New York Yankees sweep the Baltimore Orioles

 The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place

at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 10-5.  Jameson Taillon started for the

Yankees and he battled.  The bullpen was good except for Ron Marinaccio who later got demoted to AAA.

The offense was led by Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo who each had two hits.  


Taillon pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and two runs with a walk and four strikeouts.  Miguel 

Castro pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and he picked up his second 

win of the season.  Wandy Peralta pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Jonathan Loaisiga pitched 

1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out three and Chad Green pitched an inning with two strikeouts.

Marinaccio pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up four hits and three runs with two strikeouts and Lucas 

Luetge pitched 1/3 of an inning with a walk.  


Bruce Zimmermann started for the Orioles and he pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up five hits and four 

unearned runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Bryan Baker pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, 

Mike Baumann pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with one being earned and two

walks.  Paul Fry pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and four runs with three being earned.  He walked 

one and struck out four.  


DJ LeMahieu had a hit, Judge had two hits and four RBI and Rizzo had two hits and an RBI.  Giancarlo 

Stanton had a hit, RBI and drew a walk, Josh Donaldson had a hit and an RBI and Joey Gallo drew a walk.

Tim Locastro had a hit and drew two walks, Marwin Gonzalez had a hit and two RBI and Kyle 

Higashioka had a hit.  Rizzo, Gonzalez and LeMahieu each hit a double and Judge hit a homerun.  The

Yankees were 6-15 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Locastro had a stolen base

and was caught stealing and Judge had an outfield assist.  


Trey Mancini had two hits and an RBI, Austin Hays had four hits and an RBI and Roughned Odor had 

three hits and an RBI.  Jorge Mateo had a hit, Ryan McKenna had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and

Ramon Urias drew a walk.  Kelvin Gutierrez had two hits and an RBI.  Hays hit three doubles, Odor hit 

two and McKenna and Mancini each hit one.  The Orioles were 4-15 with runners in scoring position 

and left 13 men on base.  Gutierrez committed two errors, Mateo committed two errors and Baumann one

error.  


In the second Gutierrez hit an RBI single giving the Orioles a 1-0 lead.  In the third Mancini hit an RBI

groundout making it 2-0.  In the bottom of the fifth Gonzalez hit an RBI double, Judge hit an RBI single 

and Rizzo hit an RBI single making it 3-2 Yankees.  Stanton hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 4-2.

In the bottom of the sixth Gonzalez hit a sac fly extending the lead to 5-2.  In the bottom of the seventh

Donaldson hit an RBI single and in the bottom of the eighth a wild pitch made it 7-2.  Judge hit a 

three-run homer and it was 10-2 Yankees.  In the ninth Hays hit an RBI double, Odor an RBI double and 

McKenna an RBI single and the lead was cut to 10-5 which would be the final score.  


The Yankees swept the three game series and won their sixth game in a row.  They will head to Kansas 

City to begin a three game series Friday night.

New York Yankees win fifth straight game with win over the Baltimore Orioles

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-2.  Jordan Montgomery started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  The bullpen was great and Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Montgomery pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  Michael King won his second game of the season pitching 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk and he struck out two and Clay Holmes pitched an inning with two strikeouts and he saved his second game of the season. 

Tyler Wells started for the Orioles and he pitched five innings giving up three hits and two runs with four strikeouts.  Joey Krehbiel pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk and a strikeout and he lost his second game of the season.  Felix Bautista pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up three hits and two runs and struck out one, Dillon Tate pitched an inning striking out one and Travis Lakins Sr. pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu drew a walk, Judge had two hits and Anthony Rizzo had a hit.  Stanton had two hits and three RBI, Josh Donaldson had a hit and drew a walk and Joey Gallo had a hit and an RBI.  Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit, Stanton and Gallo each hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

Cedric Mullins had a hit, Trey Mancini drew a walk and Anthony Santander had a hit and two RBI.  Ramon Urias had two hits, Jorge Mateo had a hit which was a double and Santander hit a homerun.  The Orioles were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Mateo was caught stealing and picked off. 

In the bottom of the first Stanton hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the sixth Santander hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at two.  In the bottom of the sixth Stanton hit a sac fly giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead.  In the bottom of the seventh Gallo hit a solo homerun pushing the Yankees lead to 4-2.  A wild pitch made it a 5-2 game and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play the third and final game of the series on Thursday afternoon.

New YOrk Yankees outslug the Baltimore Orioles

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 12-8.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and he pitched ok, the bullpen wasn’t great.  Anthony Rizzo led the offense with three hits which were all homeruns and six RBI. 

Severino pitched six innings giving up three hits and four runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Severino won his second game of the season.  Clay Holmes pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one, Lucas Luetge pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and three runs and Jonathan Loaisiga pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run.  Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Jordan Lyles pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up seven hits and six runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Lyles lost his second game of the season.  Bryan Baker pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with two strikeouts, Paul Fry pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and strikeout.  Alexander Wells pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with three strikeouts. 

