Alexander the Great

Alex Rodriguez made his return tonight and it was triumpant. The Yankees broke their 5 game losing streak and on the first pitch that he saw of the season he drove a 3 run homerun over the left field wall. The other stories of the game were CC Sabathia and his batterymate Francisco Cervelli. CC Sabathia pitched a complete game shutout, walking 1 and striking out 8 with 4 hits allowed. Cervelli made his first career start and called a great game, threw out a runner at second, had his first major e league hit and a walk and sac bunt. CC Sabathia got real emotional at the end pumping his fist and screaming which is good to see. Alex Rodriguez in that one swing had more homeruns then his replacements had in 28 games, he also had 3 rbis when they had 10 in 28 games and 3 of them were on a ball lost in the sun so really they had 7 combined rbi's. He also was flawless in the field and seemed to bring life to the team. I hope he stays clean and just concentrates on baseball and the Yankees winning. They showed the stat on YES tonight and with Arod the Yankees are about a 600 winning percentage and without him they are at 465 which says a lot. The Yankees need Arod to win and of course if CC and the rest of them pitch this way they will win most games. I only hope this is the start of the turnaround.
