New York Yankees power their way to series win over the Atlanta Braves

The New York Yankees defeated the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-2.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and he pitched well and so did the bullpen.  Didi Gregorius had two hits and Giancarlo Stanton had three RBI to lead the offense. 

Sabathia pitched six innings giving up five hits and two runs with three walks and five strikeouts and he won his sixth game of the season.  Chad Green pitched an inning giving up two hits, Dellin Betances pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out two and Jonathan Holder pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Julio Teheran pitched five innings giving up five hits and five runs with four walks and ten strikeouts.  He lost his sixth game of the season.  Luiz Gohara pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with three strikeouts and Arodys Vizcaino pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Aaron Judge had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Hicks drew two walks.  Stanton had a hit and three RBI, Gregorius had two hits and Greg Bird had a hit and an RBI.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit and an RBI, Neil Walker had a hit and drew a walk and Gregorius hit a double and Stanton hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Hicks had a stolen base. 

Ender Inciarte had two hits and drew a walk, Ozzie Albies had three hits and Danny Santana had an RBI.  Kurt Suzuki drew a walk, Johan Camargo had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Charlie Culberson had two hits.  Dansby Swanson had a hit, Culberson hit two doubles and Camargo hit a homerun.  The Braves were 0-9 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.  Inciarte and Albies each had a stolen base. 

In the second Bird hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the third Stanton hit a three-run homerun to push the lead to 4-0.  In the fourth Higashioka hit a solo homerun and it was 5-0 Yankees.  In the fifth Santana had an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the sixth Camargo hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 5-2.  In the seventh Judge hit a solo homerun making it 6-2 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees took two out of three in the series and will have the day off on Thursday before starting a three game series in Toronto on Friday night. 

New York Yankees even their series with the Atlanta Braves with a victory

The New York Yankees defeated the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-5.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he pitched ok.  Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton led the offense with two hits each. 

German pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs.  He walked three and struck out six.  A.J. Cole won his third game of the season pitching 1 2/3 innings and giving up a hit and he struck out four, Adam Warren pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with a strikeout and Chasen Shreve retired the only two batters he faced and struck out one.  Aroldis Chapman saved his 24^th game of the season pitching a perfect inning with a couple of strikeouts. 

Sean Newcomb pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up three hits and five runs with five walks and two strikeouts and lost his third game of the season.  Luke Jackson pitched three innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts and Evan Phillips pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and two runs with two walks and a strikeout. 

Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk, Judge had two hits and drew a walk and Stanton had two hits and two RBI.  Aaron Hicks had a hit, two RBI and drew two walks, Miguel Andujar had a hit and drew a walk and Brandon Drury had an RBI and drew a walk.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Neil Walker drew a walk and Gardner and Andujar each hit a double.  Hicks, Higashioka and Stanton each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Judge had two stolen bases. 

Ender Inciarte had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Ozzie Albies had two hits and an RBI and Freddie Freeman had a hit.  Nick Markakis had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Kurt Suzuki had a hit and Ronald Acuna Jr. had a hit.  Johan Camargo had a hit and drew a walk, Dansby Swanson had a hit and Inciarte, Albies and Markakis each hit a homerun.  The Braves were 1-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Inciarte had a stolen base. 

In the first Hicks hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the second Higashioka hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-0.  In the third Drury drew an RBI walk and it was 4-0, Higashioka drew an RBI walk to extend the lead to 5-0 and a wild pitch made it 6-0.  In the fifth Inciarte hit a two-run homerun and the lead was cut to 6-2.  Albies hit a solo homerun to make it 6-3.  In the seventh Markakis hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 6-5.  In the eighth Stanton hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 8-5 and that was the final score. 

The two teams will play the rubber game of the three game series on Wednesday afternoon. 

The New York Yankees lose in extra innings to the Atlanta Braves

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Monday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-3 in 11 innings.  Jonathan Loaisiga started for the Yankees and he pitched ok.  Gleyber Torres had three hits and Aaron Hicks had two hits. 

Loaisiga started for the Yankees and pitched four innings giving up five hits and three runs with three strikeouts.  Jonathan Holder pitched two innings giving up two hits and he struck out one, Chad Green pitched two innings with a strikeout and Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect inning and struck out the side.  Dellin Betances pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, David Robertson pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with one of them earned and he struck out one and lost his third game of the season. 

Anibel Sanchez pitched six innings giving up six hits and three runs with two walks and four strikeouts.  Sam Freeman pitched an inning with two walks, Dan Winkler pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts and Jesse Biddle pitched two innings giving up three hits and a walk with four strikeouts and he won his second game of the season.  A.J. Minter pitched an inning giving up a walk and struck out two and saved his fourth game of the season. 

