Jacob deGrom dominates as Mets win in Philly


The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.  The game took place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the final score was 3-1.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he dominated.  Jeff McNeil and Todd Frazier each had two hits to lead the offense. 

deGrom pitched a complete game giving up one unearned run on seven hits and he struck out nine.  deGrom earned his eighth win of the season. 

Jake Arrieta lost his eighth game of the season pitching six innings and giving up four hits and a run with six strikeouts.  Luis Garcia pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs with two strikeouts, Edubray Ramos pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and Hector Neris pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.  

Amed Rosario had a hit, McNeil had two hits and an RBI and Wilmer Flores had a hit and an RBI.  Frazier had two hits, Devin Mesoraco had a hit and an RBI and Frazier hit a double.  McNeil hit a triple and Mesoraco hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  McNeil had a stolen base and deGrom committed an error. 

Cesar Hernandez had a hit, Rhys Hoskins had two hits and Carlos Santana had a hit.  Nick Williams had a hit, Maikel Franco had two hits, Franco hit a double and Hoskins hit a double.  The Phillies were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Hoskins had a stolen base and Arrieta and Santana each committed an error.  Ramos had a passed ball. 

In the fourth Flores hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Mesoraco hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.  McNeil hit an RBI triple and the lead was pushed to 3-0.  In the bottom of the seventh Herrera grounded into a force out and a run scored to cut the lead to 3-1. 

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Sunday night in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.   

New York Mets are doubled up by the Philadelphia Phillies


The New York Mets were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night.  The game took place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the final score was 4-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched ok and Austin Jackson led the offense with three hits and Jeff McNeil contributed two hits. 

Syndergaard lost his third game of the season pitching 5 2/3 innings and giving up eight hits and four runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Daniel Zamora pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out two and Robert Gsellman pitched an inning with a walk. 

Aaron Nola pitched seven innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and 11 strikeouts and won his 14th game of the season.  Victor Arano pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts, Adam Morgan pitched to one batter and struck him out and Pat Neshek pitched an inning giving up a hit and he saved his third game of the season. 

McNeil had two hits, Jackson had three hits and an RBI and Todd Frazier had an RBI.  Jose Bautista had a hit, Kevin Plawecki drew a walk and McNeil hit a double and the Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Jackson was picked off. 

Cesar Hernandez had two hits, Rhys Hoskins drew two walks and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and an RBI.  Nick Williams had a hit and an RBI, Carlos Santana had a hit and drew two walks and Maikel Franco had a hit.  Roman Quinn had a hit, Jorge Alfaro had a hit and an RBI and Cabrera hit a double and Quinn hit a triple.  The Phillies were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Franco, Hernandez and Santana each stole a base and Alfaro stole two bases.  Hernandez committed an error and Nola had a pickoff. 

In the first Cabrera hit an RBI double and Williams hit an RBI single to make it 2-0 Phillies.  Santana grounded into a double play pushing the lead to 3-0.  In the fourth Frazier hit a sac fly to cut the lead ot 3-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Alfaro hit an RBI single and it was 4-1 Phillies.  In the eighth Jackson hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 4-2 and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees win second straight over the Toronto Blue Jays


The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 11-6.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Miguel Andujar led the offense with three hits and three RBI.  Giancarlo Stanton and Gleyber Torres each had two hits. 

Severino earned his 16th win of the season pitching five innings and giving up six hits and two runs.  He walked two and struck out eight.  Tommy Khanle pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He walked one and struck out one, Jonathan Holder pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Zach Britton pitched one inning giving up a hit.  Dellin Betances pitched an inning with a walk and two strikeouts and A.J. Cole pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run with two strikeouts. 

Sean Reid-Foley pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and eight runs with six of them being earned.  He walked three and struck out six.  Jake Petricka pitched 1 2/3 innings with two strikeouts, Jaime Garcia pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Luis Santos pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up three hits and three runs with a strikeout.  Ryan Tepera pitched 2/3 of an inning with a walk. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Stanton had two hits and an RBI and Aaron Hicks had an RBI and drew two walks.  Didi Gregorius had a hit and three RBI, Andujar had three hits and three RBI and Torres had two hits.  Greg Bird had a hit and two RBI, Neil Walker had a hit and drew a walk and Austin Romine had an RBI.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit, Andujar hit a double and Gregorius, Stanton, Andujar and Bird each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Gardner had a stolen base and committed an error and Walker also committed an error.  Walker had an outfield assist and Severino had a pickoff. 

