Cory Wade made it a little harder for the Yankees to come back and Freddy Garcia pitched an inning. Hutchison made the Yankees look bad as he picked up the win for Toronto.
Hughes pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and two runs with two walks and five strikeouts. Wade pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with a strikeout and Garcia pitched a perfect inning. Hughes picked up his fifth loss of the season. The Blue Jays were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. Arencebia committed an error.

Cano had an RBI double in the first inning to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead. That would be the only run the Yankees scored in the game. In the third they had first and second two outs but didn’t do anything. In the third Bautista hit a two run homerun to give the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead. In the fourth the Yankees had first and second no outs but then hit into a double play and had a strike out to end the inning. In the fifth the Yankees had first and second one out and then lined out and popped out to end the inning. Arencibia hit a two run homerun in the seventh inning to give the Jays a 4-1 lead and that would be the final score. In the eighth and ninth the Yankees went down easily without a fight.

The Yankees have now lost three straight games and were swept in this brief two game series in Toronto. The Yankees record is now 20-18 and the Jays improved their record to 21-18. The Yankees return home for a three game interleague series with the Cincinatti Reds.
