit a two-run double cutting the lead to 13-3 and McKinney hit an RBI single making it 13-4.  In the bottom of the sixth Casas hit an RBI single making it 14-4 and in the eighth Donaldson hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 14-5.  In the bottom of the eighth Casas hit an RBI double making it 15-5 and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees even series with the Boston Red Sox behing strong pitching

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 3-1.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he pitched well, the bullpen was good as well.  Gleyber Torres led the offense with two hits. 

German pitched six innings giving up six hits and a run with two walks and five strikeouts.  German won his fourth game of the season.  Wandy Peralta pitched an inning with two walks, Tommy Khanle pitched a perfect inning and Clay Holmes pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and earned his eighth save of the season. 

Tanner Houck started for the Red Sox and he pitched six innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Houck lost his sixth game of the season.  Brennan Bernardino pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Josh Winckowski pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits. 

Torres had two hits and an RBI, Willie Calhoun had a hit and an RBI and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit.  Billy McKinney had a hit, Kyle Higashioka had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  McKinney hit a double and Torres and Calhoun each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Higashioka committed an error.

New York Yankes come up just short in loss to the Boston Red Sox

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and he pitched well as did the bullpen.  DJ LeMahieu and Isiah Kiner-Falefa led the offense with two hits each but the offense didn’t do much. 

Cole pitched six innings giving up seven hits and two runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Cole took his first loss of the season.  Albert Abreu pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout, Nick Ramirez pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Jimmy Cordero pitched 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts. 

Garrett Whitlock started for the Red Sox and he pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and two runs with only one being earned.  He walked one and struck out six and won his third game of the season.  Nick Pivetta pitched to two batters and retired them both, Chris Martin pitched a perfect inning and Kenley Jansen pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one and earned his 14th save of the season. 

LeMahieu had two hits, Josh Donaldson had a hit and an RBI and Giancarlo Stanton had a hit.  Kiner-Falefa had two hits, Billy McKinney had a hit and Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk.  Anthony Volpe had a hit, Donaldson hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Kiner-Falefa had a stolen base and was caught stealing.

New York Yankees lose a nail biter in game one of doubleheader to the Chicago White Sox

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Chicago White Sox on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-5.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and wasn’t good.  Willie Calhoun, Jake Bauers and Kyle Higashioka each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Severino pitched five innings giving up six hits and four run with two walks and six strikeouts.  Jimmy Cordero pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one, Wandy Peralta pitched to one batter and got him out and Michael King lost his second game of the season pitching two innings and giving up two hit and two runs with two strikeouts.  Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up a strikeout. 

Lance Lynn started for the White Sox and he pitched five innings giving up eight hits and five runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Gregory Santos pitched an inning and got his second win of the season, Joe Kelly pitched a perfect inning and Reynaldo Lopez pitched an inning and he struck out two.  Kendall Graveman pitched an inning giving up a hit and he walked one. 

Calhoun had two hits and three RBI, Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit and Gleyber Torres drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk, Bauers had two hits and DJ LeMahieu drew a walk.  Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and an RBI, Billy McKinney had a hit and Higashioka had two hits and an RBI.  Josh Donaldson drew a walk, Higashioka hit a double and Bauers hit two doubles.  McKinney hit a triple and Calhoun hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 3-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Cabrera committed an error. 

Tim Anderson had a hit, Luis Robert Jr. had three hits and an RBI and Eloy Jimenez had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk.  Yoan Moncada had a hit and an RBI, Andrew Vaughn drew a walk and Jake Burger had two hits and two RBI.  Romy Gonzalez drew a walk, Burger and Robert Jr. each hit a double and Burger, Robert Jr. Moncada and Jimenez each hit a homerun.  The White Sox were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Robert Jr. had a stolen base and Gonzalez had two stolen bases. 

In the second Burger hit a two-run homerun giving the White Sox a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second HIgashioka hit an RBI double and Calhoun hit an RBI single tying the game at two.  In the third Robert Jr. hit a solo homerun and Moncada hit a solo homerun giving the White Sox a 4-2 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Calhoun hit a two-run homerun tying the game at four.  In the bottom of the fifth Cabrera hit an RBI single giving the Yankees a 5-4 lead.  In the seventh Jimenez hit a two-run homerun giving the White Sox a 6-5 lead and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees double up the Los Angeles Dodgers behind some Bauers Power

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night.  The game took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California and the final score was 6-3.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the bullpen was good.  Jake Bauers led the offense with two hits and four RBI. 

