New York Yankees jump all over the Baltimore Orioles


The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 13-5.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and he pitched well and the offense was led by Aaron Judge hitting two homeruns and six RBI. 

Tanaka pitched seven innings giving up eight hits and two runs with two walks and eight strikeouts.  Tanaka won his 12th game of the season.  Bryan Mitchell pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs and Giovanny Gallegos pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts. 

Wade Miley lost his 13th game of the season pitching 1/3 of an inning and giving up six hits and six runs with no walks and no strikeouts.  Mike Wright pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up three hits and three runs with two walks and four strikeouts, Richard Rodriguez pitched an inning giving up four hits and four runs with two walks and Jimmy Yacobonis pitched two innings giving up two walks and he had two strikeouts.  Donnie Hart pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit and drew three walks, Judge had three hits and six RBI and Gary Sanchez had two hits and two RBI.  Matt Holliday had a hit and an RBI, Erik Kratz had a hit and Chase Headley had a hit and an RBI.  Didi Gregorius had a hit, Todd Frazier had two hits, three RBI and two walks, Clint Frazier had two hits and drew a walk and Sanchez, T. Frazier and C. Frazier each hit a double.  T. Frazier hit a homerun and Judge hit two homeruns and Sanchez hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 5-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  T. Frazier committed an error. 

Tim Beckham had a hit and drew a walk, Chance Sisco had two hits and an RBI and Jonathan Schoop had a hit and an RBI.  Adam Jones had a hit, Trey Mancini had two hits and an RBI, Chris Davis had a hit and Mark Trumbo had a hit.  Joey Rickard had a hit and an RBI, Seth Smith had a hit and drew a walk and Caleb Joseph had a hit and an RBI.  Sisco, Rickard and Joseph each hit a double and Schoop, Mancini and Sisco each hit a homerun.  The Orioles were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Davis and Hays each committed an error. 

In the first Sanchez hit an RBI double, Holliday hit an RBI ground out, Headley hit an RBI single and T. Frazier hit a three-run homerun to make it 6-0 Yankees.  In the fourth Schoop hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Judge hit a three-run homerun to extend the lead to 9-1.  Mancini hit a solo homerun in the sixth to cut the lead to 9-2.  In the sixth Judge hit a three-run homerun followed by a Sanchez solo homerun to make it 13-2 Yankees.  In the eighth Rickard hit an RBI double and Joseph hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 13-4.  In the ninth Sisco hit a solo homerun to make it 13-5 which would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of four on Friday night.
