New York Mets fall to the Atlanta Braves


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 9-5.  Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Amed Rosario, Wilson Ramos, Juan Lagares and Jeff McNeil all led the offense with two hits each. 

Wheeler pitched six innings giving up five hits and five runs with four of them being earned.  He walked four and struck out three.  Luis Avilan pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout, Brad Brach pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs with a strikeout and lost his fourth game of the season.  Edwin Diaz pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and a strikeout and Chris Flexen pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit. 

Max Fried pitched five innings giving up seven hits and five runs with five strikeouts.  Josh Tomlin pitched two innings giving up two hits and he struck out one and won his second game of the season.  Chris Martin pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and Shane Greene pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Rosario had two hits and an RBI, Joe Panik had a hit and an RBI and Pete Alonso had a hit and three RBI.  Michael Conforto had a hit, Ramos had two hits and Lagares had two hits.  McNeil had two hits, Lagares hit two doubles and McNeil hit a double.  Alonso hit a homerun and the Mets were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Rosario was caught stealing and committed an error.  Frazier committed an error and Davis had an outfield assist. 

Ronald Acuna Jr. had a hit and an RBI, Ozzie Albies had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Freddie Freeman had a hit and an RBI.  Josh Donaldson had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Matt Joyce drew two walks and Charlie Culberson drew a walk.  Adeiny Hechavarria drew a walk, Francisco Cervelli had three hits and three RBI and Rafael Ortega had two hits and an RBI.  Billy Hamilton had a hit, Cervelli hit two doubles and Albies, Donaldson and Freeman each hit a homerun.  The Braves were 3-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. 

In the second Cervelli hit a two-run double to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.  In the third Albies hit a solo homerun and Donaldson hit a solo homerun to push the Braves lead to 4-0.  In the bottom of the third Panick hit into an RBI ground out and the Mets cut the lead to 4-1.  In the fifth Rosario hit an RBI single and Alonso hit a three-run homerun giving the Mets a 5-4 lead.  In the sixth Ortega hit an RBI single to tie the game at five.  In the eighth Acuna hit a two-run single to give the Braves a 7-5 lead and in the ninth Freeman hit a solo homerun and Cervelli hit an RBI double to make it 9-5 and that would be the final score. 

The Mets have lost the first two games of the three-game series and will try to salvage the final game on Sunday afternoon.

New York Mets were defeated in Atlanta


The New York Mets were defeated by the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night.  The game took place at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia and the final score was 5-3.  Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Juan Lagares led the offense with four hits. 

Wheeler pitched five innings giving up 12 hits and five runs with two walks and two strikeouts.  Wheeler lost his seventh game of the season.  Brad Brach pitched a perfect inning, Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Jeurys Familia pitched to one batter and struck him out.  Drew Gagnon pitched a perfect inning. 

Max Fried pitched six innings giving up six hits and a run with three walks and four strikeouts.  Fried won his 14th game of the season.  Luke Jackson pitched an inning with two strikeouts, Shane Greene pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and got him out.  Anthony Swarzak pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and Mark Melancon pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and earned his second save of the season. 

Jeff McNeil had a hit and an RBI, Pete Alonso had a hit and drew a walk and J.D. Davis had a hit and drew a walk.  Wilson Ramos had a hit and drew a walk, Michael Conforto had an RBI and Todd Frazier had two hits.  Lagares had four hits and an RBI, Lagares hit a double and Frazier hit a double.  The Mets were 3-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. 

Ronald Acuna Jr. had two hits and an RBI, Ozzie Albies had a hit and Freddie Freeman had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Josh Donaldson had three hits and an RBI, Brian McCann had a hit and Matt Joyce had two hits and an RBI.  Ender Inciarte had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Fried had a hit and Fried and Inciarte each hit a double.  Acuna Jr. hit a homerun and the Braves were 4-14 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Acuna Jr. had an outfield assist. 
In the first Donaldson hit an RBI single, Joyce hit an RBI single to give the Braves a 2-0 lead.  In the second McNeil hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the second Freeman hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-1.  In the fourth Acuna hit a solo homerun to extend the lead to 4-1.  In the fifth Inciarte hit an RBI double and the lead was 5-1.  In the eighth Conforto hit into an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 5-2 and Lagares hit an RBI single to make it a 5-3 game and that would be the final score.

New York Mets lose a close one to the St. Louis Cardinals


The New York Mets were defeated by the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 4-3.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he pitched ok[GM1] .  Dom Smith and Juan Lagares each had two hits to lead the Mets offense. 

Vargas pitched four innings giving up a hit and three runs with two being earned.  He walked three and struck out four.  Wilmer Font pitched three innings giving up a walk and he struck out three, Chris Flexen pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts and he lost his third game of the season.  Brooks Pounders pitched an inning giving up a hit. 