Cole pitched six innings giving up four hits and a run with two walks and five strikeouts.  Cole won his seventh game of the season.  Wandy Peralta pitched giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and didn’t record an out, Michael King pitched two innings giving up one hit and he struck out three and Clay Holmes picked up his sixth save of the season pitching an inning with a walk. 

Michael Grove started for the Dodgers and pitched five innings giving up four hits and four runs with no walks and seven strikeouts.  Grove lost his second game of the season.  Shelby Miller pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts, Alex Vesia pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Taylor Scott pitched 1 2/3 innings with a walk and two strikeouts.  Victor Gonzalez pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run. 

Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Anthony Rizzo had a hit and DJ LeMahieu had a hit.  Bauers had two hits and four RBI, Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and an RBI and LeMahieu hit a triple.  Bauers hit two homeruns and Judge and Cabrera each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-1 with runners in scoring position and left one man on base.  Trevino had a passed ball. 

Mookie Betts drew a walk, Freddie Freeman had a hit and Will Smith had a hit.  Max Muncy drew two walks, Chris Taylor had a hit and David Peralta had a hit and an RBI.  Miguel Vargas had a hit and an RBI, Trayce Thompson drew a walk and Miguel Rojas had two hits and an RBI.  Vargas hit a triple and the Dodgers were 1-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Rojas was caught stealing. 

In the second Bauers hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second Peralta hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the fourth Bauers hit a two-run homerun pushing the lead to 4-1.  In the top of the sixth Judge hit a solo homerun and it was 5-1 Yankees.  In the bottom of the seventh Vargas hit an RBI triple to cut the lead to 5-2.  Rojas hit an RBI single making it 5-3.  In the top of the ninth Cabrera hit a solo homerun making it 6-3 and that was the final score.  The two teams will play the rubber game of the three-game series on Sunday night.

New York Yankees doubled up by the Los Angeles Dodgers

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.  The game took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California and the final score was 8-4.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched terribly.  The Yankees bullpen kept them in the game and Josh Donaldson led the offense with two homeruns. 

Severino pitched four innings giving up nine hits and seven runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Severino took his first loss of the season.  Tommy Kahnle making his season debut coming off an injury pitched an ining giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, Ryan Weber pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and Albert Abreu pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Clayton Kershaw started for the Dodgers and he pitched seven innings giving up four hits and two runs with a walk and nine strikeouts.  Kershaw won his seventh game of the season.  Yency Almonte pitched an inning with a walk and Phil Bickford pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts. 

Gleyber Torres had a hit, Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Donaldson had two hits and three RBI.  Jose Trevino had a hit, Jake Bauers drew a walk and Greg Allen drew a walk.  Donaldson hit two homeruns and Stanton hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 0-1 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Trevino committed an error and Trevino had a pickoff. 

Mookie Betts had four hits and three RBI with a walk, Will Smith had two hits and Max Muncy had a hit and two RBI.  J.D. Martinez had two hits and an RBI, Jayson Heyward had two hits and Miguel Vargas had a hit and drew a walk.  James Outman had a hit and an RBI, Miguel Rojas had an RBI and Heyward hit a double.  Betts hit two homeruns and Muncy and Martinez each hit a homerun.  The Dodgers were 3-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Betts had a stolen base and Outman was picked off. 

In the bottom of the first Betts hit a solo homerun, Muncy hit a two-run homerun and the Dodgers had a 3-0 lead.  Outman hit an RBI single, Rojas hit a sac fly and Betts hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 6-0.  In the top of the second Donaldson hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 6-1.  In the bottom of the third Martinez hit a solo homerun and the lead was 7-1.  In the top of the fourth Stanton hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 7-2.  Betts hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the eighth making it 8-2.  In the top of the ninth Donaldson hit a two-run homer and it was 8-4 which would be the final score.

New York Yankees slug their way to victory in Seattle

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.  The game took place at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington and the final score was 10-4.  Domingo German returned from his ten game suspension and he pitched ok.  The bullpen was good and the offense had many stars. 

German pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  German won his third game of the season.  Ron Marinaccio pitched to two batters and struck them both out and Albert Abreu pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out three. 

Bryce Miller started for the Mariners and he pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up 11 hits and eight runs with no walks and three strikeouts.  He took his second loss of the season.  Juan Then pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with a strikeout and Chris Flexen pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Gleyber Torres had two hits, Aaron Judge had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk and Willie Calhoun had two hits and two RBI.  DJ LeMahieu had a hit, Harrison Bader had two hits and Greg Allen had a hit.  Jake Bauers had three hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Isiah Kiner-Falefa had two hits and two RBI and Kyle Higashioka had two hits and an RBI.  Calhoun and Bauers each hit two doubles and Judge and Kiner-Falefa each hit a double.  Judge hit two homeruns and Bauers also hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 6-17 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Bader had a stolen base and Allen was picked off.