Billy McKinney had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk, Curtis Granderson had two hits and drew a walk and Kendrys Morales had a hit.  Justin Smoak had two hits and an RBI, Kevin Pillar had a hit and an RBI, Teoscar Hernandez had a hit and drew a walk, Danny Jansen had two hits and an RBI and Aledmys Diaz had a hit.  Richard Urena had a hit and drew a walk, Jansen, Granderson and Pillar each hit a double and the Blue Jays were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  McKinney was picked off and Jansen and Travis each committed an error. 

In the first Gregorius hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the second Romine hit a sac fly to push the lead to 3-0.  In the third Andujar hit a two-run double to push the Yankees lead to 5-0.  Bird hit an RBI ground out and it was 6-0.  In the fourth Stanton hit a solo homerun and in the fifth Andujar hit a solo homerun to make it 8-0.  In the sixth Smoak hit an RBI single and Jansen hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 8-2.  McKinney hit an RBI single and three runs scored after an error by Walker to cut the lead to 8-5.  In the bottom of the eighth Bird hit a solo homerun, Hicks drew an RBI walk and Gregorius hit a sac fly to extend the lead to 11-5.  In the ninth Pillar hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 11-6 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees will go for the sweep on Sunday afternoon. 

New York Yankees fight back for victory over the Toronto Blue Jays


The New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-5.  Lance Lynn started for the Yankees and he started out bad but turned it around and the bullpen was good.  Giancarlo Stanton and Miguel Andujar led the offense with two hits each. 

Lynn pitched four innings giving up six hits and five runs with three walks and five strikeouts.  Chad Green picked up his sixth win of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and he struck out one and David Robertson earned his third save of the season pitching a perfect inning with two strikeouts. 

Marcus Stroman pitched four innings giving up six hits and five runs with two walks and two strikeouts.  Joe Biagini pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and he lost his seventh game of the season, Tim Mayza pitched 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and Luis Santos pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout.

In the first Morales hit an RBI single, Pillar hit an RBI single and Diaz hit a two-run single to give the Blue Jays a 4-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Gregorius hit an RBI triple and Andujar hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 4-2.  In the fourth Walker hit a three-run homerun to give the Yankees a 5-4 lead.  In the fifth Travis hit an RBI single to tie the game at five.  In the bottom of the fifth Torres hit into a force out and a run scored to give the Yankees a 6-5 lead.  In the seventh Stanton hit a solo homerun to give the Yankees a 7-5 lead and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.

New York Mets shutdown by the Cincinnati Reds


The New York Mets were defeated by the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 6-1.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  The Mets offense produced four hits and two were by Brandon Nimmo. 

Vargas pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and three runs with a strikeout and lost his eighth game of the season.  Paul Sewald pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out three, Bobby Wahl pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs and Tyler Bashlor pitched two innings giving up two hits and a walk.  Drew Smith pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Jacob Rhame pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout. 

Sal Romano pitched six innings giving up two hits and a run with three walks and five strikeouts and picked up his seventh win of the season.  Jared Hughes pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, David Hernandez pitched an inning and struck out one and Amir Garrett pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one. 

Todd Frazier had a hit and drew a walk, Nimmo had two hits and drew a walk and Jose Bautista had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Nimmo hit a double and the Mets were 1-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Jose Peraza had a hit, Brandon had a hit and Scooter Gennett had three hits and an RBI.  Eugenio Suarez had a hit, Phillip Ervin had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk and Tucker Barnhart had a hit and an RBI.  Dilson Herrera had a hit and an RBI, Billy Hamilton had a hit and Suarez hit a double.  Ervin and Herrera each hit a homerun and the Reds were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Peraza had a stolen base and Hamilton had two stolen bases. 

In the first Gennett hit an RBI single giving the Reds a 1-0 lead.  Ervin hit a sac fly and Barnhart hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-0.  In the second Bautista hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the third Ervin hit a two-run homerun to increase the lead to 5-1.  In the ninth Herrera hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 6-1 and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees power their way to fourth straight win


The New York Yankees defeated the Texas Rangers on Thursday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-3.  J.A. Happ started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the Yankees hit five homeruns including two by Neil Walker. 

Happ pitched six innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and nine strikeouts and earned his 12th game of the season.  David Robertson pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, Dellin Betances pitched an inning with a strikeout and Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Ariel Jurado pitched five innings giving up seven hits and six runs with three walks and a strikeout and he lost his second game of the season.  Matt Moore pitched three innings giving up two hits and a run with three strikeouts. 

Brett Gardner had two hits, Giancarlo Stanton had a hit and an RBI and Didi Gregorius had a hit and drew a walk.  Aaron Hicks had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Greg Bird drew a walk and Miguel Andujar had two hits and two RBI.  Walker had two hits and two RBI and Hicks, Andujar and Stanton each hit a homerun.  Walker hit two homeruns and the Yankees were 1-1 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

Shin-Soo Choo had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Roughned Odor had a hit and Jurickson Profar had two hits and an RBI.  Robinson Chirinos drew two walks, Willie Calhoun had a hit and drew a walk and Choo and Odor each hit a double.  Profar hit a homerun and the Rangers were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Odor committed an error and Gallo had an outfield assist. 

