Yanks winning streak ends at 8

The New York Yankees lost to the Oakland A's today by the score of 6-4 ending their 8 game winning streak. Andy Pettitte got the start and was great through 6 innings, he ran into trouble in the 7th when he left with the bases loaded and the score tied at 1. Alfredo Aceves came in and got a popup and then had a 0-2 count but gave up a 2 run single and then proceeded to give up 3 more runs after that. The Yankees offense was nonexistent other then a Brett Gardner rbi triple until the 8th inning when Derek Jeter hit a 2 run homerun and Big Tex added a solo homerun. The Yankees had 1st and 2nd with no outs in the ninth but Jorge Posada grounded into a double play and Derek Jeter flew out to end the game. The Yankees will try and start a new winning streak tomorrow with Sergio Mitre on the mound, they also want to win this series before heading out on the road to face Tampa for 3, Chicago for 3 and Toronto for 2 and then coming home for 4 HUGE games against the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees after tomorrows game have a rough stretch and we will see how they react to that. Derek Jeter tied Bernie Williams for 5th on the alltime Yankees list in games played, next up is Babe Ruth who he will pass in 9 more games.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know so much
about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few
pics to drive the message home a little bit,
but instead of that, this is great blog. A fantastic read.
    I will certainly be back.
