New York Mets get shutout in Game Two of Doubleheader to Miami

The New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins in Game two of their doubleheader on Tuesday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-0.  Seth Lugo made the start for the Mets and pitched great.  The bullpen did not do so well and the offense managed four hits. 

Lugo pitched three perfect innings with five strikeouts.  Jared Huges took his first loss of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning and giving up two hits and two runs with a walk, Chasen Shreve pitched 1 1/3 innings with a strikeout and Jeurys Familia pitched an inning giving up a run and a walk. 

Trevor Rogers pitched four innings giving up a hit and five walks with six strikeouts.  Josh A. Smith pitched two innings giving up three hits and he struck out one and won his first game of the season and Nick Vincent pitched an inning and earned his second save of the season. 

J.D. Davis had a hit and drew a walk, Dom Smith had a hit and drew two walks and Jeff McNeil drew a walk.  Amed Rosario had a hit, Robinson Cano had a hit and Luis Guillorme drew a walk.  The Mets were 0-5 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

Jon Berti drew two walks, Corey Dickerson had a hit and Brian Anderson had a hit and two RBI.  Anderson hit a double and the Marlins were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base.  Berti had three stolen bases. 

In the fourth Anderson hit a two-run double to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead.  In the sixth Berti stole home to make it 3-0 and that would be the final score.