In the first Hicks hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Profar hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Andujar hit a two-run homerun to push the Yankees lead to 4-1.  Walker hit a solo homerun to make it 5-1 going back-to-back.  In the fifth Choo hit a two-run double to cut the lead to 5-3.  In the bottom of the fifth Stanton hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 6-3.  In the sixth Walker hit his second homerun of the game to extend the lead to 7-3 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play their second game of four on Friday night. 

New York Yankees defeat the Chicago White Sox in 13 innings


The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chiago, Illinois and the final score was 4-3 in 13 innings.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and he pitched well and so did the bullpen except for Zach Britton who blew the save.  Miguel Andujar had three hits and Giancarlo Stanton had two hits to lead the offense. 

Sabathia pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with three walks and 12 strikeouts.  Chad Green pitched to one batter and got him out, David Robertson pitched an inning with a strikeout and Dellin Betances pitched a perfect inning and struck out the side.  Jonathan Holder pitched an inning with a walk, Britton blew his second save of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and two runs and Sonny Gray won his ninth game of the season pitching three innings and giving up a hit and a walk with four strikeouts. 

Reynaldo Lopez pitched seven innings giving up four hits and a run with two walks and six strikeouts.  Juan Minaya pitched 1 2/3 innings striking one out, Jace Fry pitched an inning giving up a run and a walk with three strikeouts and Tyler Danish pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk.  Xavier Cedeno pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out two, Jeanmar Gomez pitched to one batter and retired him and Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and he lost his first game of the season. 

Aaron Hicks had a hit, Stanton had two hits and two RBI and Didi Gregorius drew two walks.  Gleyber Torres drew a walk, Greg Bird drew a walk and Luke Voit had a hit.  Andujar had three hits and two RBI, Kyle Higashioka had a hit and Brett Gardner drew a walk.  Hicks and Higashioka each hti a double and Andujar and Stanton each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Stanton had an outfield assist. 

Avisail Garcia had a hit and drew a walk, Jose Abreu had ah it and three RBI and Yoan Moncada drew a walk.  Ryan LaMarre had two hits, Nicky Delmonico drew a walk and Adam Engel had a hit.  Omar Narvaez had a hit and drew two walks, Garcia and LaMarre each hit a double and Abreu hit a homerun.  The White Sox were 1-11 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Narvaez had a passed ball. 

In the third Abreu hit a sac fly to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Andujar hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one.  In the tenth Stanton hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead.  In the bottom of the tenth Abreu hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at three.  In the 13th Andujar hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play the third and final game on Wednesday night.  The Yankees will be looking for the sweep before heading home for a 11 game homestand.

New York Mets beat the Cincinnati Reds


The New York Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 6-4.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched ok.  Jeff McNeil, Wilmer Flores and Austin Jackson each had three hits to lead the offense.   

Syndergaard pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six hits and four runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  3Syndergaard won his seventh game of the season.  Bobby Wahl pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a walk and a strikeout, Robert Gsellman pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Jerry Blevins pitched a perfect inning. 

Homer Bailey pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up 11 hits and five runs with two strikeouts.  Wandy Peralta pitched 2/3 of an inning, Keury Mella pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with two strikeouts and Jared Hughes pitched an inning giving up a hit.  Raisel Iglesias pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one.

Jose Peraza had a hit and an RBI, Joey Votto had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Scooter Gennett had a hit and drew a walk.  Eugenio Suarez had a hit and two RBI, Preston Tucker had a hit and Billy Hamilton had a hit.  The Reds were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

In the first Flores hit an RBI single, Frazier hit an RBI single and Jackson hit an RBI single to make it 3-0 Mets.  In the fourth Plawecki hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 4-0.  Flores hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-0.  In the sixth McNeil hit a solo homerun making it 6-0.  In the seventh Peraza hit an RBI single, a walk drove in a run and Suarez hit a two-run single to make it 6-4 which would be the final score. 

New York Mets lose to the Atlanta Braves in extra innings


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-4 in ten innings.  Corey Oswalt started for the Mets and he pitched well and Wilmer Flores had three hits to lead the offense. 

Oswalt pitched six innings giving up eight hits and three runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  Paul Sewald pitched to two batters and got them both out, Jerry Blevins pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Seth Lugo pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with two strikeouts.  Tyler Bashlor pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and he lost his first game of the season. 

