Jorge Posada will have today off and then be back tomorrow as long as he played catch today fine. They finally came up with a contraption to help the finger. Brett Gardner hit off a tee the last 2 days and will rest today before resuming tomorrow. He still expects to start a rehab assignment next week and be back shortly after. Jerry Hairston Jr. is the emergency catcher for now, the rosters expand on Tuesday and the Yankees will have Francisco Cervelli back then as well as Ramiro Pena and some pitchers to caddy for Joba as they treat him like it is spring training and then get him built up by the end so he is ready for the playoffs.
The Yankees 11th walkoff win yesterday was the most since 1978 when they had 12.
Derek Jeter hit his 22nd career leadoff homerun last night putting him 2nd on the all time Yankees list behind Rickey Henderson who has 24.
Phil Hughes finally got into a game last night and struck out the sides, he has a 1.23 era as a reliever and has struck out 48 in 36 1/3 innings.
Johnny Damon is one homerun shy of his career high which was 24 in 2006, I think the Yankees are going to bring him back.
