New York Yankees are smacked around by the Cleveland Indians


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 19-5.  Chad Green was the opener and got creamed.  The rest of the bullpen wasn’t much better.  Didi Gregorius led the offense with three hits. 

Green pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up four hits and five runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Green lost his fourth game of the season.  Jonathan Loaisiga pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up four hits and four runs with four strikeouts, Chance Adams pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up 10 hits and five runs with three walks and two strikeouts and Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched to one batter and got him out.  Mike Ford pitched two innings giving up six hits and five runs with a strikeout. 

Adam Plutko pitched six innings giving up six hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Plutko earned his fifth win of the season.  Hunter Wood pitched an inning giving up two hits and an unearned run with two strikeouts and Phil Maton pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had two hits, Gregorius had three hits and an RBI and Gio Urshela had two hits and two RBI.  Gary Sanchez had a hit and an RBI, Brett Gardner drew a walk and Gleyber Torres had a hit and an RBI.  Gregorius, Sanchez and Torres each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 2-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Tauchman had an outfield assist. 

Francisco Lindor had two hits and an RBI, Greg Allen had four hits and four RBI and Carlos Santana had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk.  Yasiel Puig had two hits and two RBI, Oscar Mercado had a hit and Jose Ramirez had two hits, six RBI and drew two walks.  Jason Kipnis had two hits and an RBI, Franmil Reyes had two hits and Tyler Naquin had three hits.  Roberto Perez had three hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Allen, Kipnis, Santana and Naquin each hit a double.  Ramirez hit two homeruns and Kipnis, Perez, and Allen each hit a homerun.  Santana also hit two homeruns for the Indians.  The Indians were 8-13 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Kipnis committed an error. 

The Indians scored seven runs in the first inning to take a 7-0 lead.  The Yankees got one back in the bottom of the first but in the second the Indians quickly took a 9-1 lead.  In the fourth Santana hit a two-run homerun and it was 11-1 Indians.  The Indians added on in the fifth and the Yankees answered back with a run making it a 12-2 game.  In the sixth Sanchez hit a solo homerun.  In the seventh Puig made it a 14-3 game and Urshela hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh cutting it to 14-4.  In the eighth Lindor hit an RBI single and Allen hit a three-run homerun to make it 18-4.  Santanta hit a solo homerun to make it 19-4 and Torres hit a solo homerun in the eighth cutting it to 19-5 which was the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of four on Friday night.   

New York Mets lose to the Atlanta Braves


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday.  The game took place at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia and the final score was 6-4.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched well, Seth Lugo did not pitch well in relief.  Amed Rosario led the offense with four hits. 

Matz pitched six innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and five strikeouts.  Lugo lost his third game of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning and giving up five hits and five runs with a walk, Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Jeurys Familia pitched an inning with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Dallas Keuchel pitched six innings giving up five hits and no runs with two walks and seven strikeouts.  Sean Newcomb pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run, Chris Martin pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run and he won his first game of the season and Shane Greene pitched an inning with a strikeout.  Mark Melancon pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up four hits and two runs with a strikeout and Jerry Blevins saved his first game of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning with a strikeout. 

Rosario had four hits and an RBI, J.D. Davis had two hits and two RBI and Luis Guillorme had a hit and an RBI.  Wilson Ramos had a hit and drew a walk, Michael Conforto drew a walk and Juan Lagares had a hit.  Matz had two hits, Joe Panik had a hit and Panik hit a double.  The Mets were 3-11 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Davis had a stolen base and Conforto had an outfield assist. 

Ronald Acuna Jr. had a hit and an RBI, Ozzie Albies had a hit and an RBI and Josh Donaldson had a hit and drew two walks.  Adam Duvall had a hit and drew a walk, Johan Camargo had a hit and Ender Inciarte had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Tyler Flowers had a hit and an RBI, Matt Joyce had an RBI and Inciarte hit a double and the Braves were 6-12 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Camargo committed an error. 

In the second Inciarte hit an RBI double to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Davis hit a two-run single to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.  In the bottom of the seventh Inciarte hit an RBI single to tie the game at two.  Flowers hit an RBI single to give the Braves a 3-2 lead, Joyce lined into a force out and a run scored , Acuna hit an RBI single and it was 5-2.  Albies hit an RBI single and the lead was pushed to 6-2.  In the ninth Rosario hit an RBI single and Guillorme hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 6-4 but that would be the final score. 

