The New York Yankees run their win streak to four as they defeat the Baltimore Orioles

The New York Yankees defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 5-2 on Friday night. The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York. CC Sabathia started and pitched well for the Yankees, Mariano Rivera earned the save. The Yankees benefited from a triple play and a three base error from Adam Jones. 
CC Sabathia pitched eight innings giving up two runs on eight hits and only one run was earned. He walked none and struck out nine. Sabathia picked up his second win of the season and Rivera picked up his second save of the season. Rivera pitched a scoreless inning giving up a hit.

Brett Gardner drew two walks, Robinson Cano had two hits and an RBI and Kevin Youkilis had three hits an RBI and drew a walk. Travis Hafner drew a walk, Lyle Overbay had a hit and Francisco Cervelli drew two walks. The Yankees were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. Youkilis committed an error.

Miguel Gonzalez took the loss his first of the season pitching six innings giving up five hits and three runs with two of them earned. He walked five and struck out four. Troy Patton pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two unearned runs with a walk, Pedro Strop pitched to one batter and got him out and Tommy Hunter pitched an inning giving up a hit and striking out one.

Nick Markakis had a hit, Manny Machado had two hits and an RBI and Chris Davis had two hits. J.J. Hardy had a hit and an RBI, Nick Reimold had a hit and Alexi Casilla had two hits. Casilla hit a double and the Orioles were 2-7 with runners in scoring position. They left four men on base, Jones committed an error and Reimold had an outfield assist.

In the third Machado hit an RBI single to give the Orioles the 1-0 lead. The Yankees tied the game at one in the bottom of the third on Youkilis RBI single. Cano hit an RBI single in the fifth to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead. In the seventh Hardy hit an RBI single to tie the game at two. Wells hit a drive to center field in the seventh which Jones committed an error on and three runs scored to give the Yankees a 5-2 lead. The Yankees would hold on and that would be the final score.

The Yankees have now won four games in a row and their record is 5-4. The Orioles are 5-5 and the two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon at 4:00PM.