Julio Teheran pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up five hits and three runs with four walks and six strikeouts.  Jonny Venters pitched to one batter and retired him, Brad Brach pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out two and Dan Winkler pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out three.  A.J. Minter pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and he won his fourth game of the season after blowing his first save of the season.  Jesse Biddle pitched an inning giving up a hit and he saved his first game of the season.

Ronald Acuna Jr. had a hit and an RBI, Freddie Freeman had a hit and Nick Markakis had four hits and an RBI.  Johan Camargo had a hit, Ender Inciarte had three hits and two RBI and Dansby Swanson had a hit.  Teheran had a hit and an RBI including a homerun and Inciarte and Markakis each hit a homerun.  The Braves were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

In the first Flores hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third McNeil hit an RBI double to push the lead to 2-0.  In the fourth Jackson hit a solo homerun to increase the lead to 3-0.  In the fifth Teheran hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the seventh Inciarte hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at three.  In the ninth Acuna hit an RBI single to give the Braves a 4-3 lead.  In the bottom of the ninth Mesoraco hit a solo homerun after a replay review to tie the game at four.  In the tenth Markakis hit a solo homerun to give the Braves a 5-4 lead and that was the final score.

New York Yankees end five game losing streak with win in Chicago


The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.  The game took place at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois and the final score was 7-0.  Lance Lynn started for the Yankees and pitched great and Didi Gregorius, Aaron Hicks, Gleyber Torres and Neil Walker each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Lynn won his eighth game of the season pitching 7 1/3 innings giving up two hits and no runs.  He walked one and struck out nine.  A.J. Cole pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and drew a walk and struck out two. 

Dylan Covey pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and four runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Covey lost his eighth game of the season.  Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a walk, Thyago Vieira pitched an inning giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout and Matt Davidson pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout. 

Brett Gardner had a hit, Giancarlo Stanton drew two walks and Gregorius had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Hicks had two hits and an RBI, Torres had two hits and two RBI and Miguel Andujar drew a walk.  Walker had two hits and two RBI and Kyle Higashioka had a hit.  Gregorius hit a double and Torres and Walker each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Yolmer Sanchez had a hit and drew a walk, Daniel Palka had a hit and Nicky Delmonico had a hit.  Kevan Smith drew a walk, Sanchez hit a double and the White Sox were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

In the fourth Hicks hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  Torres hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0.  In the fifth a wild pitch extended the Yankees lead to 3-0, Gregorius hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 4-0.  In the eighth Torres hit a solo homerun making it 5-0 and Walker hit a two-run homerun to make it 7-0 which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.  The game took place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts and the final score was 5-4 in ten innings.  Masahiro Tanaka Aaron Hicks started for the Yankees and he pitched well and so did the bullpen until Aroldis Chapman blew the save in the ninth.  Giancarlo Stanton and Brett Gardner each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Tanaka pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up six hits and a run with a walk and nine strikeouts.  David Robertson pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out one, Zach Britton pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one and Dellin Betances pitched an inning with two strikeouts.  Chapman blew his second save of the season pitching an inning giving up a hit and three runs with two of them being earned and he walked three and struck out three.  Jonathan Holder lost his third game of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout. 

David Price pitched six innings giving up four hits and two runs with three walks and five strikeouts.  Heath Hembree pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two unearned runs with a walk and a strikeout, Ryan Brasier pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out one and Tyler Thornburg pitched an inning walking two batters.  Matt Barnes won his fourth game of the season pitching an inning with a strikeout. 

Aaron Hicks had an RBI and drew a walk, Stanton had two hits and an RBI and Gleyber Torres had an RBI and drew two walks.  Miguel Andujar had a hit, Luke Voit drew a walk and Gardner had two hits.  Austin Romine had a hit and drew a walk, Shane Robinson drew a walk and the Yankees were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Andujar committed two errors and Romine had a passed ball. 

Mookie Betts had two hits, an RBI and drew two walks, Andrew Benintendi had three hits and an RBI and Steve Pearce drew a walk.  J.D. Martinez had a hit and two RBI, Xander Bogaerts had a hit and drew a walk and Eduardo Nunez had two hits.  Sandy Leon had a hit and drew two walks, Benintendi hit a double and Betts hit a homerun.  The Red Sox were 2-12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.  Bogaerts was caught stealing and committed an error. 

In the fifth Betts hit a solo homerun to give the Red Sox a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Hicks reached on a force attempt error and two runs scored, Stanton hit an RBI single and Torres hit a sac fly to make it 4-1 Yankees.  In the bottom of the ninth Martinez hit a two-run single to cut the lead to 4-3 and Bogaerts reached on a fielding error to tie the game at four.  In the tenth Benintendi hit an RBI single to win the game 5-4 for the Red Sox.