Dakota Hudson pitched six innings giving up eight hits and three runs with three walks and three strikeouts.  Andrew Miller pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Carlos Martinez earned his second save of the season pitching two innings and giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Smith had two hits and drew a walk, J.D. Davis had a hit and an RBI and Michael Conforto had a hit.  Pete Alonso had a hit, Robinson Cano had a hit and drew a walk and Adeiny Hechavarria had a hit and an RBI.  Lagares had two hits and an RBI, Todd Frazier had a hit and Jacob deGrom drew a walk.  Smith and Cano each hit a double and the Mets were 3-8 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Lagares had a stolen base and Hechavarria committed two errors. 

Paul DeJong had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Paul Goldschmidt had a hit, two RBI and drew two walks and Jose Martinez drew a walk.  Yadier Molina had a hit, Goldschmidt and DeJong each hit a homerun and the Cardinals were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Fowler had an outfield assist. 

In the first Goldschmidt hit a two-run homerun to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Davis hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the third Hechavarria hit an RBI single to tie the game at two, Lagares hit an RBI single to make it 3-2 Mets.  In the fourth Molina hit into a double play but the score was tied at three.  In the eighth DeJong hit a solo homerun giving the Cardinals a 4-3 lead and that would be the final score.  The Cardinals won three of four in the series.  The Mets will now head to Atlanta to take on the Braves on Monday night.

New York Mets are defeated by the Miami Marlins in a slug fest


The New York Mets were defeated by the Miami Marlins on Friday night.  The game took place at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida and the final score was 8-6.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.   Brandon Nimmo, Pete Alonso, Wilson Ramos, Todd Frazier and Juan Lagares each had two hits to lead the offense. 

deGrom lost his fifth game of the season.  He pitched five innings giving up nine hits and seven runs with six of them being earned.  He walked none and struck out three.  Paul Sewald pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with three strikeouts and Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Trevor Richards pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs.  He walked three and struck out three and lost his fifth game of the season.   Adam Conley pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk, Nick Anderson pitched giving up three hits and three runs with a  walk and he didn’t record an out and Sergio Romo saved his seventh game of the season pitching two innings and giving up two hits and no runs with two strikeouts. 

Nimmo had two hits and an RBI, Amed Rosario drew a walk and Robinson Cano had a hit.  Alonso had two hits and two RBI, Ramos had two hits and drew a walk and Dom Smith drew a walk.  Frazier had two hits and drew a walk, Lagares had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and J.D. Davis had a hit and two RBI.  Ramos and Cano each hit a double and Frazier hit a triple.  Alonso hit two homeruns and Davis hit a homerun.  The Mets were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Frazier and deGrom each committed an error. 

Jon Berti had a hit, Garrett Cooper had two hits and two RBI and Brian Anderson had two hits and an RBI.  Starlin Castro had a hit and an RBI, Jorge Alfaro had two hits and three RBI and Harold Ramirez had a hit.  Miguel Rojas had a hit and an RBI, Castro hit a double and Anderson hit two doubles.  Alfaro hit a homerun and the Marlins were 5-11 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Rojas and Berti each had a stolen base. 

In the second Alonso hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Cooper hit a two-run single giving the Marlins a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Alfaro hit an RBI single, Rojas hit an RBI single and it was 4-1 Marlins.  In the fifth Anderson hit an RBI double and Alfaro hit a two-run homerun to push their lead to 7-1.  In the seventh Davis hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 7-3.  In the bottom of the seventh Castro hit a sac fly making it a 8-3 game.  In the eighth Alonso hit a solo homerun and Lagares hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 8-5.  Nimmo hit a sac fly and it was 8-6 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday.

New York Mets defeat the Philadelphia Phillies


The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-1.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and pitched well, the bullpen did their job.  Jeff McNeil and Juan Lagares each had two hits to lead the Mets offense. 

Matz won his second game of the season pitching six innings and giving up three hits and a run.  He walked two and struck out six.  Seth Lugo pitched an inning with a strikeout, Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and Edwin Diaz pitched an inning with two strikeouts. 

Jake Arrieta lost his second game of the season pitching six innings and giving up seven hits and four runs with three being earned.  He walked one and struck out seven.  Jose Alvarez pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up an unearned run, Juan Nicasio pitched 2/3 of an inning with a walk and Edubray Ramos pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one. 

Brandon Nimmo had a hit, McNeil had two hits and an RBI and Pete Alonso had a hit and two RBI.  Michael Conforto had an RBI and drew a walk, Wilson Ramos had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Todd Frazier had a hit.  Lagares had two hits, Dom Smith had a hit and Alonso hit a double.  McNeil hit a homerun and the Mets were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Frazier and Nimmo each had a stolen base and Lagares was caught stealing. 

Rhys Hoskins had a hit and an RBI, Maikel Franco drew a walk and Cesar Hernandez had two hits.  Aaron Altherr drew a walk, Hernandez hit a double and Hoskins hit a homerun.  The Phillies were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Hernandez, Altherr and Realmuto each committed an error. 

In the third Alonso hit an RBI double and Ramos hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.  In the fourth Hoskins hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the fifth McNeil hit a solo homerun to push the Mets lead to 3-1.  In the seventh a hit by pitch and a sac fly by Conforto extended the Mets lead to 5-1 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.

