The New York Mets were defeated by
the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night.
The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final
score was 3-0. Noah Syndergaard started
for the Mets and he pitched well. The
Mets offense couldn't get much of anything going against Madison
Bumgarner.
Syndergaard pitched seven shutout
innings giving up two hits and three
walks with ten strikeouts. Addison Reed
pitched an inning giving up a hit and he walked two with a strikeout and Jeurys
Familia pitched an inning giving up two hits and three runs with a walk and a
strikeout. Familia took the loss in the
game.
Madison Bumgarner pitched a
complete game shutout giving up four hits and two walks. He struck out six and earned the win.
Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and drew
a walk, TJ Rivera had a hit and Rene Rivera had a hit. James Loney drew a walk, Ty Kelly had a hit
and TJ Rivera hit a double. The Mets
were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. Rene Rivera had a passed ball.
Denard Span had a hit and drew a
walk, Brandon Belt drew two walks and Buster Posey drew a walk. Brandon Crawford had a hit and drew a walk,
Angel Pagan had a hit and Joe Panik drew a walk. Conor Gillaspie had two hits and three RBI,
Crawford hit a double and Gillaspie hit a homerun. The Giants were 1-6 with runners in scoring
position and left seven men on base.
Span had a stolen base and was caught stealing.
In the ninth Gillaspie hit a three
run homerun to give the Giants a 3-0 lead and that would be the final score of
the game.