Crawford had a hit, Ty France had a hit and Julio Rodriguez had two hits and three RBI.  Jarred Kelenic had two hits, Eugenio Suarez drew a walk and Teoscar Hernandez had a hit and an RBI.  Taylor Trammell drew two walks and Jose Caballero drew a walk.  Rodriguez hit a homerun and the Mariners were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Kelenic had a stolen base and Raleigh committed an error.  Miller had a pickoff. 

In the second Bauers hit an RBI double giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second Hernandez hit an RBI groundout to tie the game at one.  In the third Judge hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead.  In the fourth Bauers hit a solo homerun pushing the Yankees lead to 4-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Rodriguez hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-2.  In the fifth Calhoun hit a two-run double extending the lead to 6-2.  IKF hit a two-run double and the lead was 8-2 Yankees.  In the bottom of the fifth Rodriguez hit a two-run single to cut the lead to 8-4.  In the sixth Judge hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 9-4.  In the ninth Higashioka hit an RBI single making it 10-4 and that was the final score.  The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees outslug the San Diego Padres

 The New York Yankees defeated the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at 

Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 10-7.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees

And he pitched ok.  The bullpen did a good job and Kyle Higashioka led the offense with three hits.  

Cole won his sixth game of the season pitching six innings and giving up four hits and six runs with five

Being earned.  He walked three and struck out nine.  Jimmy Cordero pitched an inning giving up a hit and

He struck out two, Ron Marinaccio pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Clay Holmes pitched an 

Inning giving up a run and two walks.  

Yu Darvish started for the Padres and he pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and seven runs.  He

Struck out two with no walks and too his fourth loss of the season.  Drew Carlton pitched 2 1/3 innings

Giving up two hits and a run with three strikeouts, Domingo Tapia pitched a perfect inning and 

Brent Honeywell pitched two innings giving up three hits and two runs with three strikeouts.

Yankees making his major league debut and he pitched well.  The bullpen wasn’t great and Anthony Rizzo

And drew a walk and Brandon Dixon had two hits.  Austin Nola drew a walk, Soto hit a double and a

To 4-0.  In the bottom of the sixth Rizzo hit an RBI groundout cutting the lead to 4-1.  In the ninth Odor 

Hit an RBI single extending the lad to 5-1 and that was the final score.  

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday.

New York Yankees complete the sweep of the Cincinnati Reds

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday morning.  The game took place at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio and the final score was 4-1.  Luis Severino returning from injury made his season debut for the Yankees and he pitched well.  The bullpen was great and the offense did just enough with homeruns by Gleyber Torres and Harrison Bader. 

Severino pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts.  Albert Abreu picked up his second win of the season pitching 1 1/3 perfect innings with a strikeout, Jimmy Cordero pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Wandy Peralta pitched a perfect inning.  Clay Holmes earned his fifth save of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and a walk with a strikeout. 

Hunter Greene started for the Reds and he pitched seven innings giving up four hits and four runs with three walks and ten strikeouts.  Greene took his fourth loss of the season, Kevin Herget pitched two innings giving up two hits and he struck out one. 

Torres had a hit and an RBI, Anthony Rizzo had a hit and Willie Calhoun had a hit and drew a walk.  Bader had a hit and two RBI, Jake Bauers drew a walk and Greg Allen had a hit.  Anthony Volpe had a hit and an RBI, Isiah Kiner-Falefa drew a walk and Volpe hit a double.  Allen hit a triple and Bader and Torres each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Allen had a stolen base and Kiner-Falefa was caught stealing.  Severio had a pickoff. 

Jonathan India drew a walk, Jake Fraley had a hit and Spencer Steer had two hits and an RBI.  Stuart Fairchild had a hit and drew a walk, Kevin Newman had a hit and Luke Maile had a hit.  Steer hit a double and the Reds were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Maile had a stolen base and Fairchild had a pickoff. 

In the bottom of the first Steer hit an RBI double giving the Reds a 1-0 lead.  In the top of the fifth Bader hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-1 lead.  In the top of the sixth Torres hit a solo homerun pushing the Yankees lead to 3-1.  In the top of the seventh Volpe hit an RBI double making it a 4-1 game and that was the final score.  The Yankees secured the series sweep and will be off on Monday.  They will begin a three-game series at home with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.