New York Mets hold off the St. Louis Cardinals


The New York Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.  The game took place at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri and the final score was 5-4.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Robinson Cano led the offense with three hits and Pete Alonso, J.D. Davis and Juan Lagares each had two hits. 

Vargas pitched four innings giving up three hits and a run with three walks and three strikeouts.  Seth Lugo won his first game of the season pitching two innings giving up four hits and two runs and three strikeouts.  Jeurys Familia pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and an unearned run, Justin Wilson pitched giving up a hit and a walk and Robert Gsellman pitched 2/3 of an inning.  Edwin Diaz pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk and saved his seventh game of the season. 

Adam Wainwright pitched three innings giving up eight hits and four runs with three being earned.  He walked three and struck out three and lost his second game of the season.  Giovanny Gallegos pitched an inning with a walk and two strikeouts, Ryan Helsley pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Dominic Leone pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit.  Tyler Webb pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, John Brebbia pitched to one batter and got him out and John Gant pitched an inning with a strikeout. 

Alonso had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Cano had three hits and an RBI and Michael Conforto drew three walks.  Wilson Ramos had a hit and two RBI, Davis had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Amed Rosario had a hit.  Lagares had two hits, Cano hit two doubles and hit a double.  Alonso hit a homerun and the Mets were 3-14 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base.  Rosario and Davis each committed an error. 

Matt Carpenter had two hits, Paul Goldschmidt had a hit and PaulMarcell Ozuna drew a walk, Jose Martinez had three hits and an RBI and Jose Molina had a hit.  Dustin Fowler had two hits and drew two walks, Kolten Wong drew a walk and Lane Thomas had a hit and two RBI.  Carpenter, Molina and Fowler each hit a double and Thomas and Martinez each hit a homerun.  The Cardinals were 3-12 with runners in scoring position and left 11 m3n on base.  DeJong had a stolen base and Martinez and DeJong each committed an error. 

In the first Ramos hit an RBI single, Davis hit an RBI double and the Mets had a 2-0 lead.  In the second Cano hit an RBI single to push the Mets lead to 3-0.  In the fourth Ramos hit an RBI ground out to extend the Mets lead to 4-0.  In the bottom of the fourth Martinez hit a solo homerun and the lead was cut to 4-1.  In the sixth Alonso hit a solo homerun to make it a 5-1 game.  In the bottom of the sixth Thomas hit a two-run homerun after an umpire review and the lead was cut to 5-3.  In the eighth Fowler hit an RBI single to make it a 5-4 game.  That would be the final score of the game. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday.

New York Mets crush the Toronto Blue Jays


The New York Mets defeated the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 12-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched well, the bullpen was great.  Juan Lagares had four hits and Amed Rosario had three to lead the offense. 

Syndergaard pitched five innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks and seven strikeouts.  Syndergaard won his third game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched three innings giving up a hit and he struck out four and Jacob Rhame pitched an inning with a strikeout. 

Jaime Garcia pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up six hits and six runs with three walks and three strikeouts.  Garcia lost his third game of the season.  Jake Petricka pitched an inning giving up six hits and three runs and Deck McGuire pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts. 

Brandon Nimmo had a hit and an RBI, Lagares had four hits and three RBI and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and an RBI.  Luis Guillorme had a hit and an RBI, Wilmer Flores drew a walk and Jay Bruce had a hit.  Devin Mesoraco had two hits, two RBI and drew three walks, Jose Reyes had a hit and Syndergaard had a hit and two RBI.  Adrian Gonzalez had a hit, Rosario had three hits and two RBI and Syndergaard, Bruce, Rosario and Cabrera each hit a double.  Lagares hit a triple and Mesoraco hit a homerun.  The Mets were 8-14 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Lagares had a stolen base. 

Curtis Granderson had a hit, Josh Donaldson had a hit and Justin Smoak had a hit and drew a walk.  Teoscar Hernandez had a hit, McGuire had a hit and Yangervis Solarte had a hit and two RBI.  Russell Martin drew a walk, Donaldson hit a double and the Blue Jays were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Granderson had a stolen base and Pillar committed an error. 

In the second Syndergaard hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Solarte hit a two-run single to give the Jays a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Syndergaard hit a sac fly to tie the game at two, Rosario hit an RBI double, Lagares hit a two-run single and it was 5-2 Mets.  Cabrera hit an RBI double to push the lead to 6-2.  In the fifth Rosario hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 7-2.  Nimmo hit an RBI single, Lagares hit an RBI single and in the eighth Guillorme hit an RBI single making it 10-2.  Mesoraco hit a two-run homerun in the eighth to cap the scoring at 12-2. 

The two teams will play game two of two on Wednesday afternoon.

New York Mets defeat the San Diego Padres


The New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres on Friday night.  The game took place at Petco Park in San Diego, California and the final score was 5-1.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and pitched great.  Asdrubal Cabrera, Juan Lagares and Jose Lobaton all led the offense with two hits. 

deGrom pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up five hits and no runs with three walks and eight strikeouts.  deGrom won his third game of the season.  Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and got him out, AJ Ramos pitched to one batter and got him out and Matt Harvey pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk. 

