The New York Yankees are swept by the Baltimore Orioles

The New York Yankees lost to the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night. The final score was 4-2 and the game took place at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. Hiroki Kuroda started for the Yankees and pitched ok, the pen wasn’t bad. The Yankees offense didn’t do much. Robinson Cano had a couple of hits including a homerun.

Kuroda pitched six innings giving up four runs and seven hits with seven strikeouts. Kuroda lost his sixth game of the season, Boone Logan pitched an inning striking out one and Shawn Kelley pitched an inning giving up a hit and struck out a batter.

Brett Gardner had an RBI and drew a walk, Cano had two hits and an RBI and Travis Hafner had a hit. Zoilo Almonte had a hit, Lyle Overbay had a hit and Jayson Nix drew a walk. Chris Stewart had a hit, David Adams drew two walks. Overbay hit a double and Cano hit a homerun. The Yankees were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.

Chris Tillman won his 10th game of the season. He pitched six innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks and six strikeouts. Darren O’Day pitched an inning giving up two walks, Troy Patton faced one batter and got him out and Tommy Hunter pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout. Jim Johnson saved his 28th game of the season pitching an inning giving up a hit, hitting a batter and striking out two.

Nate McClouth had a hit and an RBI, Manny Machado had three hits and an RBI and Chris Davis had a hit and an RBI. Matt Wieters had a hit, J.J. Hardy had a hit and Brian Roberts had a hit and an RBI. Machado and Hardy each hit a double and Machado, Davis and McClouth each hit a homerun. The Orioles were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. McClouth had an outfield assist.