New York Yankees rally and win in extra innings over the Cincinnati Reds

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.  The game took place at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio and the final score was 7-4 in ten innings.  Jhony Brito started for the Yankees and he wasn’t very good, he didn’t have his control.  The bullpen pitched great and Aaron Judge led the offense with four hits. 

Brito pitched four innings giving up four hits and four runs with four walks and six strikeouts.  Ron Marinaccio pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out three, Michael King pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out three and Clay Holmes won his second game of the season pitching an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Ryan Weber pitched an inning with a strikeout and earned his first save of the season. 

Luke Weaver started for the Reds and he pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and four runs with four strikeouts.  Alex Young pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits, Buck Farmer pitched 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts and Lucas Sims pitched 1 1/3 innings with a walk and two strikeouts.  Alexis Diaz pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Ian Gibaut pitched an inning giving up three hits and three runs with two being earned.  He lost his first game of the season. 

Gleyber Torres had two hits, Judge had four hits, three RBI and drew a walk and Anthony Rizzo had two hits and three RBI.  DJ LeMahieu had a hit, Harrison Bader had a hit and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit and an RBI.  Ben Rortvedt had two hits including a double and Judge also hit a double.  Kiner-Falefa and Rizzo each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Bader had a stolen base and Brito had a pickoff. 

Jonathan India had a hit and drew a walk, Matt McLain drew two walks and Jake Fraley had a hit, an RBI an drew a walk.  Spencer Steer had a hit and an RBI, Tyler Stephenson drew a walk and Jose Barrero had a hit.  Luke Maile had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk.  India hit a double and Maile hit a homerun, the Reds were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Fraley was caught stealing and was picked off.  Myers had an outfield assist. 

In the bottom of the first Fraley hit an RBI single giving the Reds a 1-0 lead.  In the top of the third Judge hit an RBI single tying the game at one.  In the bottom of the third Steer hit an RBI single giving the Reds a 2-1 lead and in the bottom of the fourth that increased to 4-1 on a Maile two-run homerun.  In the top of the fifth Kiner-Falefa hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 4-2 and Judge hit an RBI double making it 4-3.  Rizzo hit an RBI single and the game was tied at four.  In the top of the tenth Judge hit an RBI single giving the Yankees a 5-4 lead and Rizzo hit a two-run homerun making it 7-4 which would be the final score. 

The Yankees will look for the sweep tomorrow morning.

The New York Yankees defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night.  The game took place at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio and the final score was 6-2 Yankees.  Clarke Schmidt started for the Yankees and he pitched well, the bullpen was great.  Anthony Rizzo led the offense with a couple of hits. 

Schmidt pitched five innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks and six strikeouts.  He won his second game of the season.  Jimmy Cordero pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, Albert Abreu pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one and Wandy Peralta pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.  Nick Ramirez pitched an inning with a walk. 

Ben Lively started for the Reds and he pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and eight strikeouts.  Lively lost his second game of the season.  Ian Gibaut pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three hits and a run with a strikeout, Alex Young pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Silvino Bracho pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and three runs with three walks.  Alan Busenitz pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit. 

Harrison Bader had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Rizzo had two hits and two RBI.  Gleyber Torres drew a walk, Anthony Volpe had a hit and Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and drew a walk.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit and two RBI.  DJ LeMahieu drew a walk, Higashioka hit a double and Judge and Rizzo each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

Jonathan India had a hit and drew a walk, Matt McLain had two hits and Jake Fraley had a hit and two RBI.  Spencer Steer had a hit and drew a walk, Henry Ramos drew two walks and Wil Myers had a hit and drew a walk.  McLain and Fraley each hit a double and the Reds were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Fraley had a stolen base and Ramos was caught stealing.  Gibaut committed an error. 

In the first Judge hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Rizzo hit a two-run homerun to push the Yankees lead to 3-0.  In the bottom of the sixth Fraley hit a two-run double cutting the lead to 3-2.  In the ninth Higashioka hit a two-run double increasing the lead to 5-2 and Bader hit an RBI single making it a 6-2 game which was the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.

New York Yankees led by Aaron Judge hold off the Toronto Blue Jays

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night.  The game took place at Rogers Centre in Ontario, Canada and the final score was 7-4.  Jimmy Cordero started as an opener and pitched great and Jhonny Brito pitched well as the bulk guy.  The offense was led by Aaron Judge who hit two homeruns and had three walks. 