Clayton Richard pitched 6 2/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Richard lost his third game of the season, Craig Stammen pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout, Kazuhisa Makita pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run and he struck out one and Jordan Lyles pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout. 

Cabrera had two hits, three RBI and drew a walk, Yoenis Cespedes had a hit and drew two walks and Todd Frazier had a hit and an RBI.  Michael Conforto drew a walk, Lagares had two hits and Lobaton had two hits and an RBI.  Amed Rosario had a hit, Cabrera and Lobaton each hit a double.  Cabrera hit a homerun and the Mets were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base. 

Wil Myers had a hit, Eric Hosmer drew a walk and Christian Villanueva had a hit.  Franchy Cordero had two hits and an RBI, Jose Pirela drew two walks and Freddy Galvis had two hits.  Austin Hedges drew a walk, Cordero hit a homerun and the Padres were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Cordero was caught stealing. 

In the first Frazier hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the seventh Cabrera hit a three-run homerun to push their lead to 4-0.  In the eighth Lobaton hit an RBI double to extend their lead to 5-0.  In the ninth Cordero hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 5-1. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday night.

The Mets drop one to the Philadelphia Phillies


The New York Mets were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night.  The game took place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the final score was 6-2.  Matt Harvey started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  Nori Aoki, Asdrubal Cabrera and Juan Lagares each had two hits to lead the offensive attack. 

Harvey lost his seventh game of the season pitching four innings and giving up seven hits and four runs.  He walked three and struck out three.  Hansel Robles pitched two innings giving up three hits and two runs, Kevin McGowan pitched a perfect inning and Jacob Rhame pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Ben Lively pitched six innings giving up six hits and two runs with a strikeout and he won his fourth game of the season.  Adam Morgan pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out two, Luis Garcia pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one and Edubray Ramos pitched an inning giving up two hits. 

Aoki had two hits, Jose Reyes had a hit and an RBI and Cabrera had two hits.  Travis d’Arnaud had a hit, Dominic Smith had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Lagares had two hits.  Phillip Evans had a hit, Reyes and Smith each hit a homerun and the Mets were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Cabrera committed an error and Lagares had an outfield assist. 

Cesar Hernandez had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Freddy Galvis had a hit and drew a walk and Nick Williams had two hits.  Rhys Hoskins had a hit, Odubel Herrera had two hits and an RBI and Maikel Franco had a hit and two RBI.  Jorge Alfaro had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk, Alfaro hit a double and Franco, Alfaro and Hernandez each hit a homerun.  The Phillies were 2-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. 

In the first Reyes hit a solo homerun giving the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the second Franco hit a two-run homerun to give the Phillies a 2-1 lead.  In the third Herrera hit a sac fly to extend the Phillies lead to 3-1.  A balk made the score 4-1.  In the fifth Smith hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 4-2.  In the sixth Alfaro hit a solo homerun and Hernandez hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 6-2 and that would be the final score.

The New York Mets lose a close one to the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets were defeated by the Washington Nationals on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Jose Reyes, Amed Rosario and Juan Lagares each had two hits. 

deGrom pitched six innings giving up five hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He walked none and struck out 11.  deGrom lost his 10th game of the season.  Hansel Robles pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out one and Paul Sewald pitched a perfect inning. 

Max Scherzer won his 16th game of the season pitching six innings and giving up three hits and a run with a walk and ten strikeouts.  Joe Blanton pitched an inning with a walk, Ryan Madson pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up three hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and Sammy Solis pitched to one batter and struck him out.  Brandon Kintzler pitched an inning giving up two hits and he saved his 29th game of the season. 

Nori Aoki had a hit, Reyes had two hits and an RBI and Brandon Nimmo had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Travis d’Arnaud drew a walk, Phillip Evans drew a walk and Rosario had two hits.  Lagares had two hits, Rosario hit a double and Nimmo hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Reyes had two stolen bases and d’Arnaud committed an error. 

Trea Turner had a hit and two RBI, Alejandro De Aza drew a walk and Daniel Murphy had a hit.  Michael Taylor had a hit, Jose Lobaton had two hits and an RBI and Murphy hit a triple.  Turner hit a homerun and the Nationals were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Taylor had a stolen base and Robles had an outfield assist. 

In the first Nimmo hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Turner hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 2-1 lead.  In the fifth Lobaton hit an RBI single to make it 3-1 Nationals.  In the eighth Reyes hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2 but that would be the final score.

New York Mets split a double header with the Washington Nationals


The New York Mets played a double header on Sunday and split it.  They lost the first game and won the second game.  The games were played at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. and the final scores were 5-4 and 6-5.  In the first game Seth Lugo started and pitched ok, he just didn’t last very long.  Jose Reyes had three hits and Juan Lagares and Brandon Nimmo each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Lugo pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs.  He walked none and struck out five.  Josh Smoker pitched 1 1/3 perfect innings, Hansel Robles pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with three walks and he took his fifth loss of the season and Chasen Bradford pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out one.  Erik Goeddel pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout. 