Brett Gardner drew two walks, Aaron Judge had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks and Didi Gregorius had a hit and an RBI.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, Hicks had two hits and Miguel Andujar had a hit and drew a walk.  Greg Bird had a hit and drew a walk, Torres had three hits and drew a walk and Torres hit a double and Hicks hit two doubles.  Judge hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-12 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base.  Torres committed an error. 

Ender Inciarte had a hit, Ozzie Albies drew a walk and Nick Markakis had two hits.  Kurt Suzuki had two hits and an RBI, Ronald Acuna Jr. had two hits and three RBI and Johan Camargo had two hits and an RBI.  Markakis, Suzuki and Acuna Jr. each hit a double and Camargo and Acuna Jr. each hit a homerun.  The Braves were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Acuna Jr. committed an error. 

In the first Judge hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  Camargo hit a solo homerun in the third to tie the game at one.  In the bottom of the third a wild pitch gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Suzuki hit an RBI double to tie the game at two and Acuna Jr. hit an RBI double to give them a 3-2 lead.  In the fifth Gregorius hit a sac fly to tie the game at three.  In the 11^th Acuna Jr. hit a two-run homerun that just tipped off the top of Judge glove to give the Braves a 5-3 lead which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night. 

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 11-1.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched very well.  Aaron Hicks and Aaron Judge each had three hits to lead the offense. 

Severino pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up two hits and no runs.  He walked three and struck out six and won his 13^th game of the season.  David Robertson pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts, Dellin Betances pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out one and Aroldis Chapman pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run. 

David Price lost his sixth game of the season pitching 3 1/3 innings giving up nine hits and eight runs with no walks and three strikeouts.  Justin Haley pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with two walks, Brandon Workman pitched a perfect inning and Hector Velazquez pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs with a walk. 

Hicks had three hits, four RBI and drew a walk, Judge had three hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Giancarlo Stanton had two hits.  Brandon Drury had a hit, Didi Gregorius had a hit and an RBI and Neil Walker had a hit and an RBI.  Gleyber Torres had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk, Miguel Andujar had two hits and Kyle Higashioka had a hit and an RBI.  Brett Gardner had a hit, Gregorius and Stanton each hit a double and Judge, Torres and Higashioka each hit a homerun and Hicks hit three homeruns.  The Yankees were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Mookie Betts drew a walk, Andrew Benintendi had a hit and J.D. Martinez drew a walk.  Mitch Moreland had a hit, Sandy Leon had a hit and Blake Swihart had a hit.  Rafael Devers had an RBI, Jackie Bradley Jr. drew a walk and Leon hit a double.  The Red Sox were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Benintendi had a stolen base. 

In the first Judge hit a solo homerun, Torres hit a three-run homerun and it was 4-0 Yankees.  In the second Hicks hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 6-0.  In te fourth Higashioka had his first major league hit and it was a homerun to extend the lead to 7-0.  Hicks hit a solo homerun for his second of the game to make it 8-0 and Gregorius hit a sac fly making it 9-0.  In the eighth Hicks hit his third home run of the game making it 10-0.  Walker hit an RBI single and it was 11-0 and in the ninth Devers hit an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 11-1 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees took two out of three and will now play a three-game series at home against the Atlanta Braves. 

New York Mets lose second straight in Miami

The New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins on Saturday.  The game took place at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida and the final score was 5-2.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched well.  The Mets offense managed six hits and no one had more then a hit. 

deGrom lost his fourth game of the season and he pitched six innings giving up six hits and three runs with a walk and eight strikeouts.  Robert Gsellman pitched an inning giving up two hits and two unearned runs with a strikeout and Anthony Swarzak pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Pablo Lopez pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Lopez won his first game of the season.  Adam Conley pitched a perfect inning, Drew Steckenrider pitched an inning with two strikeouts and Kyle Barraclough pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and earned his eighth save of the season. 

Jose Bautista had a hit and an RBI, Michael Conforto had a hit and Wilmer Flores had a hit.  Todd Frazier had a hit and an RBI, Devin Mesoraco had a hit and Amed Rosario had a hit and drew a walk.  Flores hit a double and Bautista and Frazier each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Rosario committed an error. 

Derek Dietrich had a hit, Brian Anderson had a hit and two RBI and J.T. Realmuto had a hit and two RBI.  Justin Bour drew a walk, Starlin Castro had three hits and JT Riddle had a hit and an RBI.  Lewis Brinson had a hit, Cameron Maybin had a hit and Realmuto hit a double and Anderson hit a homerun.  The Marlins were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Castro and Riddle each had a stolen base. 

In the first Bautista hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Frazier hit a solo homerun to push the Mets lead to 2-0.  In the bottom of the sixth Anderson hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at two.  Riddle hit an RBI single and it was 3-2 Marlins.  In the seventh Realmuto hit a two-run double to push the lead to 5-2 and that would be the final score. 

The Marlins will go for the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon. 

