The New York Yankees defeated the
Baltimore Orioles on Monday afternoon.
The game took place at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida and the
final score was 4-1. Chad Green started
for the Yankees and continued the trend by pitching two scoreless innings. Greg Bird hit two doubles and Aaron Judge had
a hit and an RBI. Thairo Estrada hit a
three run homerun.
Green pitched two innings giving up
a hit and a walk, Evan Rutckyj pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with
a walk and Giovanny Gallegos pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck
out two. Matt Marsh pitched two innings
giving up two hits and he struck out two, Joe Mantiply pitched a perfect inning
and Kyle Haynes pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and he earned the
save.
Ji-Man Choi drew a walk, Austin
Romine had a hit and Bird had two hits.
Judge had a hit and an RBI, Clint Frazier had a hit and Kellin Deglan
had a hit. Estrada had a hit and three
RBI. Dustin Fowler had a hit and drew a
walk and Bird hit two doubles and Frazier also hit a double. Judge hit a triple and Estrada hit a homerun. The Yankees were 2-9 with runners in scoring
position and left five men on base.
Fowler had a stolen base and Judge had an outfield assist.
In the first Judge reached on a
fielder’s choice and a run scored to make it 1-0. In the third Jonathan Schoop hit a solo
homerun to tie the game at one. In the
ninth Estrada hit a three run homerun to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead and that
would be the final score.
