The New York Mets defeat the Detroit Tigers 3-2

The New York Mets defeated the Detroit Tigers on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place in

Lakeland, Florida and the final score was 3-2 Mets.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets.  He has

been the sensation of camp but he struggled in this one.  Juan Lagares led the offense with a couple

of hits. 

Syndergaard pitched three innings giving up two hits and two runs.  He walked three and struck out three.  Jacob deGrom pitched two innings giving up a hit and walking a batter, Adam Kolarek pitched an inning giving up a hit.  Joel Carreno pitched an inning and walked a batter, Jeff Walters got the win pitching an inning and giving up a hit and Gonzalez Germen picked up the save pitching an inning and striking out a batter. 

Eric Young Jr. had a hit, Lagares had two hits and Brandon Nimmo drew a walk.  Kirk Nieuwenhuis drew a walk, Cesar Puello had a hit and Josh Satin had a hit.  Andrew Brown had a hit, Matt den Dekker drew a walk and Dustin Lawley drew a walk.  Taylor Teagarden had a hit, Juan Centeno had a hit and Matt Clark had a hit and two RBI. 

Clark hit a double and the Mets were 2-13 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Lagares had a stolen base and den Dekker was caught stealing.  The Mets will play at home on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Braves.
