New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets defeated by the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. and the final score was 6-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Amed Rosario had two hits and Wilson Ramos hit a grand slam to lead the Mets offense. 

Syndergaard pitched eight innings giving up four hits and two runs.  He walked one and struck out six and won his third game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out three. 

Jeremy Hellickson pitched five innings giving up six hits and five runs with four walks and three strikeouts.  He lost his second game of the season.  Matt Grace pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out a batter, Erick Fedde pitched two perfect innings with a strikeout and Joe Ross pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk. 

Jeff McNeil drew two walks,Rosario had two hits and drew a walk and Pete Alonso had a hit.  Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk, Ramos had a hit, four RBI and drew a walk and Brandon Nimmo had a hit and an RBI.  Todd Frazier had a hitDom Smith had a hit and an RBI and Nimmo hit a double.  Ramos and Smith each hit a homerun and the Mets were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

Victor Robles had a hit and two RBI, Anthony Rendon had two hits and drew a walk and Wilmer Difo had a hit.  Adrian Sanchez had a hit, Rendon hit a double and Robles hit a homerun.  The Nationals were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

In the first Ramos hit a grand slam to give the Mets a 4-0 lead.  In the sixth Nimmo hit an RBI double to push their lead to 5-0.  In the bottom of the sixth Robles hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 5-2.  In the ninth Smith hit a solo homerun and the lead was 6-2 which was the final score of the game.
