The New York Mets defeated the
Washington Nationals on Friday night.
The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final
score was 4-2. Noah Syndergaard started
for the Mets and he pitched well.
Brandon Nimmo had three hits and Amed Rosario had two to lead the
offense.
Syndergaard won his fifth game of
the season pitching five innings and giving up seven hits and a run. He walked two and struck out three. Seth Lugo pitched two innings walking two and
striking out three and Robert Gsellman saved his fourth game of the season
pitching two innings and giving up a hit and a run.
Tanner Roark lost his 12th
game of the season pitching five innings giving up eight hits and four
runs. He walked two and struck out
five. Justin Miller pitched an inning
giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, Matt Grace pitched an inning
giving up a hit and striking out two and Shawn Kelley pitched an inning giving
up a hit and striking out two.
Nimmo had three hits, Asdrubal
Cabrera had a hit and drew two walks and Jose Bautista had a hit and an
RBI. Michael Conforto had a hit and drew
a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and an RBI and Devin Mesoraco had a hit and an
RBI. Rosario had two hits and Syndergaard had a hit
and an RBI. Rosario hti a double and a
triple and the Mets were 3-12 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men
on base. Rosario had a stolen base.
Adam Eaton had two hits, Juan Soto
had a hit and Anthony Rendon had a hit.
Bryce Harper had a hit, Matt Adams had a hit, an RBI and drew two
walks. Daniel Murphy drew two walks, Roark
had a hit and Wilmer Difo had a hit and an RBI.
Difo hit a double and Roark hit a triple. Adams hit a homerun and the Nationals were 1-12
with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. Eaton had a stolen base.
In the first Bautista hit an RBI
single and Flores hit a sac fly to give the Mets a 2-0 lead. Mesoraco hit an RBI single to push the lead
to 3-0. In the second Syndergaard hit an
RBI single to extend the lead to 4-0. In
the third Difo hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 4-1 and in the eighth Adams
hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-2 which would be the final score.