New York Mets are defeated by the Miami Marlins

The New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins on Friday night.  The game took place at Marlins Parks in Miami, Florida and the final score was 8-2.  Corey Oswalt started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Jose Bautista led the offense with two hits. 

Oswalt pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up six hits and six runs with two walks and a strikeout and he lost his first game of the season.  Chris Beck pitched to one batter and retired him, Tyler Bashlor pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up three hits and a run with two strikeouts and Jerry Blevins pitched 1 1/3 innings with a strikeout.  Drew Smith pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run.

Sandy Alcantara pitched five innings giving up three hits and a run with five walks and two strikeouts and he won his first game of the season.  Drew Rucinski pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one, Ben Meyer pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with two walks and a strikeout and Brad Ziegler pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one.  Kyle Barraclough pitched an inning with a walk and he struck out two. 

Brandon Nimmo had a hit and drew a walk, Bautista had two hits and drew a walk and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit.  Michael Conforto drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and drew a walk and Todd Frazier had a hit and drew a walk.  Devin Mesoraco had a hit and an RBI, Amed Rosario drew three walks and Kevin Plawecki drew a walk.  Bautista and Mesoraco each hit a double and the Mets were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Frazier was picked off. 

Derek Dietrich drew two walks, Brian Anderson had a hit and J.T. Realmuto had a hit and an RBI.  Justin Bour had a hit, Starlin Castro had two hits and an RBI.  JT Riddle had two hits and three RBI, Miguel Rojas had an RBI and Lewis Brinson had three hits and an RBI.  Cameron Maybin had a hit and an RBI, Brinson hit a double and Brinson and Riddle each hit a homerun.  The Marlins were 4-5 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Castro had a stolen base and Riddle committed an error.  Realmuto was picked off.

In the third Brinson hit a solo homerun giving the Marlins a 1-0 lead.  Realmuto hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0, Castro hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 3-0.  Riddle hit a three-run homerun to make it a 6-0 game.  In the fourth Mesoraco hit an RBI double and the lead was caught to 6-1.  In the bottom of the sixth Maybin hit an RBI single to push the lead to 7-1.  In the eighth Flores hit into a double play but a run scored to cut the lead to 7-2.  In the bottom of the eighth Rojas hit a sac fly to make it 8-2 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday. 

New York Yankees are shutout in blowout loss to the Boston Red Sox

 The New York Yankees were defeated by the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 11-0.  Sonny Gray started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch well.  The Yankees offense only produced two hits. 

Gray pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and six runs with two walks.  Gray lost his sixth game of the season.  Adam Warren pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out four, Giovanny Gallegos pitched two innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts and Jonathan Holder pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run.  Chasen Shreve pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts. 

Chris Sale won his eighth game of the season pitching seven innings and giving up a hit and no runs.  He walked one and struck out 11.  Heath Hembree pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout and Hector Velazquez pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Austin Romine drew a walk.  Brett Gardner drew a walk and the Yankees were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Judge had an outfield assist. 

Mookie Betts had two hits and drew two walks, Andrew Benintendi had a hit and an RBI and J.D. Martinez had three hits and three RBI.  Mitch Moreland drew a walk, Xander Bogaerts had two hits and Rafael Devers had five hits and four RBI.  Brock Holt had a hit and an RBI, Sandy Leon had two hits and two RBI and Jackie Bradley Jr. had a hit.  Leon, Devers and Betts each hit a double.  Devers and Leon each hit a homerun.  The Red Sox were 7-15 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Benintendi and Bradley Jr. each had a stolen base. 

In the first Devers hit a grand slam giving the Red Sox a 4-0 lead.  In the second Benintendi hit an RBI single, J.D. Martinez hit a sac fly and it was 6-0 Red Sox.  In the sixth Martinez hit an RBI single to push the lead to 7-0.  In the seventh Leon hit a two-run homerun to extend the lead to 9-0.  In the eighth Martinez hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 10-0 and the scoring was wrapped up with a Holt RBI single in the ninth to make it 11-0 which was the final score.

New York Yankees defeat the Boston Red Sox

The New York Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-1.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Miguel Andujar led the offense with three hits and three RBI. 

Sabathia pitched seven innings giving up six hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts and won his fifth game of the season.  Chad Green pitched an inning with a strikeout and Chasen Shreve pitched an inning with two strikeouts. 

Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six innings giving up seven hits and five runs with two walks and two strikeouts.  Rodriguez lost his third game of the season.  Justin Haley pitched two innings giving up four hits and three runs.

In the second Andujar hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Torres hit a sac fly to push the lead to 2-0.  Andujar hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 4-0.  Bird hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 5-0.  In the fifth Benintendi hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the seventh Judge hit a two-run homerun to make it 7-1.  In the eighth Bird hit a solo homerun making it 8-1 and that was the final score.