Tanner Roark started for the Nationals and he pitched six innings giving up five hits and three runs with nine strikeouts and picked up his 11th win.  Matt Albers pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one, Shawn Kelley pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Joe Blanton pitched to one batter and retired him.  Sean Doolittle saved his 16th game of the season and pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run. 

Reyes had three hits and an RBI, Lagares had two hits and an RBI and Nimmo had two hits and two RBI.  Travis d’Arnaud had a hit, Kevin Plawecki had a hit and Gavin Cecchini had a hit.  Matt Reynolds had a hit, Lagares hit a double and Niimmo hit a homerun and the Mets were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Reyes had a stolen base. 

Wilmer Difo had two hits, Daniel Murphy had a hit and Anthony Rendon had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Adam Lind had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Michael Taylor had an RBI and drew a walk and Andrew Stevenson had an RBI and drew a walk.  Lind hit a homerun and the Nationals were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Rendon had a stolen base. 

In the fourth Rendon hit an RBI single and Lind hit a sac fly to make it 2-0.  In the sixth Lagares hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 2-1.  Nimmo hit a two-run homerun and the Mets took a 3-2 lead.  In the bottom of the sixth Taylor had an RBI walk, Stevenson had an RBI walk and the Nationals took a 4-3 lead.  In the eighth Lind hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 5-3.  In the ninth Reyes hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 5-4 and that would be the final score. 

Tommy Milone started the second game and pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up six hits and a run walkine one and striking out five.  Hansel Robles pitched to two guys and struck them both out, Rafael Montero pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk, Josh Smoker pitched to one guy and walked him and Paul Sewald pitched an inning giving up three hits and two runs.  Jerry Blevins pitched to two guys and retired them both winning his sixth game of the season and AJ Ramos pitched two innings giving up three hits and a walk with two strikeouts and earning his 25th save of the season. 

Erick Fedde pitched six innings giving up seven hits and five runs with two walks and five strikeouts.  Kelley pitched a perfect inning, Blanton lost his third game of the season pitching 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and Sammy Solis pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk.  Albers pitched to one guy and retired him. 

Nimmo had a hit, Lagares had two hits and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit, three RBI and drew two walks.  Wilmer Flores had a hit and two RBI, Amed Rosario had two hits and an RBI and Matt Reynolds had two hits.  Jose Reyes drew a walk, Cabrera hit a homerun and Flores hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Lagares had a stolen base and d’Arnaud committed an error, Lagares had an outfield assist. 

Howie Kendrick had three hits and an RBI, Difo had a hit and an RBI and Ryan Zimmerman had a hit and drew a walk.  Matt Wieters had two hits, Taylor had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks and Alejandro De Aza had two hits and two RBI.  Rafael Bautista had two hits, Lind had a hit and Stevenson drew a walk.  Murphy had a hit, De Aza, Taylor and Murphy each hit a double.  De Aza hit a triple and the Nationals were 5-16 with runners in scoring position and they left 13 men on base.  Taylor had a stolen base. 

In the first Cabrera hit a three-run homerun to give them the lead.  In the third Flores hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 5-0.  In the bottom of the fifth Difo hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the sixth De Aza hit an RBI double, Kendrick hit a sac fly and it was 5-3.  In the seventh Taylor hit an RBI double and De Aza a sac fly to tie the game at five.  In the eighth Rosario hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 6-5 lead and that would be the final score.

New York Mets lose an offensive game to the Texas Rangers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas and the final score was 10-8.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and didn’t pitch well.  Juan Lagares had four hits and Asdrubal Cabrera and Wilmer Flores each had three hits to lead the offense. 

deGrom pitched four innings giving up ten hits and eight runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  deGrom lost his third game of the season.  Josh Smoker pitched two innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and three strikeouts, Neil Ramirez pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Josh Edgin pitched an inning giving up two hits and he walked one and struck out two. 

Dillon Gee started for the Rangers and he pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up eight hits and four runs.  He walked four and struck out two.  Austin Bibens-Dirkx pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits, Alex Claudio pitched three innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and two strikeouts and Matt Bush pitched an inning giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout. 

Michael Conforto had a hit and drew two walks, Cabrera had three hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Jay Bruce had a hit and an RBI.  Neil Walker had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Lucas Duda had two hits and an RBI and Flores had three hits.  Curtis Granderson had a hit, two RBI and drew two walks.  Travis d’Arnaud had a hit and an RBI, Lagares had four hits and an RBI and Conforto hit a double and Lagares, Cabrera, Walker, Granderson and d’Arnaud each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 2-15 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.  Lagares had a stolen base. 

Shin-Soo Choo had two hits, an RBI and drew two walks, Elvis Andrus had a hit and Nomar Mazara had four hits and two RBI.  Adrian Beltre had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Joey Gallo had a hit and two RBI and Jonathan Lucroy had a hit.  Roughned Odor had a hit, Jared Hoying had three hits and an RBI and Delino Deshields had two hits and an RBI.  Odor and Hoying each hit a double and Gallo and Mazara each hit a homerun.  The Rangers were 3-12 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Deshields had a stolen base. 

