The New York Yankees were defeated
by the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. The
game took place at Disney Wide World Of Sports in Orlando, Florida and the
final score was 3-1. Sonny Gray started
for the Yankees and pitched well. Gary
Sanchez had two hits to lead the Yankees offense which didn’t do that much.
Gray pitched 3 2/3 innings giving
up a hit and two walks with three strikeouts.
Tommy Khanle pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a
walk and a strikeout, Chasen Shreve pitched a perfect inning with two
strikeouts and David Hale pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up five hits and two
runs with one of them being earned and he walked one and struck out two and
took the loss. Jonathan Holder pitched a
perfect inning with a couple of strikeouts.
Aaron Hicks had a hit and drew a
walk, Sanchez had two hits and an RBI and Gleyber Torres drew a walk. Jace Peterson drew a walk, Billy McKinney
drew a walk and Jake Cave drew a walk.
Sanchez hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-5 with runners in scoring
position and left seven men on base.
McKinney committed two errors.
In the fifth Preston Tucker hit an
RBI double to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.
In the sixth Sanchez hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one. In the seventh Carlos Franco hit a two-run
double to give the Braves a 3-1 lead which would be the final score.