New York Yankees double up the Baltimore Orioles


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-3.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched well and Didi Gregorius had two hits and Miguel Andujar hit a three-run homerun to lead the offense. 

Tanaka won his ninth game of the season pitching six shutout innings.  He gave up three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts.  A.J. Cole pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with two being earned.  He walked one and struck out two, Dellin Betances pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and Aroldis Chapman saved his 29th game of the season pitching a perfect inning and striking out the side. 

Yefry Ramirez pitched five innings giving up six hits and six runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Ramirez lost his fourth game of the season.  Miguel Castro pitched an inning with a walk, Jhan Marinez pitched an inning with a walk and Tanner Scott pitched an inning with three stirkeouts. 

Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk, Gregorius had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Aaron Hicks drew two walks.  Gleyber Torres had a hit and an RBI, Greg Bird had an RBI and Andujar had a hit and three RBI.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit and drew a walk, Andujar hit a homerun and the Yankees were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Gardner had a stolen base and Andujar committed an error.  Higashioka had a passed ball. 

Tim Beckham drew two walks, Jace Peterson had a hit and two RBI and Adam Jones had a hit and drew a walk.  Mark Trumbo had a hit, Nunez had a hit and Austin Wynns had two hits.  Wynss and Peterson each hit a double.  The Orioles were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Beckham committed an error. 

In the first Torres hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the third Gregorius hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0.  In the fifth Bird hit a sac fly to increase the Yankees lead to 3-0 and Andujar hit a three-run homerun to make it 6-0.  In the eighth Peterson hit a two-run double and a passed ball made it 6-3 but that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of two on Wednesday afternoon. 

New York Mets shutout the Pittsburgh Pirates


The New York Mets defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the final score was 1-0.   Zach Wheeler started for the Mets and he pitched well and the bullpen also pitched well.  Austin Jackson had two hits to lead the offense. 

Wheeler pitched six innings giving up five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts and he won his fifth game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out one and Anthony Swarzak saved his third game of the season pitching a perfect inning with two strikeouts. 

Joe Musgrove pitched seven innings giving up five hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts.  Musgrove lost his fifth game of the season.  Richard Rodriguez pitched an inning giving up a walk and Felipe Vazquez pitched an inning with a walk and two strikeouts. 

Brandon Nimmo drew a walk, Jackson had two hits and drew a walk and Kevin Plawecki had a hit.  Luis Guillorme had a hit, Wheeler had a hit and an RBI and Michael Conforto drew a walk.  Philip Evans drew a walk, Wheeler hit a double and the Mets were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base. 

Starling Marte had a hit, Gregory Polanco had three hits and Colin Moran drew a walk.  David Freese had a hit, Sean Rodriguez had a hit and the Pirates were 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Polanco had two stolen bases and Marte was caught stealing. 

In the fifth Wheeler hit an RBI double and that was the only run of the game as the Mets won 1-0.

New York Yankees double up the Baltimore Orioles


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-3.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and pitched very well and Didi Gregorius had two hits and Miguel Andujar hit a three-run homerun to lead the offense. 

Tanaka pitched six innings giving up three hits and no runs.  He walked two and struck out eight and won his ninth game of the season.  A.J. Cole pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He walked one and struck out two, Dellin Betances pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and Aroldis Chapman earned his 29th save of the season pitching a perfect inning and striking out the side.

New York Yankees defeat Kansas City Royals and take the series


The New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 6-3.  J.A. Happ made his Yankees debut and pitched well and Aaron Hicks led the offense with three hits. 

Happ pitched six innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts.  Happ earned his 11th win of the season.  Chad Green pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout, David Robertson pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts and Aroldis Chapman earned his 28th save of the season pitching a perfect inning and striking out the side. 

Burch Smith pitched four innings giving up five hits and five runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Smith lost his second game of the season.  Tim Hill pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk, Jason Adam pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Brandon Maurer pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two.  Wily Peralta pitched an inning giving up a hit.

Rosell Herrera had two hits and an RBI, Salvador Perez had two hits and an RBI and Hunter Dozier had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Alex Gordon had a hit, Gordon hit a double and Perez, Dozier and Herrera each hit a homerun.  The Royals were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Dozier committed an error. 

In the first Hicks hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Andujar hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-0.  In the fifth Torres grounded out and a run scored to make it 4-0.  Bird hit an RBI single and lead increased to 5-0.  In the sixth Perez hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the bottom of the sixth Stanton hit a sac fly to push the lead to 6-1.  In the seventh Dozier hit a solo homerun and in the eighth Herrera hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-3 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees won three out of four in the series and will take on the Baltimore Orioles for a brief two game set beginning on Monday night.