In the first Duda hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Beltre grounded into a force out to tie the game at one.  In the second Lagares hit a solo homerun giving the Mets a 2-1 lead.  In the bottom of the second Hoying hit an RBI ground out to tie the game at two.  DeShields hit a sac fly to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead.  In the third Cabrera hit a solo homerun to tie the game at three.  Walker hit a solo homerun giving the Mets a 4-3 lead.  In the bottom of the third Gallo hit a two-run homerun giving the Rangers the lead at 5-4.  Choo drew an RBI walk in the fourth to push the lead to 6-4, Andrus grounded into a double play and the score was 7-4 Rangers.  Mazara hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 8-4.  In the bottom of the sixth Choo hit an RBI ground out and it was 9-4 Rangers.  Mazara hit an RBI single to make it 10-4.  In the eighth Bruce hit an RBI ground out to cut the lead to 10-5 and in the ninth Granderson hit a two-run homerun making it 10-7 and d’Arnaud hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 10-8 but that was the final score. 

The two teams will finish their brief series on Wednesday night.

The New York Mets defeat the St. Louis Cardinals


The New York Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida and the final score was 5-4.  Robert Gsellman started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Kevin Plawecki had two hits to lead the offense. 

Gsellman pitched five innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and three strikeouts.  Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter giving up a walk and a run, Addison Reed pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Josh Edgin pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout.   Ben Rowen pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run and Corey Taylor pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and he picked up his fourth save of the spring. 

Juan Lagares had a hit and an RBI, Michael Conforto had a hit and Wilmer Flores had an RBI and drew a walk.  Gavin Cecchini had a hit, Luis Carpio had a hit and Plawecki had two hits and an RBI.  Xorge Carrillo had a hit and an RBI, Tim Tebow had a hit and Matt Reynolds had an RBI.  Andres Gimenez had a hit, Taijereon had a hit and Carpio and Carrillo each hit a double.  Conforto  hit a triple and Lagares and Plawecki each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 3-11 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Yoenis Cespedes and L.J. Mazzilli each committed an error and Plawecki had a passed ball. 

In the first Randal Grichuk hit an RBI single to give the Cardinals a 1-0 lead.  In the second Reynolds hit a sac fly to tie the game at one.  In the third Lagares hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 2-1 lead, Flores hit a sac fly to extend the lead to 3-1.  In the sixth Plawecki hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 4-1.  In the sixth Harrison Bader hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-2.  A wild pitch in the eighth made it 4-3 and Patrick Wisdom hit a sac fly to tie the game at four.  In the ninth Carrillo hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 5-4 lead and that was the final score.

New York Mets defeat the Miami Marlins


The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins on Monday afternoon.  The game took place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida and the final score was 8-2.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Phillip Evans and Luis Guillorme each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Matz pitched two innings giving up three hits and no runs with no walks and a strikeout.  Marcos Molina pitched a perfect inning, David Roseboom pitched an inning with two strikeouts and Erik Goeddel pitched an inning with a hit and he struck out one.  Rafael Montero pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts, Chasen Bradford pitched an inning giving up a walk and he got the win and Josh Smoker pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout.  Ben Rowen pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Juan Lagares had a hit, Champ Stuart had a hit and an RBI and Michael Conforto had a hit.  Travis Taijeron had a hit, Travis d’Arnaud had a hit and an RBI and Evans had two hits and an RBI.  Dominic Smith had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Amed Rosario had a hit and L.J. Mazzilli had a hit and two RBI.  Guillorme had two hits and drew a walk, Patrick Biondi drew a walk and Wuilmer Becerra had a hit and drew a walk.  Gene Cone had an RBI and drew two walks, Becerra, Taijeron and Evans each hit a double.  d’Arnaud and Mazzilli each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 5-16 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.  Lagares, Conforto and Becerra each had a stolen base.  Guillorme and Smith each committed an error. 

In the fourth d’Arnaud hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Giancarlo Stanton hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one.  In the eighth Evans hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.  Smith hit an RBI single to make it 3-1, Mazzilli hit a two-run homerun to push the lead to 5-1.  Stuart hit an RBI single still in the eighth to make it a 6-1 game.  A passed ball pushed the Mets lead to 7-1.  In the bottom of the eighth Moises Sierra hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 7-2 and in the ninth Cone drew an RBI walk to make it an 8-2 game which would be the final score.

New York Mets lose on a walk-off to the Los Angeles Dodgers



The New York Mets were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California and the final score was 3-2.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and pitched ok and Juan Lagares led the offense with a couple of hits. 

deGrom pitched seven innings giving up eight hits and two runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  Antonio Bastardo pitched an inning giving up a hit and he walked one and Hansel Robles pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run and he lost his second game of the season. 

