The New York
Mets defeated the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night. The game took place at Citi Field in
Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-0.
Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and pitched great. Jeff McNeil and J.D. Davis each had two hits
to lead the Mets offense.
Wheeler
pitched eight innings giving up eight hits and no runs. He walked one and struck out five. Wheeler won his ninth game of the season and
Robert Gsellman pitched an inning giving up a hit.
Hector Noesi
pitched five innings giving up five hits and five runs with three walks and
three strikeouts and he lost his first game of the season. Adam Conley pitched a perfect inning with two
strikeouts, Jose Quijada pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out
two and Ryne Stanek pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out
one.
McNeil had
two hits and drew a walk, Davis had two hits and drew a walk and Pete Alonso
had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.
Wilson Ramos had a hit and three RBI, Todd Frazier had a hit and an RBI
and Luis Guillorme had a hit. Frazier,
Davis and Guillorme each hit a double and Ramos and Alonso each hit a
homerun. The Mets were 2-7 with runners
in scoring position and left five men on base.
Guillorme committed an error.
Curtis Granderson
drew a walk, Jon Berti had two hits and Garrett Cooper had two hits. Starlin Castro had a hit, Lewis Brinson had two
hits and Noesi had a hit. Martin Prado
had a hit, Berti hit two doubles and the Marlins were 0-13 with runners in
scoring position and left eight men on base.
In the first
Frazier hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 1-0 lead. In the third Ramos hit a three-run homerun to
push the lead to 4-0. In the fifth
Alonso hit a solo homerun and it was 5-0 which would be the final score.