New York Yankees lose another one in TAmpa


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida and the final score was 3-2.  Luis Cessa started for the Yankees and pitched well.  Miguel Andujar led the offense with two hits but the offense didn’t do much. 

Cessa pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with three strikeouts.  Cessa lost his second game of the season.  Jonathan Holder pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a  strikeout, A.J. Cole pitched an inning with two strikeouts and Delllin Betances pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Ryne Stanke pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two,

 Jaime Schultz pitched three innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and four strikeouts and Diego Castillo pitched two innings giving up two hits and he struck out one and won his second game of the season.  Jose Alvarado pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout, Sergio Romo pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and saved his 12th game of the season.  Jonny Venters pitched to one batter and got him out.

Kevin Kiermaier had a hit and two RBI, Jake Bauers had a hit and C.J. Cron had a hit and an RBI.  Joey Wendle had two hits, Daniel Robertson had a hit and Adam Moore had a hit.  Kiermaier and Cron each hit a homerun and the Rays were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Bauers had a stolen base and Duffy committed an error. 

In the second Walker hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Kiermaier hit a two-run homerun to give the Rays a 2-1 lead.  Cron hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-1.  In the eighth Stanton hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 3-2 and that would be the final score. 

The Yankees lost two out of three in the series and will now head home to face the Kansas City Royals for four starting on Thursday night. 


New York Yankees shutout the Tampa Bay Rays behind a dominant Masahiro Tanaka


The New York Yankees defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida and the final score was 4-0.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched great.  Miguel Andujar, Greg Bird and Neil Walker each had two hits to pace the offense. 

Tanaka pitched a complete game shutout giving up three hits and a walk and he struck out nine.  Tanaka won his eighth game of the season. 

Yonny Chirinos pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  He lost his second game of the season.  Chih-Wei Hu pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run and he struck out four. 

Brett Gardner had a hit, Aaron Judge had a hit and Didi Gregorius had an RBI.  Andujar had two hits, Bird had two hits and Walker had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Austin Romine had two RBI, Bird and Andujar each hit a double and the Yankees were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

C.J. Cron had two hits, Ji-Man Choi drew a walk and Jesus Sucre had a hit.  Cron hit a double and the Rays were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base. 

In the first Gregorius hit an RBI ground out to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth Romine hit an RBI ground out to push the lead to 2-0.  In the seventh Romine hit a sac fly to extend the lead to 3-0 and in the ninth Walker hit an RBI single to make it 4-0 and that was the final score. 

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Wednesday afternoon.  Each team has won one making this the rubber game of the series.

New York Yankees hang on for win over the New York Mets


The New York Yankees defeated the New York Mets on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-6.  Sonny Gray started for the Yankees and he pitched well and Aaron Judge and Miguel Andujar each had three hits to lead the offense. 

Gray pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up three hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He walked three and struck out six and won his seventh game of the season.  David Robertson pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two, Jonathan Holder pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Dellin Betances pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.  Aroldis Chapman was awful trying to close out the game, he gave up a hit and three runs with three walks and didn’t record an out.  Chasen Shreve recorded his first save of the season and he pitched a perfect inning. 

Steven Matz lost his eighth game of the season pitching five innings and giving up nine hits and five runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Tim Peterson pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run and he struck out one and Anthony Swarzak pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout. 

Aaron Hicks drew a walk, Judge had three hits and an RBI and Giancarlo Stanton had a hit.  Didi Gregorius had a hit and an RBI, Andujar had three hits and an RBI and Greg Bird had two hits and two RBI.  Brandon Drury had a hit, Austin Romine had a hit and two RBI and Andujar hit two doubles.  Bird and Judge hit a double and Gregorius hit a triple.  Judge hit a homerun and the Yankees were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Robertson committed an error.

In the second Conforto hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Gregorius hit an RBI triple to tie the game at one.  Andujar hit an RBI double, Bird hit an RBI double and Romine hit an RBI single to make it 4-1 Yankees.  In the sixth Rosario hit an RBI single and Robertson committed a throwing error to allow a run to score cutting it to 4-3.  In the bottom of the sixth Bird hit an RBI single to push the lead to 5-3.  In the seventh Judge hit a solo homerun and it was 6-3 Yankees.  In the eighth Romine hit an RBI ground out to increase the lead to 7-3.  In the ninth Reyes drew an RBI walk, Nimmo was hit by a pitch and a run scored an Mesoraco hit into a double play and a run scored cutting the lead to 7-6.  The game would end with the Yankees winning 7-6. 

The two teams will play the rubber game of the three-game series on Sunday night.  Jacob deGrom will start for the Mets with Masahiro Tanaka going for the Yankees.