Alex Wood started for the Dodgers and pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with one of them being earned.  He walked two and struck out nine.  Louis Coleman pitched to two batters and struck them both out, Pedro Baez pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Kenley Jansen pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and earned his first victory of the season. 

Lagares had two hits, David Wright drew a walk and Yoenis Cespedes had a hit and drew a walk.  Wilmer Flores had a hit, Kevin Plawecki had a hit and an RBI and the Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Wright was caught stealing and Lagares was picked off.  Cespedes had an outfield assist. 

Chase Utley had a hit, Cory Seager had two hits and an RBI and Justin Turner drew a walk.  Adrian Gonzalez had two hits and an RBI, Yasmani Grandal had a hit and Joc Pederson had a hit.  Yasiel Puig had a hit, Wood had a hit and Trayce Thompson had a hit and an RBI.  Utley, Pederson and Grandal each hit a double and Seager hit two doubles.  Thompson hit a homerun which was the game winning walk-off homerun and it was a pinch hit also.  The Dodgers were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Utley committed an error and Wood had a pickoff.   

In the first Seager hit an RBI double to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead.  Gonzalez hit a sac fly making it 2-0 Dodgers.  In the second Conforto reached on a force attempt error and a run scored to cut the lead to 2-1.  Plawecki hit an RBI single to tie the game at two.  In the ninth Thompson hit a solo homerun to win the game for the Dodgers 3-2. 

The two teams have split the first two of a four game series.  They will play game three on Wednesday night.

The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves battle to a 3-3 tie



The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves played to a 3-3 tie on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Champion Stadium in Orlando, Florida.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and pitched well.  Matt Reynolds led the offense with a couple of hits. 

deGrom pi9tched 6 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Addison Reed pitched to one batter and retired him, Hansel Robles pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Zach Thornton pitched a perfect inning.  Erik Goeddel pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout. 

Juan Lagares had a hit and an RBI, Kyle Johnson drew a walk and Wilmer Flores had a hit.  Dominic Smith had a hit, Marc Krauss had a hit and drew a walk and Travis Taijeron drew two walks.  Reynolds had two hits and drew a walk, Gavin Cecchini drew a walk and deGrom had an RBI.  Johnny Monell had an RBI, Reynolds hit a double and the Mets were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Taijeron and Robles each committed an error. 

In the fourth Adonis Garcia grounded into a double play and a run scored to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth deGrom hit an RBI groundout to tie the game at one.  Lagares hit an RBI single and it was 2-1 Mets in the fifth.  In the sixth Ender Inciarte hit a sac fly to tie the game at two and in the bottom of the eighth Jace Peterson hit a sac fly to make it 3-2 Braves.  In the ninth Monell hit an RBI groundout to tie the game at three and that would be the final score. 

The Mets now have four tie games this spring and their record is 7-13.  They will play at home in Port St. Lucie against a split squad Washington Nationals team on Sunday afternoon.

The New York Mets hitting continues there woes in loss to the Toronto Blue Jays



The New York Mets were defeated by the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium in Dunedin, Florida and the final score was 3-1 Toronto.  Bartolo Colon started for the Mets and pitched very well.  The Mets offense only managed five hits. 

Colon pitched six innings giving up three hits and no runs with no walks and six strikeouts.  Hansel Robles pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one, Stolmy Pimentel pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Buddy Carlyle pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and three runs. 

Juan Lagares had a hit, Patrick Biondi had a hit and an RBI and Wilmer Flores had a hit.  Marc Krauss had a hit, T.J. Rivera had a hit and Krauss hit a triple.  Biondi hit a homerun and the Mets were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Lagares and Dilson Herrera were each caught stealing.  Herrera committed an error. 

In the ninth Biondi hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 1-0 lead and in the bottom of the ninth Ezequiel Carrera hit a three run homerun to give the Blue Jays a 3-1 victory.  The Mets record fell to 7-11 on the spring and the Blue Jays improved to 14-4, the Mets have a couple of tie games as well.  The Mets will play a split squad on Thursday afternoon.  The one game will be played in Fort Myers against the Boston Red Sox and the other will be played in Port St. Lucie against the Houston Astros.

The Mets lose a high scoring game to the St. Louis Cardinals



The New York Mets were defeated by the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, Florida and the final score was 14-9.  Bartolo Colon started for the Mets and didn't pitch well at all.  There weren't many good pitching performances from the Mets.  Lucas Duda had two hits, Juan Lagares had two RBI, Danny Muno had two hits and Kevin Plawecki had two RBI to lead the offense. 

Colon pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up six hits and four runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and retired him, Gabriel Ynoa pitched an inning giving up three hits and three runs and Stolmy Pimentel pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up three hits and four runs with a strikeout.  Josh Smoker pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with one of them being earned and he struck out two, Jim Henderson pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Addison Reed pitched an inning giving up three hits and a run with two strikeouts. 