DJ LeMahieu had two hits, Aaron Judge had two hits and an RBI and Rizzo had three hits and six RBI and drew a walk.  Giancarlo Stanton had two hits and an RBI, Josh Donaldson had a hit and Gleyber Torres had a hit and three RBI.  Joey Gallo had a hit and an RBI, Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit, Kyle Higashioka drew a walk and Donaldson hit a double.  Torres hit a triple and Rizzo hit three homeruns.  Gallo and Judge each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 3-9 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

Cedric Mullins had a hit, Anthony Santander had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk and Trey Mancini had a hit and an RBI.  Roughned Odor had a hit, Hays had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk and Urias had a hit and an RBI.  Chirinos drew a walk, Jorge Mateo had a hit and Odor hit a double.  Santander and Hays each hit a homerun.  The Orioles were 4-6 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Odor committed an error. 

In the third Rizzo hit a three-run homerun giving the Yankees a 3-0 lead.  In the fourth Gallo hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 4-0.  In the fifth Rizzo hit a two-run homerun extending the lead to 6-0.  In the sixth Santander hit a three-run homerun cutting the lead to 6-3.  In the seventh Urias hit an RBI single making it 6-4.  In the bottom of the seventh Stanton hit an RBI single and Torres hit a three-run triple making it a 10-4 game. In the eighth Mancini hit an RBI single and Hays hit a three-run homerun cutting the lead to 10-8.  Judge hit a solo homerun in the eighth making it 11-4 and Rizzo hit a homerun to make it 12-8 and that was the final.

New York Mets lose to the Arizona Diamondbacks

 The New York Mets were defeated by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.  The game took place at

Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and the final score was 5-2.  Trevor Williams started for the Mets and 

did not pitch well.  Jeff McNeil had two hits to lead the offense.  


Williams pitched two innings giving up seven hits and four runs and lost his second game of the season.

Sean Reid-Foley pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two walks with a strikeout, Adam Ottavino

pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with three strikeouts and Joely Rodriguez pitched an

inning with a walk.  Adonis Medina pitched a perfect inning striking out the side.  


Humberto Castellanos won his first game of the season pitching five innings and giving up four hits and

two runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Noe Ramirez pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two walks

and struck out two, Kyle Nelson pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and Ian Kennedy pitched an 

inning giving up a hit and he struck out two.  Joe Mantiply pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and

saved his first game of the season.  


Brandon Nimmo drew a walk, Starling Marte had a hit and Francisco Lindor had a hit and drew a walk.

Eduardo Escobar drew a walk, Dom Smith had a hit and Robinson Cano had a hit.  McNeil had two hits, 

and an RBI and Tomas Nido had a hit and an RBI.  Smith hit a double and McNeil a triple.  The Mets 

were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  


Daulton Varsho had two hits and an RBI, Ketel Marte had an RBI and David Peralta had a hit and an RBI.

Christian Walker had a hit and an RBI, Seth Beer drew three walks and Pavin Smith had two hits and an

RBI.  Carson Kelly had two hits, Sergio Alcantara had a hit and Geraldo Perdomo had two hits.  Walker 

and Smith each hit a double and Perdomo hit a triple.  The Diamondbacks were 3-13 with runners in 

scoring position and left nine men on base.  Varsho had a stolen base, Marte committed an error.  


In the first Walker grounded into a force out and a run scored giving the Diamondbacks a 1-0 lead.  

In the second Varsho hit an RBI single pushing the lead to 2-0.  Marte grounded into a force out making 

it 3-0.  In the bottom of the third Smith hit an RBI double pushing the lead to 4-0.  In the fifth McNeil hit 

an RBI triple, Nido hit an RBI single and it was 4-2.  In the sixth Peralta hit a sac fly extending the lead

to 5-2 which was the final score.  

Gerrit Cole pitches well and the offense erupts in Yankees victory

 The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at

Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 10-2.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees

and pitched well.  DJ LeMahieu led the offense with three hits and three RBI.  Two other players had two 

hits each.  


Cole pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up four hits and no runs with one walk and nine strikeouts.  He won his

first game of the season.  Wandy Peralta pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and Ron Marinaccio

pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout.  


Aaron Civale pitched three innings giving up seven hits and six runs with a walk and three strikeouts.

Civale took his second loss of the season.  Sam Hentges pitched two innings giving up two hits and he

struck out three and Kirk McCarty pitched three innings giving up four hits and four runs with two 

walks and three strikeouts.  


