The New York Mets were defeated by
the Miami Marlins on Friday night. The
game took place at Citi Field and the final score was 4-3 Marlins. Matt Harvey started and pitched pretty good
and Ruben Tejada led the offense with a couple of hits.
Harvey pitched eight innings giving
up six hits and four runs with a walk and eleven strikeouts. Harvey lost his third game of the
season. Carlos Torres pitched a perfect
inning with a strikeout.
Dan Haren won his fifth game of the
season pitching seven innings and giving up four hits and two runs with a walk
and four strikeouts. Sam Dyson pitched a
perfect inning with a strikeout and A.J. Ramos pitched an inning giving up two
hits and a run with two strikeouts.
Ramos saved his third game of the season.
Curtis Granderson had a hit and an
RBI, Tejada had two hits and Lucas Duda had a hit adn an RBI. Daniel Murphy had a hit and an RBI, Michael
Cuddyer had a hit and Juan Lagares drew a walk.
Cuddyer hit a double, Duda and Granderson each hit a homerun and the Mets
were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.
Dee Gordon had a hit, Martin Prado
had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Justin Bour had a hit and three RBI. Christian Yelich had a hit, Adeiny
Hechavarria had a hit and Haren had a hit.
Bour hit a homerun and the Marlins were 2-4 with runners in scoring position
and left three men on base. Gordon had a
stolen base.
In the fourth Bour hit a three run
homerun to give the Marlins a 3-0 lead.
In the fourth Duda hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1. In the fifth Prado hit an RBI single making
it a 4-1 game. Granderson hit a solo
homerun in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-2 and in the ninth it became a one
run game on a Murphy RBI double but the final score would be 4-3 Marlins. The two teams will play game two of three on
Saturday afternoon.