Curtis Granderson had a hit, Roger Bernadina had an RBI and Neil Walker had a hit.  Yoenis Cespedes had a hit, Lagares had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk and Duda had two hits.  Wilmer Flores had an RBI and drew a walk, Travis d'Arnaud had a hit and an RBI and Johnny Monell drew a walk.  Michael Conforto had a hit and an RBI, Ty Kelly drew a walk and Eric Campbell had a hit and drew a walk.  Muno had two hits, Plawecki had a hit and two RBI including a homerun.  The Mets were 5-16 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Campbell committed an error. 

In the first Flores hit a sac fly giving the Mets a 1-0 lead.  d'Arnaud hit an RBI single to make it a 2-0 game.  In the second Anthony Garcia hit an RBI triple to cut the lead to 2-1.  In the bottom of the second Plawecki hit a two run homerun to push the lead to 4-1 Mets.  In the third Randal Grichuk hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-2.  Brandon Moss hit a two run homerun and the game was tied at four.  In the bottom of the third Conforto hit an RBI single to make it 5-4 Mets.  Plawecki reached on a fielding error and a run scored to make it a 6-4 game.  In the fifth Moss hit a two run double and the game was tied at six.  Brayan Pena hit a sac fly to give the Cardinals their first lead at 7-6 and in the sixth they extended that lead to 8-6 on a Carson Kelly solo homerun.  Randal Grichuk hit a three run homerun and it was 11-6 Cardinals.  In the seventh Jacob Wilson hit a two run homerun to push the lead to 13-6 and in the bottom of the seventh Bernadina hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 13-7.  Lagares hit a two run single and it was 13-9 Cardinals.  In the ninth Nick Plummer hit an RBI single to make it 14-9 Cardinals and that would be the final score of the game. 

The Mets improved to 4-5 on the spring and they have a couple of tie games also.  They will play the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida.

The New York Mets lose to the Washington Nationals as Steven Matz struggles



The New York Mets were defeated by the Washington Nationals on Friday afternoon.  The game took place at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida and the final score was 9-5.  Matz didn't pitch very well in the game.  The Mets had seven hits but no player had a multi-hit game. 

Matz pitched two innings giving up two hits and three runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Antonio Bastardo pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one, Logan Verrett pitched two innings giving up two hits and he struck out two and Sean Gilmartin pitched two innings giving up three hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout.  Duane Below pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up four hits and five runs with a walk and Zach Thornton pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk. 

Alejandro De Aza had a hit, Ty Kelly drew a walk and Juan Lagares had a hit and an RBI.  John Mora had a hit and two RBI, Wilmer Flores drew two walks and T.J. Rivera had a hit.  Johnny Monell drew a walk, Marc Krauss had a hit and Danny Muno drew a walk.  Roger Bernadina had a hit, Travis Taijeron had an RBI and drew a walk and Bernadina hit a double.  The Mets were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Matz, De Aza, Cecchini and Mora each committed an error. 

In the third Lagares hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  The Nationals tied it in the third on a Brian Goodwin RBI single.  Chris Heisey hit a two run single to give the Nats a 3-1 lead in the third.  In the seventh Logan Schafer hit an RBI groundout to push the lead to 4-1.  Chris Bostick hit an RBI double in the eighth and it was 5-1 Washington.  Tony Campana hit a two run single to push the lead to 7-1 still in the eighth inning.  Jason Martinson hit an RBI double and it was 8-1 Nationals.  Schafer hit an RBI double to make it a 9-1 game.  In the ninth Taijeron hit a sac fly to cut the lead to 9-2, Mora hit a two run single to make it 9-4 and Rivera reached on a fielding error and a run scored to make it a 9-5 game.  That would be the final score.  The Mets record is now 4-4 and they have a couple of ties in the spring.  The Mets will be at home in Port St. Lucie on Saturday afternoon to take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

New York Mets lose a close one to the Atlanta Braves



The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday afternoon.  The game took place at Champion Stadium in Orlando, Florida and the final score was 5-4 Braves.  Matt Harvey made his first start of the spring and pitched pretty well.  Wilmer Flores had three hits to lead the offense and Juan Lagares had a couple of hits. 

Harvey pitched three innings giving up three hits and a run with two walks and a strikeout.  Rafael Montero pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run, Dario Alvarez pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with two walks and Chasen Bradford pitched an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one.  Chase Huchingson pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Zach Thornton pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with a strikeout. 

Roger Bernadina had a hit and drew a walk, Travis Taijeron had a hit and Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk.  Flores had three hits and an RBI, Eric Campbell drew a walk and Lagares had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Marc Krauss had two hits and an RBI.  The Mets were 4-12 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Lagares had two stolen bases and Flores was caught stealing.  Flores committed an error. 

In the third Nick Markakis hit a sac fly to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Lagares hit a two run single to give the Mets a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Krauss hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the fourth Nick Swisher hit into a double play and a run scored to cut the lead to 3-2.  In the fifth Flores hit an RBI single to push the lead to 4-2.  In the bottom of the fifth Erick Aybar hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-3.  In the bottom of the ninth Dansby Swanson hit an RBI triple to tie the game and Emilio Bonifacio hit an RBI single to win the game 5-4 for the Braves. 

The Mets will play at home in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday afternoon against the New York Yankees.
