The New York Mets were defeated by
the Houston Astros on Monday afternoon.
The game took place at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie, Florida and
the final score was 5-2. P.J. Conlon started
for the Mets and pitched well, Rafael Montero also pitched well and Jeurys
Familia struggled in his one inning of work.
The Mets offense only managed four hits.
Conlon pitched two innings giving
up a hit and no runs with a walk.
Familia pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run, Montero pitched
two innings striking out four and Hansel Robles pitched two perfect innings
with a couple of strikeouts. Josh Edgin
pitched an inning with two walks and Tom Gorzelanny pitched an inning giving up
four hits and four runs with three walks and a strikeout.
Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and an RBI, Yoenis
Cespedes had a hit and David Wright had a hit.
Jay Bruce drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and an RBI and Cabrera hit a homerun and so did Flores. The Mets were 0-1
with runners in scoring position and left two men on base. Taijeron and Stuart each had an outfield assist