Cordero pitched two perfect innings.  Brito won his third game of the season pitching 5 1/3 innings and giving up six hits and four runs with only one being earned.  He walked none and struck out two, Ian Hamilton pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and Michael King earned his third save of the season pitching 1 1/3 perfect innings. 

Alek Manoah lost his fourth game of the season pitching four innings and giving up six hits and five runs with seven walks and three strikeouts.  Nate Pearson pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a run and two walks with a strikeout, Tim Mayza pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Jay Jackson pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts.  Yimi Garcia pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout. 

Jake Bauers drew a walk, Judge had two hits, three RBI and drew three walks and Anthony Rizzo had a hit and an RBI.  Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk, Willie Calhoun had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk and Anthony Volpe had a hit.  Oswaldo Cabrera drew three walks, Kyle Higashioka had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Hicks had a hit and drew a walk.  Volpe and Rizzo each hit a double and Judge hit two homeruns and Calhoun hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Bauers had a stolen base and Cabrera was picked off.  Torres committed an error. 

George Springer had an RBI, Bo Bichette had two hits and an RBI and Vlad Guerrero Jr. had a hit and an RBI.  Matt Chapman had a hit, Whit Merrifield had a hit and an RBI and Brandon Belt had a hit.  Kevin Kiermaier had two hits.  Kiermaier, Chapman and Guerrero Jr. each hit a double and the Blue Jays were 4-8 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Merrifield committed an error and Manoah had a pickoff. 

In the first Judge hit a solo homerun and Calhoun hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  In the fourth Higashioka hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 4-0.  Judge drew an RBI walk extending the lead to 5-0.  In the sixth Rizzo hit an RBI double and it was 6-0.  Judge hit a solo homerun in the eighth making it 7-0.  In the bottom of the eighth Merrifield hit an RBI single, Springer had an RBI groundout and Bichette hit an RBI single and it was 7-3 Yankees.  Guerrero Jr. hit an RBI double cutting the lead to 7-4 but that was as close as it would get.  The Yankees took the first game of the series and the two teams will play game two of four on Tuesday night.

The New York Yankees rally for a wild win over the Tampa Bay Rays

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 9-8.  It was a wild game that saw the Yankees get down 6-0 and then rally back against one of the best pitchers in baseball. 

Nestor Cortes Jr. started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch well.  The bullpen did a good job and the offense was led by Anthony Rizzo who had three hits. 

Cortes pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and six runs with two walks and three strikeouts.  Jimmy Cordero pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and picked up his third win of the season, Ron Marinaccio pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs and Clay Holmes pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and he struck out three.  Wandy Peralta picked up his second save of the season and he pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout. 

Shane McClanahan started for the Rays and he pitched four innings giving up five hits and four runs with four walks and three strikeouts.  Ryan Thompson pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and five runs with two walks and he took his first loss of the season.  Javy Guerra pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Jalen Beeks pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out three. 

Gleyber Torres drew two walks, Aaron Judge had two hits, four RBI and drew a walk and Rizzo had three hits.  DJ LeMahieu had a hit and drew a walk, Harrison Bader drew a walk and Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and two RBI.  Anthony Volpe had a hit, Jake Bauers had a hit and drew a walk and Kyle Higashioka had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk.  Rizzo hit a double, Higashioka hit a homerun and Judge hit two homeruns.  The Yankees were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Volpe had two stolen bases. 

Yandy Diaz had two hits and four RBI, Wander Franco had a hit and Randy Arozarena had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk.  Isaac Paredes had a hit, Brandon Lowe had a hit and Taylor Walls had a hit and an RBI.  Manuel Margot drew a walk, Luke Raley had a hit and Jose Siri drew a walk.  Francisco Mejia had two hits, Franco hit a double and Diaz hit a homerun.  The Rays were 5-13 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

In the second Walls hit an RBI single to give the Rays a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth Diaz hit a grand-slam pushing the lead to 5-0 and Arozarena hit an RBI single making it 6-0.  In the bottom of the fifth Higashioka hit a two-run homerun cutting the lead to 6-2.  Judge hit a two-run homerun and it was 6-4 Rays.  In the bottom of the sixth a wild pitch made it 6-5 and a Judge homerun gave the Yankees the lead at 7-6.  Cabrera hit a two-run single increasing the lead to 9-6.  In the seventh Arozarena hit a two-run single cutting the lead to 9-8 and that would be the final score of the game. 

The two teams will play the fourth and final game of the series on Sunday afternoon.
