Yankees in Oakland for Memorial Day

The New York Yankees start a three game series in Oakland this afternoon which is Memorial Day.  They played a day game in Seattle yesterday and are playing another day game today in Oakland.  Here are the pitching matchups for the series and the Yankees lineup for today.

A.J. Burnett vs. Gio Gonzalez-Wednesday afternoon

Yankees Lineup:Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson, Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, Robinson Cano, Russell Martin, Jorge Posada, Nick Swisher, Brett Gardner.

Pitching Matchups for Boston Series

Friday-Phil Hughes vs Josh Beckett Saturday-CC Sabathia vs Clay Bucholz Sunday-A.J. Burnett vs TBA The Yankees won two out of three to open the season in Boston and now are there again. The two rivals wont meet after this for a couple of months. The Yankees will have played six games in Boston before the Red Sox come to the Bronx. The Yankees are dealing with some minor injuries but it looks like Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada will be ready to go for the Red Sox.

Pitching Matchups for Orioles Series

Tomorrow-Phil Hughes vs Kevin Millwood Wednesday-CC Sabathia vs Jeremy Guthrie Thursday-A.J. Burnett vs TBD Phil Hughes is off to a good start, Millwood is a good pitcher. Sabathia vs Guthrie is a mismatch in favor of the Yankees and A.J. Burnett vs probably a rookie seems to be a mismatch. I would be suprised if the Yankees didn't at least win 2 out of 3 in this series.

Yankees/Oakland Pitching matchups

Tonight- Vin Mazzaro vs CC Sabathia Tomorrow- Brett Anderson vs Joba Chamberlain Saturday-Gio Gonzalez vs Andy Pettitte Sunday- Dallas Braden vs Sergio Mitre Tonight is the only game the Yankees will see a righty in this series, which is intersting. I would look for Eric Hinske to play right field tonight. The Yankees will try and keep it going with their ace on the mound and lets see if Joba can make it two in a row tomorrow.