The New York Yankees were defeated by the New York Mets on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 7-5.  Domingo German started for the Mets and didn’t pitch very well, Adam Warren wasn’t good in relief but rest of pen was.  The Yankees offense struggled with runners in scoring position. 

German pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up five hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts.  German lost his sixth game of the season.  Warren pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with three walks and two strikeouts, Chasen Shreve pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out one and Chad Green pitched an inning with a walk.  Jonathan Holder pitched an inning and struck out one and A.J. Cole pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout. 

Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched five innings giving up eight hits and a run with four strikeouts.  Syndergaard won his sixth game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched two innings giving up four hits and two runs with two walks and two strikeouts and Robert Gsellman saved his fifth game of the season pitching two innings giving up two hits and two unearned runs with two walks and two strikeouts.

In the first Cabrera hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 1-0 lead, Conforto hit an RBI double and Bautista hit an RBI double to push the lead to 3-0.  In the third Cespedes hit a solo homerun to make it 4-0.  In the bottom of the third Stanton hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 4-1.  In the fifth Conforto hit an RBI single and Mesoraco hit an RBI single to increase their lead to 6-1.  In the bottom of the sixth Walker hit a two-run double to cut the lead to 6-3.  In the bottom of the eighth Gregorius hit an RBI double and Stanton an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 6-5.  In the ninth Conforto hit a sac fly to push the lead to 7-5 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.  Sonny Gray and Steven Matz make the start and German was optioned to AAA after the game with Luis Cessa taking his spot in the rotation.

New York Mets double up the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 4-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Brandon Nimmo had three hits and Amed Rosario had two to lead the offense. 

Syndergaard won his fifth game of the season pitching five innings and giving up seven hits and a run.  He walked two and struck out three.  Seth Lugo pitched two innings walking two and striking out three and Robert Gsellman saved his fourth game of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and a run. 

Tanner Roark lost his 12th game of the season pitching five innings giving up eight hits and four runs.  He walked two and struck out five.  Justin Miller pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, Matt Grace pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out two and Shawn Kelley pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out two. 

Nimmo had three hits, Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and drew two walks and Jose Bautista had a hit and an RBI.  Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and an RBI and Devin Mesoraco had a hit and an RBI.   Rosario had two hits and Syndergaard had a hit and an RBI.  Rosario hti a double and a triple and the Mets were 3-12 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Rosario had a stolen base.

In the first Bautista hit an RBI single and Flores hit a sac fly to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.  Mesoraco hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-0.  In the second Syndergaard hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0.  In the third Difo hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 4-1 and in the eighth Adams hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-2 which would be the final score. 

New York Yankees fight back but fall just short in loss at Cleveland


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Cleveland Indians on Friday night.  The game took place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 6-5.  Domingo German started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch very well.  Greg Bird and Tyler Wade each had two hits. 

German pitched four innings giving up five hits and six runs with four walks and six strikeouts.  German lost his fifth game of the season.  Jonathan Holder pitched two innings giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts and Chasen Shreve pitched two innings giving up two hits and a walk with three strikeouts. 

Shane Bieber won his fifth game of the season pitching seven innings giving up five hits and four runs with three of them being earned.  He walked two and struck out six.  Oliver Perez got out the only batter that he faced, Neil Ramirez pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout and Cody Allen saved his 19th game of the season pitching an inning and giving up two hits and a run with a walk. 

Brett Gardner had two RBI, Aaron Hicks drew a walk and Giancarlo Stanton had a hit and an RBI.  Bird had two hits, Miguel Andujar had a hit and drew a walk and Neil Walker had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Wade had two hits, Bird, Walker and Wade each hit a double and Stanton hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-5 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Judge was caught stealing. 

Francisco Lindor had a hit and drew two walks, Michael Brantley had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk and Jose Ramirez had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Edwin Encarnacion drew two walks, Yonder Alonso had a hit and an RBI and Tyler Naquin had a hit.  Yan Gomes had a hit and an RBI, Gomes, Brantley and Lindor each hit a double.  Ramirez hit a triple and the Indians were 2-14 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Lindor had a stolen base and Gomes had a passed ball. 

In the first Ramirez hit an RBI ground out to give the Indians a 1-0 lead.  In the second Gomes hit an RBI double, Brantley hit a two-run double and it was 4-0 Indians.  In the fifth Walker hit an RBI double, a wild pitch and Gardner hit a sac fly to make it 4-3.  In the fifth Ramirez hit an RBI triple and Alonso hit an RBI single to make it 6-3.  In the eighth Gardner hit an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 6-4 and in the ninth Stanton hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-5 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams have split the first two of four games and will play game three on Saturday night. 