New York Yankees defeat the Baltimore Orioles to complete four-game sweep


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-5.  J.A. Happ started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Gary Sanchez had three hits and three RBI to lead the offense. 

Happ pitched five innings giving up six hits and two runs with three walks and six strikeouts.  Happ picked up his 10th win of the season.  Luis Cessa pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout, Adam Ottavino pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Zack Britton pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Aroldis Chapman saved his 33rd game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Dylan Bundy pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up five hits and six runs with two walks and four strikeouts and he lost his 13th game of the season.  Richard Bleier pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he walked one, Shawn Armstrong pitched 2/3 of an inning striking out one and Mychal Givens pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Gio Urshela had a hit and Didi Gregorius had a hit and an RBI.  Sanchez had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Mike Tauchman drew a walk.  Mike Ford had a hit and two RBI, Torres hit a double and Sanchez hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 3-7 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

Hanser Alberto had a hit, Trey Mancini drew two walks and Renato Nunez had five hits and two RBI.  Jonathan Villar had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Pedro Severino had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Jace Peterson drew a walk.  Stevie Wilkerson had a hit, Alberto, Nunez and Villar each hit a double and the Orioles were 4-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. 

In the first Villar hit an RBI single giving the Orioles a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Gregorius hit an RBI single to tie the game at one and Sanchez hit a three-run homerun to push the lead to 4-1.  In the third Severino hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-2.  In the sixth Ford hit a two-run single to extend the lead to 6-2.  In the seventh Nunez hit a two-run double cutting the lead to 6-4 and Villar hit an RBI double making it a 6-5 game but that would be the final score. 

The Yankees swept the four-game series and will remain at home to take on the Cleveland Indians Thursday night in the start of a four-game series.

New York Mets were defeated in Atlanta


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night.  The game took place at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia and the final score was 5-3.  Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Juan Lagares led the offense with four hits. 

Wheeler pitched five innings giving up 12 hits and five runs with two walks and two strikeouts.  Wheeler lost his seventh game of the season.  Brad Brach pitched a perfect inning, Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Jeurys Familia pitched to one batter and struck him out.  Drew Gagnon pitched a perfect inning. 

Max Fried pitched six innings giving up six hits and a run with three walks and four strikeouts.  Fried won his 14th game of the season.  Luke Jackson pitched an inning with two strikeouts, Shane Greene pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and got him out.  Anthony Swarzak pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and Mark Melancon pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and earned his second save of the season. 

Jeff McNeil had a hit and an RBI, Pete Alonso had a hit and drew a walk and J.D. Davis had a hit and drew a walk.  Wilson Ramos had a hit and drew a walk, Michael Conforto had an RBI and Todd Frazier had two hits.  Lagares had four hits and an RBI, Lagares hit a double and Frazier hit a double.  The Mets were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.

In the first Donaldson hit an RBI single, Joyce hit an RBI single to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.  In the second McNeil hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the second Freeman hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-1.  In the fourth Acuna hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 4-1.  In the fifth Inciarte hit an RBI double and the lead was 5-1.  In the eighth Conforto hit into an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 5-2 and Lagares hit an RBI single to make it a 5-3 game and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-3.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Gio Urshela and Austin Romine each had three hits to lead the offense. 
German won his 16th game of the season pitching seven innings and giving up five hits and two runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Adonis Rosa pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts. 
John Means pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up eight hits and six runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Means lost his eighth game of the season.  Miguel Castro pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run and Chandler Shepherd pitched four innings giving up five hits and a run with three walks and two strikeouts.

Anthony Santander had a hit and an RBI, Renato Nunez had a hit and an RBI and Jace Peterson had a hit.  Hanser Alberto had a hit, Stevie Wilkerson had a hit and an RBI and Rio Ruiz had a hit and drew a walk.  Alberto, Ruiz and Peterson each hit a double and Santander, Wilkerson and Nunez each hit a homerun. The Orioles were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.   Peterson had an outfield assist. 
In the first LeMahieu hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the second Maybin hit a two-run single to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  In the fourth Santander hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Judge hit a two-run double to push the lead to 5-1.  Urshela hit an RBI single to make it a 6-1 game and Sanchez hit an RBI double to increase the lead to 7-1.  In the fifth Wilkerson hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 7-2.  In the bottom of the fifth Tauchman hit an RBI double to push the lead to 8-2.  In the ninth Nunez hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 8-3 and that would be the final score. 
The two teams will play the fourth and final game on Wednesday afternoon.  The Yankees will be looking for the four game sweep. 

