The New York Yankees defeated the
Baltimore Orioles 7-0 on Wednesday night.
The game took place at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland and the final
score was 7-0. Domingo German started
for the Yankees and he pitched great.
Giancarlo Stanton had three hits and Gio Urshela had three RBI to lead
the offense.
German pitched seven innings giving
up three hits and no runs with a walk and six strikeouts. German earned his second win of the
season. Michael King pitched two innings
giving up a hit and he had two strikeouts.
Dean Kremer lost his second game of
the season pitching 4 1/3 innings and giving up ten hits and six runs with four
strikeouts. Shawn Armstrong pitched 1
2/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out one, Tyler Wells pitched two
innings giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts and Tanner Scott pitched
an inning giving up a hit.
DJ LeMahieu had two hits, Stanton
had three hits and Gleyber Torres had two hits and an RBI. Urshela had two hits and three RBI, Mike Ford
had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Aaron Hicks had an RBI. Clint Frazier had two hits and an RBI, Torres
and Frazier each hit a double and Ford, Urshela and Frazier each hit a
homerun. The Yankees were 2-5 with
runners in scoring position and left five men on base.
Trey Mancini had two hits, DJ
Stewart drew a walk and Pedro Severino had a hit. Ryan Mountcastle had a hit. The Orioles were 0-1 with runners in scoring
position and left four men on base.
In the second Ford hit a solo
homerun to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.
In the third Torres hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 2-0. Urshela hit a three-run homerun and it was 5-0
Yankees. Hicks hit a sac fly in the
fifth to push the lead to 6-0 and in the eighth Frazier hit a solo homerun to
make it 7-0 and that was the final score.
The two teams will finish their
series on Thursday afternoon.