New York Yankees defeat the Cleveland Indians in battle of aces that doesn't live up to it


The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night.  The game took place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 7-4.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he wasn’t at his best.  The bullpen was great and Brett Gardner and Miguel Andujar each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Severino pitched five innings giving up nine this and four runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Adam Warren pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, David Robertson won his sixth game of the season pitching a perfect inning and Dellin Betances pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout.  Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning with a strikeout and he saved his 25th game of the season.

Corey Kluber pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and six runs with two walks and nine strikeouts.  Kluber lost his fifth game of the season.  Oliver Perez pitched to one batter and got him out, Neil Ramirez pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout and Tyler Olson pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout.  Zach McAllister pitched to one batter and retired him. 

Gardner had two hits and three RBI, Aaron Judge had a hit and Didi Gregorius had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, Aaron Hicks had a hit and an RBI and Greg Bird had a hit and two RBI.  Andujar had two hits and drew a walk, Andujar, Bird, Judge and Hicks each hit a double and Gardner hit two homeruns and Gregorius hit a homerun.    The Yankees were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Hicks had a stolen base and Walker committed an error and Gardner had an outfield assist.

In the first Ramirez hit an RBI single, Encarnacion hit a solo homerun and it was 2-0 Indians.  In the third Gardner hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at two.  In the third Alonso hit an RBI single to give the Indians a 3-2 lead.  In the fourth Gregorius hit a solo homerun to tie the game at three.  Bird hit an RBI double to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead.  In the fifth Ramirez hit a solo homerun to tie the game at four.  In the eighth Hicks hit an RBI double and Bird hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 6-4 lead.  In the ninth Gardner hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 7-4 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of four on Friday night.

New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in walk-off fashion


The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-0.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched great.  Amed Rosario led the offense with two hits, they only had four. 

deGrom pitched eight innings giving up five hits and no runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning and Robert Gsellman won his sixth game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he walked one. 

Vince Velasquez pitched six innings giving up two hits and no runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Pat Neshek pitched a perfect inning, Victor Arano pitched 2/3 of an inning and he walked two and Adam Morgan retired the only batter that he faced.  Seranthony Dominguez pitched an inning with a strikeout and Mark Leiter Jr. took his first loss of the season.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and three runs with a walk. 

Michael Conforto drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and Rosario had two hits and drew a walk.  Jose Reyes drew a walk, Asdrubal Cabrera drew a walk and Brandon Nimmo had a hit and three RBI.  Rosario hit a double and Nimmo hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Rosario had a stolen base and Rosario was caught stealing. 

Cesar Hernandez had two hits, Rhys Hoskins drew a walk and Odubel Herrera had a hit.  Nick Williams had a hit, Maikel Franco had a hit and Andrew Knapp had a hit and drew a walk.  Knapp hit a double and the Phillies were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Herrera had a stolen base, Hernandez committed an error. 

In the tenth Nimmo hit a three-run walk-off homerun to give the Mets the 3-0 victory.

The New York Mets were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-3.  Drew Gagnon started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch very well and Amed Rosario led the offense with three hits. 

Gagnon pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and six runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  He lost his first game of the season.  Tyler Bashlor pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and P.J. Conlon pitched two innings giving up three hits and he struck out three. 

Enyel De Los Santos pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up five hits and three runs with three walks and six strikeouts and he won his first game of the season.  Mark Leiter Jr. pitched 2/3 of an inning and struck out one, Edubray Ramos pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Tommy Hunter pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Brandon Nimmo drew a walk, Jose Bautista had a hit and Dominic Smith had a hit.  Wilmer Flores had a hit and drew a walk, Jose Reyes had a hit and drew a walk and Rosario had three hits and an RBI.  Gagnon had an RBI, Michael Conforto had an RBI and Flores hit a double and Rosario hit two triples and the Mets were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

Rhys Hoskins had three hits, Odubel Herrera had two hits and an RBI and Carlos Santana drew two walks.  Nick Williams had three hits and two RBI, Scott Kingery had a hit and Jorge Alfaro had a hit.  Maikel Franco had two hits and four RBI, Trevor Plouffe had a hit and Kingery hit a double.  Franco and Herrera each hit a homerun and the Phillies were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Williams was caught stealing. 

In the second Franco hit a three-run homerun to give the Phillies a 3-0 lead.  In the third Williams hit a two-run single to push the lead to 5-0.  In the bottom of the third Gagnon hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the fifth Herrera hit a solo homerun extending the lead to 6-1.  In the sixth Franco hit an RBI single and it was 7-1.  In the bottom of the seventh Rosario hit an RBI triple and Conforto hit an RBI ground out to make it 7-3.  7-3 would be the final score of the game.
