New York Yankees offense erupts in victory over the Guardians

 The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.  The game took place at 

Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 11-2.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees

And he pitched well.  Albert Abreu closed it out with two strong innings and four players had two hits

To lead the offense.  

Cole pitched seven innings giving up two runs on five hits and he walked two and struck out three.  Cole

Earned his third victory of the season.  Abreu pitched two innings giving up two hits and no runs with a

Strikeout.  

Hunter Gaddis started for the Guardians and he pitched three innings giving up eight hits and eight runs

With two walks and three strikeouts and he took his first loss of the season.  Tim Herron pitched two 

Innings giving up a hit and he struck out one and Xzavion Curry pitched four innings giving up four hits

And three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  

DJ LeMahieu had two hits and drew a walk, Aaron Judge had two hits and Anthony Rizzo had two hits

And two RBI and drew a walk.  Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk, Willie Calhoun had a hit

And an RBI and Oswaldo Cabrera had a hit and an RBI.  Franchy Cordero had a hit and three RBI.  

Jose Trevino had a hit and an RBI and Aaron Hicks had two hits.  LeMahieu hit a double and Cordero hit 

A homerun.  The Yankees were 6-14 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  

Steven Kwan had a hit, Andres Gimenez had two hits and Jose Ramirez had two hits and an RBI.  

Josh Naylor had an RBI, Josh Bell had a hit and Will Brennan had a hit.  Oscar Gonzalez drew a walk.  

Mike Zunino drew a walk, Ramirez and Brennan and Bell each hit a double.  The Guardians were 

1-8 with runners in scoring position  and left five men on base.  Ramirez committed an error and Brennan

Had an outfield assist.  

In the bottom of the first Ramirez hit an RBI double and Naylor hit a sac fly giving the Guardians a 2-0 

Lead.  In the second Trevino hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the third Calhoun hit an RBI 

Single tying the game at two.  Cabrera hit a sac fly and Cordero hit a three-run homerun giving the Yankees

A 6-2 lead.  In the fourth Rizzo hit an RBI single and a double play scored another run

Pushing the lead to 8-2.  In the sixth Rizzo hit an RBI single and a wild pitch extended the lead to 10-2.  

Calhoun hit into a double play and a run scored making it 11-2 and that would be the final score.  

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Wednesday afternoon.  

New York Yankees lose a tough one in Cleveland

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Cleveland Guardians on Monday night.  The game took 

Place at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and the final score was 3-2.  Domingo German started

For the Yankees and he pitched ok but not deep into the game.  The bullpen was ok and Gleyber Torres

Led the offense with a couple of hits.  

German pitched three innings giving up two hits and two runs with one being earned.  He walked five

And didn’t strike out any.  Colton Brewer pitched three innings giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout.

Ian Hamilton took his first loss of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and a run with 

Three walks and three strikeouts.  

Shane Bieber started for the Guardians and he pitched seven innings giving up five hits and two runs.  He

Walked three and struck out four and won his first game of the season.  James Karinchak pitched an inning

Giving up a hit and he struck out two and Emmanuel Clase pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts 

And he saved his third game of the season.  

Torres had two hits and drew a walk, Aaron Judge drew a walk and Anthony Rizzo had a hit.  Giancarlo 

Stanton had a hit and two RBI.  Willie Calhoun had a hit, Franchy Cordero drew a walk an dIsiah Kiner-

Falefa had a hit.  Torres, Stanton and Calhoun each had a double.  Torres hit a triple and the Yankees

Were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  German committed an error.  

Steven Kwan drew two walks, Amed Rosario drew two walks and Josh Naylor had an RBI.  

Josh Bell drew a walk, Will Brennan had an RBI and drew two walks, Mike Zunino had three hits, an RBI

And drew a walk.  Myles Straw had a hit and drew a walk, Zunino hit three doubles and the Guardians 

Were 1-13 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Gimenez, Rosario, Kwan and 

Ramirez each had a stolen base.  

In the first Stanton hit a two-run double giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the second 

Brenna hit a sac fly cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the botto of the fourth Zunino hit an RBI double tying the 

Game at two.  In the bottom of the seventh Naylor hit a s fly giving the Guardians a 3-2 lead and 

That would be the final score.  

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.  

New York Yankees even the series with Baltimore

 The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night.  The game took place at 

Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland and the final score was 4-1.  Jhony Brito started for the Yankees

And he pitched well.  The bullpen also pitched well and Giancarlo Stanton led the offense with a couple

Of hits.  

Brito pitched five innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts.  Brito won his

Second game of the season.  Michael King pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out three, 

Wandy Peralta pitched a scoreless inning giving up a walk and he struck out two and Clay Holmes

Pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout and he earned his second save of the season.  

Cole Irvin started for the Orioles and he pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with 

Four walks and five strikeouts.  He lost his second game of the season.  Austin Voth pitched two innings

Giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout, Keegan Akin pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and 

Mike Baumann pitched an inning giving up a walk and a strikeout.

Drew a walk.  Stanton had two hits and an RBI, Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew two walks and 

Aaron Hicks had a hit and an RBI.  Kyle Higashioka drew a walk, Anthony Volpe had a hit and LeMahieu

Hit a double.  Volpe hit a triple and Stanton hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-8 with runners in scoring

Position and left six men on base.  Torres was caught stealing and Higashioka committed an error.  

Cedrick Mullins had a hit, Adley Rutschman had a hit and drew two walks and Anthony Santander had an 

RBI.  Gunnar Henderson drew a walk, Kyle Stowers drew a walk and Adam Frazier had a hit.  

Ramon Urias had a hit, The Orioles were 0-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  

Henderson had a stolen base.  

In the bottom of the first Santander hit a sac fly giving the Orioles a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Hicks hit an 

RBI single tying the game at one.  In the fifth LeMahieu hit an RBI double giving the Yankees a 2-1 lead.  

Judge hit a sac fly and it was 3-1 Yankees.  Stanton hit a solo homerun extending the lead to 4-1 and that

Was the final score.  The two teams will play the rubber game of the series on Sunday afternoon.