The New York Yankees defeat the Baltimore Orioles to sweep doubleheader


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 11-8.  It was game 2 of a doubleheader and Chad Green served as the opener for the Yankees.  He pitched well, the bullpen had their struggles.  DJ LeMahieu, Gio Urshela and Gleyber Torres each had three hits to lead the Yankees offense. 

Green pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up no hits or runs and no walks with a strikeout.  Joe Mantiply earned his first win of the season pitching three innings and giving up three hits and three runs with two walks and two strikeouts.  Brady Lail pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and two strikeouts, Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with a strikeout and Adam Ottavino pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and earned his second save of the season. 

Ty Blach pitched four innings giving up seven hits and seven runs with six of them being earned.  He walked three and struck out four and lost his first game of the season.  Evan Phillips pitched an inning giving up two hits and three runs with two walks and two strikeouts and Tom Eshelman pitched three innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout. 

LeMahieu had three hits and drew a walk, Aaron Judge drew two walks and Urshela had three hits.  Torres had three hits, six RBI and drew a walk, Brett Gardner had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk.  Mike Ford had a hit and an RBI, Breyvic Valera had a hit and drew a walk and Gardner hit a triple.  Ford hit a homerun and Torres hit two homeruns.  The Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

In the first Gardner hit a three-run triple to give the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  In the second a wild pitch pushed the lead to 4-0.  In the third Ruiz hit an RBI ground out and Mancini hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 4-3.  In the fourth Ford hit a solo homerun and the lead was extended to 5-3.  In the fifth Torres hit a three-run homerun and it was 8-3 Yankees.  In the sixth Torres hit another three-run homerun to push the lead to 11-3.  In the seventh Alberto hit a three-run homerun and in the ninth Ruiz hit a two-run single to cut the lead to 11-8 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees swept their sixth double header of the year and will play game three of the four game series on Tuesday night. 

New York Yankees defeat Baltimore Orioles in Game 1 of double header


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Monday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-5.  James Paxton started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Gio Urshela had three hits to lead the offense. 

Paxton pitched six innings giving up three runs on five hits.  He walked two and struck out seven and earned his eighth win of the season.  Tommy Khanle pitched a perfect inning, Luis Cessa pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and Zack Britton pitched 2/3 of an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Aroldis Chapman earned his 32nd save of the season pitching a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Gabriel Ynoa pitched six innings giving up seven hits and seven runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  He took his seventh loss of the season.  Branden Kline pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and Jimmy Yacabonis pitched an inning with a walk. 

Brett Gardner had a hit and drew two walks, Urshela had three hits and two RBI and Didi Gregorius had a hit and four RBI.  Gleyber Torres had a hit and an RBI, Cameron Maybin had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Breyvic Valera had a hit.  Gardner and Urshela each hit a double.  Gregorius, Torres, Urshela and Maybin each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 2-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.

In the first Nunez hit a sac fly to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Gregorius hit a three-run homerun and Torres hit a solo homerun giving the Yankees a 4-1 lead.  In the second Urshela hit an RBI double to push the lead to 5-1.  In the third Mancini hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 5-2.  In the bottom of the fifth Urshela hit a solo homerun to extend the Yankee lead to 6-2.  In the sixth Santander hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-3.  In the bottom of the sixth Maybin hit a solo homerun and in the bottom of the seventh Gregorius hit a sac fly to make it 8-3.  In the eighth Nunez hit an RBI ground out and Peterson drew an RBI walk to cut the lead to 8-5 but that would be the final score.

New York Mets fail to sweep the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets were defeated by the Washington Nationals on Sunday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-4.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched well but not deep into the game.  The Mets bullpen had some issues and Jeff McNeil and Wilson Ramos each had two hits. 

deGrom pitched five innings giving up four hits and three runs with none being earned.  He walked one and struck out seven.  Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and he struck out two, Brad Brach pitched to one batter and retired him and Robert Gsellman pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and he took his third loss of the season.  Justin Wilson pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts.  Edwin Diaz pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts. 

