New York Yankees are taken down by the Detroit TigersN


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida and the final score was 8-3.  Brady Lail started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch that well, Ben Heller also didn’t pitch very well out of the bullpen.  Tyler Wade had two hits to lead the offense. 

Lail pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Lail took the loss in the game.  Heller pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and three runs with a couple of strikeouts, Cody Carroll pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with a couple of strikeouts and Giovanny Gallegos pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out two.  J.P. Feyereisen pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two, Matt Frawley pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout and James Reeves pitched to two batters and struck them both out. 

Wade had two hits, Jace Peterson had a hit and Neil Walker had a hit and an RBI.  Jorge Saez had a hit and two RBI, Chris Gittens had a hit and Trey Amburgey drew a walk.  Gleyber Torres had a hit, Eric Kratz had a hit and Torres and Wade each hit a double.  Wade also hit a triple and Saez hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Kratz had a passed ball. 

In the first Walker hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Miguel Cabrera hit an RBI single and Nicholas Castellanos hit a sac fly to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Victor Reyes hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 3-1.  Dixon Machado hit a two-run single making it 5-1.  In the fifth Martinez hit a solo homerun and the Tigers lead was pushed to 6-1.  In the eighth Saez hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 6-3.  In the bottom of the eighth Ronny Rodriguez hit an RBI triple and Chad Huffman hit an RBI single and it was 8-3 Tigers and that would be the final score.   

New York Yankees blow lead and fall to the Tampa Bay Rays


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.  The game took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida and the final score was 4-2.  David Hale started for the Yankees and he pitched well, the relivers did as well except for Adam Warren who had a rough game.  Aaron Judge and Ronald Torreyes each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Hale pitched three innings giving up a hit and no runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Tommy Khanle pitched two innings giving up a walk, Chad Green pitched a perfect inning and Dellin Betances pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts.  Warren took the loss pitching 2/3 of an inning and giving up five hits and four runs and Chasen Shreve pitched to one batter and struck him out. 

Brett Gardner drew two walks, Judge had two hits and drew a walk and Aaron Hicks drew two walks.  Didi Gregorius had a hit and drew a walk, Tyler Austin had a hit and Austin Romine had an RBI.  Billy McKinney drew a walk, Torreyes had two hits and an RBI and Judge hit a double.  The Yankees were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.  Judge had a stolen base. 

In the second Torreyes hit an RBI single giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Romine hit a sac fly to push the lead to 2-0.  In the ninth David Rodriguez hit a three-run homerun and Carlos Gomez hit a solo homerun to give the Rays a 4-2 lead and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees defeat the Miami Marlins


The New York Yankees defeated the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida and the final score was 8-5.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  Brett Gardner, Didi Gregorius and Neil Walker each had two hits to pace the offense. 

Severino pitched five innings giving up seven hits and three runs with no walks and seven strikeouts.  Severino picked up the win.  Jonathan Holder pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and a run and he struck out five, Chasen Shreve pitched 1/3 of an inning and walked a batter and Wade LeBlanc pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with three strikeouts. 

Gardner had two hits, Greg Bird had a hit and two RBI and Chris Gittens drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Gary Sanchez had a hit and an RBI, Gregorius had two hits and Walker had two hits and two RBI.  Jace Peterson drew a walk, Brandon Drury had a hit and two RBI and Angel Aguilar had one hit.  Walker and Gregorius each hit a double and Bird and Sanchez each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 4-9 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Gardner and Aguilar each had a stolen base. 

In the first Bird hit a two-run homerun and Walker hit a two-run double to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead.  In the third Sanchez hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 5-0.  In the fourth Brian Anderson hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 5-1.  In the fifth Lewis Brinson hit a sac fly and Anderson hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 5-3.  In the sixth Drury hit a two-run single and it was 7-3 Yankees.  In the seventh J.B. Shuck hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 7-4.  Stanton hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to push the lead back up to 8-4.  Joe Dunand hit a solo homerun in the eighth to cut the lead to 8-5 and that would be the final score.

New York Yankees get tripped up by the Detroit Tigers


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Detroit Tigers on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida and the final score was 9-3.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he didn’t pitch very well.  The offense did have ten  but only Jeff Hendrix had more then a hit. 

Tanaka pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up four hits and four runs.  He walked one and struck out six and took the loss.  Cody Carroll pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he walked two, Domingo German pitched two innings giving up four hits and three runs with two walks and two strikeouts and J.P. Feyereisen pitched two innings giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and four strikeouts. 

Tyler Wade had a hit and drew a walk, Diego Castillo had a hit and Brandon Drury had a hit and drew two walks.  Greg Bird had a hit, Hendrix had two hits and Miguel Andujar had a hit and an RBI.  Eric Kratz had a hit, Francisco Diaz had a hit and Ronald Torreyes drew a walk.  Shane Robinson had a hit, Bird hit a double and the Yankees were 2-14 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.  Wade had  a stolen base and Carroll  and Wade each committed an error. 

In the first Drury scored on a balk and Andujar hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Miguel Cabrera hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the third Leonys Martin hit a two-run homerun to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead.  Victor Martinez hit an RBI single and it was 4-2 Tigers.  In the fourth Estevan Florial reached on an error and a run scored to make it a 4-3 game.  In the bottom of the fifth Nicholas Castellanos hit an RBI double and Jacoby Jones reached on a force attempt fielding error to make it 6-3.  In the sixth Gabriel Quintanaa hit a sac fly to push the lead to 7-3 and in the seventh Chad Sedio hit a two-run homerun to extend the lead to 9-3 and that would be the final score. 

New York Yankees shutout by Houston AstrosNe


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Houston Astros on Friday.  The game took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida and the final score was 2-0.  Jordan Montgomery started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  The Yankees offense only managed a couple of hits. 

Montgomery pitched four innings giving up three hits and two runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  He took the loss, David Robertson pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out three, Chad Green pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out four and Giovanny Gallegos pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.  Brady Lail pitched to one batter and retired him. 

Shane Robinson drew a walk, Tyler Austin had a hit and Aaron Hicks drew a walk.  Miguel Andujar had a hit and the Yankees were 0-1 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

In the first J.D. Davis hit a solo homerun to give the Astros a 1-0 lead and in the fourth Tyler White hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 2-0 and that would be the final score.
