Yanks sweep Tigers

Joba Chamberlain started and finally pitched a really good game going 6 2/3 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. Phil Coke came on and threw one pitch and got a pop up to short. Phil Hughes pitched the 8th giving up a single but thats it, he also had 2 more strikeouts and Mo closed out the game. The Yankees won their second consecutive game 2-1. The offense was led by A-rod who had a couple of hits, one being a solo homerun and Mark Teixeira who also had a solo blast and another hit. Jorge Posada had a hit and that was it for the Yankees offense as Edwin Jackson was the hard luck loser in this one. Joba Chamberlain was throwing 95+ pretty much the whole game and finally had his devastating slider, lets hope this can continue and he can start getting his act together. The Yankees are now 1 game out of first behind the Red Sox who lost 2 in a row to the Blue Jays. The Yankees begin a 3 game series tomorrow with the Baltimore Orioles at the stadium.