Anibal Sanchez pitched five innings giving up seven hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Tanner Rainey pitched 2/3 of an inning with a walk, Matt Grace pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and he won his first game of the season.  Hunter Strickland pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one, Daniel Hudson pitched to one batter and got him out and Wander Suero pitched an inning with two strikeouts.  Sean Doolittle pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and he saved his 26th game of the season. 

McNeil had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Amed Rosario had a hit and Michael Conforto had an RBI.  Pete Alonso had a hit, J.D. Davis had a hit and Ramos had two hits.  Joe Panik had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, deGrom had a hit and McNeil hit two doubles and Ramos hti a double.  The Mets were 4-12 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Alonso and McNeil each committed an error and McNeil had an outfield assist. 

Trea Turner had a hit, Adam Eaton had a hit and drew a walk and Anthony Rendon had four hits.  Juan Soto drew two walks, Victor Robles had a hit and two RBI and Asdrubal Cabrera had two hits and two RBI.  Kurt Suzuki had a hit, Cabrera hti a double and Robles hit a homerun.  The Nationals were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Eaton had a stolen base. 

In the first Cabrera reached on a throwing error and three runs scored to give the Nationals a 3-0 lead.  In the second Panik hit an RBI single and McNeil hit a two-run double to tie the game at three.  In the seventh Cabrera hit a two-run double to give the Nationals a 5-3 lead.  In the bottom of the seventh Conforto hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 5-4.  In the ninth Robles hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 7-4 lead and that was the final score. 

The Mets won two out of three in the series and will be off on Monday.  They will head to Atlanta to take on the Braves on Tuesday night.   

New York Yankees shutout the Toronto Blue Jays to earn series split


The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada and the final score was 1-0.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched great.  Gio Urshela led the offense with two hits. 

Tanaka pitched eight innings giving up three hits and no runs.  He walked none and struck out four and won his eighth game of the season.  Aroldis Chapman saved his 31st game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and struck out one. 

Trent Thornton pitched six innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and six strikeouts and he lost his eighth game of the season.  Sam Gaviglio pitched three innings giving up two hits and he struck out two. 

DJ LeMahieu drew a walk, Aaron Judge had a hit and Urshela had two hits.  Brett Gardner had a hit and an RBI, Austin Romine had a hit and Urshela and Gardner each hit a double.  The Yankees were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  LeMahieu committed an error and Romine was caught stealing. 

Bo Bichette had two hits, Justin Smoak had a hit and Brandon Drury had a hit.  The Blue Jays left two men on base.  Bichette was caught stealing. 

The only run of the game came in the fifth inning.  Gardner hit an RBI double to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead and that was all that they would need.  The two teams split the four-game series and the Yankees will return home to begin a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles.  They will play a day/night doubleheader on Monday.   

New York Mets win a close one over the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals on Saturday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 4-3.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Met and he pitched well.  The Mets offense only managed five hits. 

Syndergaard pitched seven innings giving up seven hits and two runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Seth Lugo won his fifth game of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and a run with three strikeouts. 

Patrick Corbin pitched six innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and eight strikeouts.  Hunter Strickland pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Fernando Rodney pitched giving up two hits and two runs with one being earned and he lost his fifth game of the season.  Daniel Hudson pitched an inning giving up a walk.

In the first Soto hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Davis hit a solo homerun and Ramos hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the eighth Soto hit a solo homerun to give the Nationals a 3-2 lead.  In the bottom of the eighth Guillorme hit a solo homerun to tie the game at three.  Davis hit a sac fly to give the Mets a 4-3 lead and that would be the final score. 
The Mets will be looking for the three-game sweep on Sunday.

New York Mets win in dramatic fashion over the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-6.  Marcus Stroman started for the Mets and he pitched ok.  Ahmed Rosario had three hits and Michael Conforto and J.D. Davis each had two to lead the offense. 

Stroman pitched six innings giving up nine hits and four runs.  He walked three and struck out nine.  Justin Wilson pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts, Robert Gsellman pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and Luis Avilan won his third game of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning and striking out two. 

Stephen Strasburg pitched seven innings giving up four hits and three runs with two walks and six strikeouts.   Daniel Hudson pitched an inning and gave up a hit and he struck out one and Sean Doolittle pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up six hits and four runs and he lost his fourth game of the season and blew his fifth save of the season. 

