The New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox today by the score of 8-3. I was on my way to Scranton so only saw the first 3 innings. Joba Chamberlain pitched 3 innings on only 34 pitches but was pulled due to the new Joba rules. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. Alfredo Aceves pitched 3 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits and got the win moving to 9-1 on the season. Damaso Marte faced 1 batter getting him out and Dave Robertson pitched 1 /3 of an inning giving up a couple of hits. Phil Hughes bailed him out of the jam and then pitched a hitless eighth inning. Phil Coke finished the game off giving up a solo homerun.
Derek Jeter had another couple of hits and Mark Teixeira had 4 rbi's. Johnny Damon tied his career high for homeruns by hitting a 2 run shot. A-rod had a hit and 2 walks. Jorge Posada had 2 hits and a rbi. Melky Cabrera and Robinson Cano each had a hit and Melky had a rbi. The Yankees now move on to Baltimore for a 3 game series starting tomorrow night with Andy Pettitte on the mound.