LeMahieu had three hits and three RBI, Marwin Gonzalez had a hit and Aaron Judge had a hit and drew

a walk.  Tim Locastro had a hit and two RBI, Anthony Rizzo had two hits and two RBI and Gleyber 

Torres had two hits and drew a walk.  Aaron Hicks had a hit and an RBI, Joey Gallo had a hit and an

RBI and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit and an RBI.  Jose Trevino drew a walk, Judge, LeMahieu, Rizzo, 

Gallo and Torres each hit a double and Rizzo, LeMahieu and Locastro each hit a homer.  The Yankees 

were 2-9 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Hicks had a stolen base.  


Jose Ramirez had a hit and drew a walk, Amed Rosario drew a walk and Owen Miller had a hit.  

Bobby Bradley had a hit, Andres Gimenez had two hits and two RBI and Austin Hedges had a hit and

drew a walk.  Gimenez hit a triple and the Guardians were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and 

left six men on base.  Hedges committed an error and Straw had an outfield assist.  


In the bottom of the first Rizzo hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of 

the second LeMahieu hit an RBI double pushing the Yankees lead to 3-0.  In the bottom of the third 

Hicks flew into a force out and a run scored making it 4-0.  Gallo hit an RBI double and Kiner-Falefa 

hit a sac fly increasing the lead to 6-0.  In the bottom of the sixth LeMahieu hit a two-run homerun 

making it 8-0.  Locastro hit a two-run homerun in the eighth pushing the lead to 10-0.  In the ninth 

Gimenez hit a two-run triple cutting the lead to 10-2 and that would be the final score.  The Yankees 

swept the three-game series and will be off on Monday before beginning a three-game set with the 

Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.  

New York Yankees walk-off against the Cleveland Guardians

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-4.  Nestor Cortes started for the Yankees and he pitched well and Isiah Kiner-Falefa led the offense with a couple of hits. 

Cortes pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up a hit and two runs with two walks and eight strikeouts.  Clay Holmes pitched 2/3 of an inning, Chad Green pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs and Miguel Castro pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and earned his first victory of the season. 

Cal Quantrill started for the Guardians and he pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs with three walks and two strikeouts.  Enyel De Los Santos pitched to two batters and struck them both out, Bryan Shaw pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Nick Sandlin pitched to one batter and struck him out.  Emmanuel Clase pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and he walked one and struck out one and lost his second game of the season and also got his first blown save of the season. 

DJ LeMahieu had a hit, Anthony Rizzo had a hit and Josh Donaldson had a hit and an RBI.  Aaron Hicks had a hit and drew a walk, Joey Gallo had a hit and drew a walk and Kiner-Falefa had two hits and two RBI.  Kyle Higashioka had a hit and an RBI, Gleyber Torres had a hit and an RBI and Kiner-Falefa hit a double.  Donaldson hit a homerun and the Yankees were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

Myles Straw had a hit, Josh Naylor had two hits and two RBI and Austin Hedges had a hit and two RBI.  Naylor and Hedges each hit a homerun and the Guardians left one man on base.  Straw had an outfield assist. 

In the fifth Naylor hit a two-run homerun giving the Guardians a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fifth Kiner-Falefa hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 2-1.  Higashioka hit into a double play but it was a sac fly tying the game at two.  In the bottom of the seventh Donaldson hit a solo homerun giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead.  In the eighth Hedges hit a two-run homerun giving the Guardians back the lead at 4-3.  In the bottom of the ninth Kiner-Falefa hit an RBI double to tie the score with two outs and Torres hit an RBI single to win the game.  It was a pinch hit and a walk-off for Torres. 

The Yankees will look for the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon. 

New York Yankees get past the Guardians with some Aaron Judge power

 The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians on Friday night.  The game took place at 

Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 4-1.  Jameson Taillon started and 

pitched well but Michael King dominated out of the pen.  Aaron Judge led the offense with two 

homeruns.  


Taillon pitched five innings giving up seven hits and a run.  He walked none and struck out five and

earned his first win of the season.  King pitched three innings giving up a hit and he struck out eight.

Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning giving up a hit and struck out two earning his fourth save of the 

season.  


Eli Morgan started for the Guardians and he pitched three innings giving up a hit and two runs with 

two walks and five strikeouts.  Morgan lost his first game of the season.  Logan Allen pitched an inning

giving up two hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts, Tanner Tully pitched two innings giving up 

two hits and a run with a walk and Konnor Pilkington pitched two innings giving up two hits and he 

struck out two.

Amed Rosario had two hits, Bryan Lavastida had a hit and Andres Gimenez had a hit.  Kwan and 

Naylor each hit a double and Reyes hit a homerun.  The Guardians were 0-8 with runners in scoring

position and left seven men on base.  


In the bottom of the third Judge hit a two-run homerun giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth 

Reyes hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Kiner-Falefa hit an 

RBI single extending the Yankees lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the fifth Judge hit a solo homerun

making it a 4-1 game and that would be the final score.  The two teams will play game two of three on 

Saturday afternoon.