Jeff McNeil drew a walk, Rosario had three hits and Conforto had two hits and an RBI.  Pete Alonso had a hit and two RBI, Davis had two hits and an RBI and Wilson Ramos had a hit and drew a walk.  Todd Frazier had a hit and three RBI.  Joe Panik had a hit, Rosario and Davis each hit a double.  Alonso, Davis and Frazier each hit a homerun and the Nationals were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Conforto had a stolen base. 

Trea Turner had two hits and drew two walks, Adam Eaton had three hits and Anthony Rendon had two hits and three RBI.  Juan Soto had three hits and two RBI, Matt Adams had two hits and Victor Robles had a hit and drew a walk.  Soto hit a double and Rendon hit a triple.  Soto and Rendon each hit a homerun and the Nationals were 2-13 with runners in scoring position and left 8 men on base.  Turner, Soto and Eaton each had a stolen base and Robles was caught stealing. 

In the fourth Rendon hit an RBI triple and Soto hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 3-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Alonso hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 3-2.  Davis hit a solo homerun and the game was tied at three.  In the seventh Rendon hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 5-3 lead.  In the ninth a wild pitch made it 6-3 Nationals.  In the bottom of the ninth Frazier hit a three-run homerun to tie the game and Conforto hit an RBI single to win the game and give the Mets a 7-6 victory. 

New York Yankees lose a close one to the Toronto Blue Jays


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada and the final score was 5-4.  Chad Green was the opener for the Yankees and pitched well, Stephen Tarpley struggled and the rest of the bullpen pitched fairly well.   The offense only managed five hits and no one had more then a hit. 

Green pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Tarpley pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and two runs with four walks and four strikeouts, Chance Adams pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts and Tommy Khanle pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts.  Adam Ottavino lost his fourth game of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts and Zack Britton pitched an inning with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Wilmer Font pitched two innings with three strikeouts, Jacob Waguespack pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with two walks and two strikeouts and Tim Mayza pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk.  Jason Adam pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk with two strikeouts and Derek Law pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had an RBI, Aaron Judge had a hit and drew a walk and Gary Sanchez had a hit and an RBI.  Gio Urshela had a hit and two RBI, Brett Gardner had a hit and Mike Ford drew a walk.  Mike Tauchman had a hit and drew three walks, he hit a double and Sanchez and Urshela each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 0-1 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

Bo Bichette drew a walk, Cavan Biggio had a hit and Vlad Guerrero Jr. had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Justin Smoak drew a walk, Derek Fisher had a hit and drew a walk and Teoscar Hernandez had a hit, three RBI and drew two walks.  Danny Jansen drew two walks, Guerrero Jr. hit a triple and Hernandez hit a homerun.  The Blue Jays were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

In the fourth Sanchez hit a solo homerun giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth Hernandez hit a three-run homerun to give the Jays a 3-1 lead.  In the sixth Urshela hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at three.  In the seventh LeMahieu hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead.  In the bottom of the seventh Guerrero Jr.  hit a two-run triple to give the Blue Jays back the lead at 5-4.  That would be the final score of the game.  The Yankees will try and even the series with a win on Sunday afternoon before heading home to play a double header against the Orioles on Monday.

Happ started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch very well.  DJ LeMahieu and Mike Tauchman each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Happ pitched five innings giving up four hits and six runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Happ took his seventh loss of the season.  Nestor Cortes Jr. pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out two and Tommy Khanle pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout. 

Sean Reid-Foley pitched five innings giving up five hits and a run with two walks and five strikeouts.  Reid-Foley won his second game of the season.  Tim Mayza pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts, Justin Shafer pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Buddy Boshers pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout.  Derek Law pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

LeMahieu had two hits, Brett Gardner had a hit and Gio Urshela drew a walk.  Didi Gregorius had a hit, Tauchman had two hits and an RBI and Mike Ford had a hit and an RBI.  Brayvic Valera drew a walk, Gardner hit a double and LeMahieu hit a double.  Tauchman and Ford each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

In the first Grichuk hit a two-run homerun to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead.  In the second Hernandez hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-0.  In the fourth Tauchman hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Jansen hit a three-run homerun to extend the lead to 6-1.  In the seventh Ford hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-2.  In the eighth Hernandez hit a two-run homerun to make it an 8-2 game and that would be the final score.
